UPDATE 10 PM: NBC just released the overnight ratings for last night’s Sunday Night Football game between the Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers. It scored a big 16.0/25 rating, the best for an October NFL primetime game in 12 years, since, coincidentally, another matchup between the Minnesota and Green Bay on Oct. 5 1998 on ABC. This was the third-best SNF overnight rating ever, up 54% from last year’s Week 7 game.
PREVIOUS 9 AM: No major movement last night, with primetime once again dominated by football. There are no metered market ratings for last night’s Sunday Night Football on NBC this morning, but judging by the fast nationals, it was pretty big. The 18-49 fast national rating for the Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers game was 8.6 vs. a 6.5 for the game last week. It will certainly adjust up significantly – last week, SNF‘s rating went up by almost a rating point to a 7.4 in the finals. NBC is guaranteed another Sunday win in 18-49 and total viewers.
As it does every other week, CBS’ lineup was time shifted and boosted by an NFL overrun. The 7 PM hour (4.3/13) featured 17 minutes of NFL overrun and 43 minutes of 60 Minutes (it is ironic, isn’t it?). The 8 PM hour, which included the conclusion of 60 Minutes and the bulk of The Amazing Race did a 3.3/9, followed by Amazing Race/Undercover Boss (3.4/8) at 9 PM and Undercover Boss/CSI: Miami (2.8/7) at 10 PM. It is too close to call how Race and Boss did vis. last week, when they hit a 3.4 and a 3.5, respectively, in the fast nationals before each going up a tenth in the finals.
ABC repeated its performance from last week, with America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.8/5), Desperate Housewives (3.9/9) and Brothers & Sisters (2.6/6) flat and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (2.4/6) up 4%.
With the NLCS championship series not needing a Game 7, Fox aired comedy reruns last night, led by Family Guy (2.1/5).

Remember back when Desperate Housewives once dominated their time slot? Me either, glad that we don’t have to deal with the time overrun on the west coast.
Crazy that AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS is still on the air. Amazing it survived without Bob Saget!
Don’t you mean, Amazing it SURVIVED Bob Saget? That man’s as funny as a colonoscopy.
Wow the amazing race is really great; I’m not really there for the competing/challenges; however the scenery is so fabulous and unbelievably amazingly shot/edited; I have yet to catch a camera in one of the shots; how do you shoot a close up of two competitors on a boat under a huge bridge and then go to a long shot and there’s no cameraguy on the boat; so does anyone know how many cameras are used , and for each couple???? Amazing.
