Here is a new redband trailer for I Love You Phillip Morris, the film that will be released December 3 by Roadside Attractions. The subversive comedy evident in Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s comedy script Bad Santa were missing from earlier promotional materials on the film. They are evident in this trailer, which will at least take pressure off Universal’s The Dilemma.

Really? A Hot Trailer? Really? Why don’t you put up the trailer for “The Experiment” as well and call that hot too.
it is a NEW trailer and it will be getting a release this time. Don’t hate.
Hey–you can’t make gay references in trailers…remember?
Disturbing. Who would want to go see this beside gays?
As a completely straight male who happens to enjoy cinema of all times…I want to see this. Did you miss the part where it said it’s from the creators of ‘Bad Santa’? Not exactly a subtle film, this looks to have a lot of the same sort of humor be it black, twisted, subversive, what have you. Not to mention this was a red-band trailer, so more graphic content can be expected…
I also thoroughly appreciate great performances, and simply from this trailer it looks like Carrey has a winning one here. Might not be as good as one of his full-on dramatic performances in ‘The Truman Show’ or ‘Eternal Sunshine…’, but looks like he’ll hold my attention.
I imagine more than just gays will want to see this, has an A-list actor (two if you consider Ewan McGregor A-list, I think of him as an indie guy able to bounce between Hollywood and indie fare), interesting story, and looks like some good laughs.
Love typos…”cinema of all TYPES” is what should be there.
Perhaps some non-homophobes too?
I will see anything with Ewan McGregor, I don’t care who he’s f***ing.
That looks really funny. There’s no reason this movie should have had all the problems getting a release here in the States that it did. The distribution was scarce, advertising has been buried.
This sort of thing seems ridiculous in 2010. Several major movie stars decided this was a film worth making. Doesn’t that say something? Can we just let the people decide what they will and won’t watch instead of telling them what they’re allowed to see?
If there’s one issue to be had with the film, it’s that the title might potentially make one think the film’s plot has something to do with the tobacco industry when it doesn’t. That quibble aside, this looks to be a blast. Roll picture!
It was released over here this summer… big disappointment. I was really excited about it too.
I was totally unprepared for what I just witnessed. That’s all I’m going to say about this.
I don’t know man: maybe I am a closet homophobe, but watching two guys boning just isn’t something I want to pay money for – and I’m fine with same-sex marriage. I think it was Dan Savage who said that some people have a problem with same-sex unions because because the mind will go right to anal sex – just like this trailer did! I did just see “Bruno” for the first time on HBO the other night, though, and that put me off of ANY kind of sex in the movies for a while. Dang.
Yes, you are a homophobe.
Very excited re: this film. Been watching out for this since it screened @ Sundance last year. Hope it’s as good as the trailer.
I feel like I’ve fallen through a portal to hell where this film is what people find hilarious. Wait. I live in Hollywood. That is hell. Nevermind.
This trailer is actually very funny – a totally irreverent character comedy with Carey playing another over-the-top whack job. I may go see this in spite of the shitty word of mouth.
I saw this here in April and “irreverent character comedy” doesn’t actually do the film justice. It’s far more akin to something like Catch Me If You Can. It’s not hilarious and there’s far more tender moments than there are funny moments. It’s a great movie and were the main characters not gay, there’d be no reason that this wouldn’t be a box office hit. The story is terrific and the fact that it’s true makes it all the more entertaining. Fabulous performances from everyone involved, especially Carrey.
This is Awesome.
Maybe the filmmakers involved, the only people reading this, would like to address the fact that their audience has already watched a crystal clear copy of it online.
It’s all over the Internet. An entire industry that pats itself on the back for being bright (myself included), but we can’t even shut down a single website that costs us as individuals, and as a group.
Quicksilverscreen. Look it up, people
Just in time for the holidays! Does anyone expect this to do more than 8-10 million gross?
I already saw this flick -its fantastic – Carrey is amazing… For the record, thats the only gay sex scene… its explicit for the sake of the reveal that he’s gay and a married man…
I’ve seen it. The film is just not very good. All of this hype, and the whole distribution mess is for naught.
Agree, the film was completely bizarre. And not in a good way. It’s really struggles to find a consistent tone and both actors are about ten years too old for their roles.
The ‘irreverent tone’ is the whole point of the film. It is not only a movie about sexual identity, but identity in general.
Sexuality aside, it’s a con-man film, where Carrey’s character plays various roles before settling on the one he finds for himself. It is easily Carrey’s best work in a decade (save, maybe, Eternal Sunshine).
It’s not a great film, but it is, for lack of a better word, “ballsy”.
