Wow. For a movie I had no interest in seeing, a subject matter I was certain couldn’t be turned into a movie and an actor I’ve never really liked… this looks really, really good! I’ve reconsidered everything I had already decided about this film and I’m going to have to give it a chance.
People are so ungrateful to be alive, but not Aron Ralston!
Looks fantastic. Boyle and Beaufoy the next Scorsese and Schrader?
hasn’t scott feinburg heard of Brando?
127 will win Best Picture.
That was a lot better trailer. It actually made me want to see the movie. The first one was just bad. And that will teach you a lesson kids: “Never go to mountains without telling somebody where you are going”.
First trailer to get me all misty this year.
Looks incredible. I wouldn’t be suprised if people get sick of THE SOCIAL NETWORK soon, and this becomes the frontrunner.
In a Best Actor field that’s probably not going to have another high-concept, high-profile performance like this, I could definitely see James Franco sweeping the precursors and winning the Oscar as a heavy favorite like Jamie Foxx did with Ray.
Watching this makes me intensely jealous that I had nothing to do with this movie. Fantastic.
i.love.you.
I’ve got to tell you. I am thrilled with James Franco. He is the heir to the Sean Penns of the acting world. Actors who will do movies based on a good script not how big the premiere will be. We need guys like him. Treat him well Hollywood.
Thank you.
Amen… Franco is near the top of the under-appreciated actor list. Hope this brings some much deserved attention.
looks like your typical sentimental crap to me.
the survival story (artfully conveyed) of ANY ONE PERSON is not sentimental crap– unless you have no ability to experience empathy. A huge error in judgement turns into (finally) the ultimate expression of human courage and determination, with outcome of that second change at being allowed to really appreciate life. And Danny Boyle brings to us again, a movie that matters.
does anyone know the name of the editor of this trailer, or the company that made it? this is such a good trailer and it’s just — wrong – that we have no idea who created it. trailers are what i call a non-recognition system — i.e. they have no credits yet. of course, in the beginning, movies didn’t have credits, records didn’t have credits — we’re talking up to a century ago here, of course, but MTV didn’t have credits when it first started in the early 80s, remember that? just the name of the band and the song and the record company — then they finally started putting the director’s name on them. And commercials still don’t have credits, no matter who shoots or directs them. So it’s time for trailers to have credits, especially as we go to shorter and shorter forms online, and can watch trailers this good several times, something you never used to be able to do.
I’m teaching my advanced film class in an hour and was hoping someone can come up with the name of who cut this by then. Thanks much.
