Pete Segal has made a deal to direct Grudge Match, a Tim Kelleher-scripted comedy about two bitter rivals who are coaxed back into the ring for a grudge match — 50 years after they fought for the title. Billy Gerber and Mark Steven Johnson are producing. On the internet, they are trying to line up the fight card with the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro. Too obvious. I say, go back to the Bucket List tandem of Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. Actually, insiders said that the characters are in their 60s. Segal last directed 2008′s Get Smart, and if this movie happens, I’m not sure when they will be sounding the bell for that sequel.

I can hear the pitch, “It’s ‘Grumpy Old Men’…with boxing!” Could not imagine a more perfect director for this than Segal.
Bucket list tandem of Nicholson & Freeman has a great script at Warner Brothers with Pete Segal attached called Dirty Old Men…For three years theyve been screaming wheres our bucket list…but are hesitant to pull the actual trigger. That, or getting nicholson to actually commit to anything besides blow and being one of the weirdest people in person is too much trouble.
this project sounds good…but would love to see that bucket list cast again!
Grudge Match 2: This time it’s Forensic.
Rocky vs Jake LaMotta!?! High Concept Heaven!
Kelleher’s a great guy and funny as hell! This could be a really funny movie.
You picked the wrong movie – you should pick “Dirty Old Men” aka “Wing Men”! for Nicholson/Freeman. Much funnier!
Jack – if you read this – read Dirty Old Men! If you say yes – it’s a go.
The shoot requires you to play golf with Morgan Freeman and drink scotch for 10 weeks. Seriously!
A boxing movie? Really? Who are you Ron Shelton?
Stallone and De Niro NEED to do this movie.
Stallone would ruin the movie. I say Sean Connery and Tommy Lee Jones. They are two of my favorite actors. I heard Connery has been having some health problems though, so I doubt he could do it. I do like the idea of Nicholson and Freeman though. They were brilliant in “The Bucket List”. Anyone, but Stallone.
I thought Hollywood only let this guy direct remakes and sequels. Finally an original idea kinda sorta.
