EXCLUSIVE: They are the men behind the housewives. Matt Anderson and Nate Green, executive producers and showrunners of four Real Housewives series – The Real Housewives of New York, New Jersey, Atlanta as well as spinoff Bethenny Getting Married? – have launched their own production company, Purveyors of Pop. The duo also is finalizing an overall deal with Bravo. Under the pact, they will continue their duties as executive producers and showrunners on the 4 hit series (Green is on New Jersey, Anderson on Bethenny while both executive produce New York and Atlanta) as well as to develop new shows for the cable channel through their company. Overall deals are rare at Bravo and are usually reserved for the channel’s top producing talent. Top Chef executive producers Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth of the Magical Elves have had a deal at the channel as part of a larger pact with NBC Universal. The Real Housewives of Atlanta is Bravo’s #1 show and the network just announced that it would use the series to launch a fifth night of original programming on Sunday next month. New Jersey, which has been renewed for a third season, recently posted a record audience for the Real Housewives franchise (3.9 million) for its reunion special. New York, which has been renewed for a fourth cycle, ended its third season with a series high viewership (2.6 million) for the season finale. And its spinoff, Bethenny, launched in June as Bravo’s most watched series premiere ever with more than 2 million viewers. Anderson and Green are with Innovative.

Bravo is very fortunate to have the talents of Matt Anderson and Nate Green, two of Hollywood’s extreme talents. I can only hope they can keep them in house for I see great things happening for the Purveyors of Pop. Well done Bravo and congrats to both Anderson and Green, good luck POP!
To the ones on this comments page who are giving positive comments:
Are you for real or are you Matt and Nate’s PR team?! Spinning off/copying a successful reality series that you didn’t create means you’re talented? Scott Dunlop is the one who came up with the original “Housewives” series six years ago (The Real Housewives of OC).
Do Matt and Nate know how to write a TV concept (i.e. sitcom, TV drama)? Or create a diff. type of successful TV concept other than a reality series (i.e. game show)? Or write a great screenplay? That shows real talent. Creating more derivative reality TV series that only people with no lives watch does not demonstrate talent! Get a clue!
GIVE ME A BREAK !!
Like music…but even more…television is about NOW!!
Nate & company are Bravo’s best…because they are about NOW !!
Love Matt Anderson, he is one of the best congrats!!
Congrats to Bravo on getting the amazing talent of Matt Anderson! Great things are about to happen for Bravo!
Solid franchise and and well produced shows. Best of luck guys!
Tough to call yourself a showrunner when all you do is chase around bitches all day — more like personal assistant actually.
You may think all they are doing is chasing around “bitches” as you call them, but at least people are watching these bitches. The broadcast networks can only wish they could get as much press and attention as these shows with their tired doctor/lawyer/cop shows that no one is watching.
you’ve obviously never been involved in one of these shows. keeping them afloat — let alone making them soar — definitely requires great producing.
LOVE the Housewives shows! Great work, guys!
These guys crack me up. I mean, it’s all kind of a joke. They made their name by “showrunning” a shlocky franchise that caters to Bravo’s lowest demographic. And what a horrible name for a company. Love the three or four comments above, most likely from Nate, Matt, and both their mothers!? I knew these guys at MTV and if only I was allowed to post the things that I know. Hmph.
Good luck guys, but i just don’t forsee your company lasting more than 3 years tops.
Matt Anderson is a class act. SUCH a smart deal for Bravo. Congrats to Matt and Nate Green as you gotta’ admire the solid product from a wacky cast. This proves the good guys do win, and win on their own POP terms. Love this!
Just want to say that Housewives is Da Bomb!
To make such great TV progmamming these guys deserve millions! Who else could make TV so entertaining? Mr. Matt Anderson has a gift! He’s a messiah!
Wow..
Haters gonna hate!
I am sooo proud of the Housewives series. We’ve taken an idea and just totally have been able to reach just about every demographic.
Let me just say it’s not always about the best ratings or the most outrageous on camera moments- in the end it’s about people. The people on camera, the people behind the camera and the people in the edit. Without all of those people, I could never reach the position where I am today.
So.. thank you for making such an ordinary talent like me a superstar.. and thank you for watching!

Matt Love what you do. We should do coffee.
You “took” an idea? You didn’t produce the original, or even the second or third in the series initially, for that matter. Nice false modesty later in your response.
Why no mention of the Beverly Hills franchise?
Because they don’t produce it!
This shows that when they do write about you, you must be doing something.
Congrats to these two great producers. I know a thing or two about working with these casts. It’s an art to make it happen. Take RH of DC and you can see an underperforming show.
Again, well done guys. You have earned it. Can’t wait to see shows of yours all over Bravo’s schedule.
Love the shows! My girlfriends and I would love to show up the ladies with a series in Knoxville, TN-Ice Bear Hocky, University of Tennessee football, skirt! Magazine, CityView magazine, catholic high school, nuclear weapons facility, lots of conferences, receptions and fundraisers. Think about it. Find me on FB. Gina
