After Blythe Danner and Swoosie Kurtz made a memorable turn as Peter Facinelli’s lesbian moms on the first season of Nurse Jackie, the show’s producers decided to bring the characters back for another guest stint in the upcoming third season. However, Danner was unavailable because she is shooting a movie, so Judith Light was tapped for the role… Robert Knepper is adding to the string of bad guys he’s played on TV, most notably on Prison Break and Heroes. In a 2-episode arc on Showtime’s upcoming drama Shameless, he will play a goon who is chasing William Macy’s alcoholic partiarch character because of a scam they had going together.

Class act all the way.
Just directed Knepper in a feature. Amazing guy to work with, a true collaborator and complete professional. He’ll do little things during his performance on set you don’t even catch until the edit room when you sit back and go, “Wow, that’s amazing…” Wish him the best.
Love Swoosie in this part. I can’t get enough of her she is funny and heartbreaking at the same time. Glad she is coming back.
Anything to get Swoosie out of that awful trailer-trashy role she plays in “Mike and Molly”. The series would be a lot better without her character or the sister. No fault of both actresses, but the show is painful when they’re on camera, and Ms. Kurtz in particular deserves better.
