Syfy has picked up freshman original series Haven for a second season with a 13-episode order. Haven, based on Stephen King’s novel The Colorado Kid, stars Emily Rose as FBI agent Audrey Parker who takes up residence in the small town of Haven, Maine and soon discovers the town’s many secrets. Entertainment One produces the series, whose second season will start production in the spring for a summer 2011 premiere. Scott Shepherd runs the show and is executive producing with the pilot’s writers Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn, Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller, John Morayniss, Noreen Halpern and Laszlo Barna.

Yippee!! Thank you, SyFy! It will definitely be worth the wait for Duke, Audrey, Nathan, and all The Troubles!
I am so glad it gets another season. This is great since the last thing SYFY needed was yet another Stargate style show.
Im very happy there will be a season2 for Haven. Stephen King has done it again. Thankyou SciFi
Oh my god this is the worst possible show on TV at the moment and they renewed it?! SyFy is slowly but surely going down the drain…
Totally agree. I was barely able to get through 3 episodes before I just gave up. This series is bad even for Syfy. Moreover, everyone should stop saying “based on Stephen King’s novel The Colorado Kid,” because this piece of crap bares little resemblance to that story.
I wouldn’t be to sure about that opinion. The show has great potential and if you look at a lot of first season, you see that the second season is better with a better storyline and more outlined caracters. And let’s face it, syfy makes good series but there never realy great, Stargate is good, but it will never be for a big crowd. And when there is a great series like firefly they can’t promote it. Personnally I like Haven, and it has a better storyline than any stargate ever had or will have.
i cant believe you had the nerve to say that haven is the worst possible show on tv,did you watch it? i think its one of there best and you probably just had a hard time keeping UP!! syfi is one of the best channels it is most definitely MY FAVORITE AND THEY WILL NEVER GO UNDER AS LONG AS THEY HAVE SMART FANS WHO CAN KEEP UP!!!
After eight episodes in, I gave up on it. Tedious and overdone. Plus the characters never drew me in. Another Typically bland offering from SyFy and renewing it only gives me 13 more reasons to avoid the channel.
Couldn’t agree more. Typical syfy show — drab location, inexpertly shot, stupid premise, huge dependence on horribly-executed cgi, and bad acting.
Agree with both above. I wanted to like Haven, but its not watchable.
I concur.
A lot of talented people involved all the way around, but this one came up pancake titty flat.
Yay, I’m glad it’s got a 2nd season!
It’s one of those shows that’s certainly good enough to watch more off. It’s not the *best* show ever, granted, but I really enjoy it nevertheless!
And to those people who don’t like it… why are you bothering to waste your time moaning about it? Leave it for those of us who like it!! *rolls eyes*
Amen! Nobody’s ever going to like every show, but we don’t need to go around blasting the ones we don’t like.
Why not? Isn’t that the whole point of having comments on websites? So people can express their opinion?
It’s an awesome show! I don’t know that those people criticizing it are talking about! Go Syfy, more shows like this one would be welcome.
good . i am glad to see Sci fi renew one of their hits. which means being able to learn more about the troubles and also maybe Nathan will tell Audrey he can feel her touch. plus a second season means fans could start learning more about the troubles. and the colorado kid mystery
I loved this show, I was drawn in form the FIRST episode, but Nathan DID tell Aubry he could feel her touch, in the last episode of the season
haha. I hung onto every word, I HOPE THEY END UP TOGETHER.
He already told her he could feel her touch in the last episode
This has just premiered in the UK(last night)and looked OK ?
So what you guys are saying is don’t bother watching any more episodes ?!
I’d say see for yourself and make your own judgment. I personally loved the pilot episode and was hooked from then on. A few episodes are shaky, but overall the show delivered and is well worth the watch, but don’t take my word for it.
Boy I am really surprised it got another season.
It is really tepid- bad female lead- can’t act – has no charisma
really bad story lines
yikes
We have thoroughly enjoyed Haven – especially as we got to know the characters. The actors portrayed them perfectly according to the writers’ commentaries. Also, according to the commentaries they were asked them to change their original story arc to episodic style at the first of the season. Once they were able to take off on their original intent around episode 4-5 the mythology really came to life. Emily Rose and Lucas Bryant were able to reveal more and more depth of their characters – and WE loved them! There is mystery, humor, tenderness, and plenty of surprises if you stick with the show. The finale was fun and unexpected. WE can’t wait for season 2! Thank you Syfy for giving us a supernatural thriller that reminds us of Twilight Zone instead of another vampire/horror show.
As for expressing opinions, we agree with being able to discuss ideas and improvements without disrespectful put-downs.
I love the show “Haven” and I thank SyFy for showing it. I can’t believe I will have to wait until next summer to see the second season, but at least there will be a second season. I think Emily Rose does a wonderful job with her part, as well as the other actors. I was completly shocked when Audrey realized she was Lucy! I can’t wait to see how that came about.
Haven is a fantastic addition to the syfy line up. Could not be more thrilled to hear that a second season got picked up. Just because its loosly based on the colorado kid doesn’t mean it needs to follow it to the T – how could you ever enjopy it knowing what happens–it wouldn’t be entertaining if you knew exactly how it goes. If you don’t like it, shut up and watch something else.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEAAAAAAAAATTTTT!!!!!!!!!
LOVE HAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SCFY YOU ARE THE BEST, THANKS FOR SEASON 2!!!! CAN’T WAIT!!!!
YIIIIPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
SORRY, GOT SO EXCITED HAVEN IS COMING BACK FOR ANOTHER SEASON, I MISSPELLED SYFY!!
DUKE YOUR A MESS AND SOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!! NATHAN, BE STILL MY HEART!! GO AUDREY, GO AUDREY!! ALL THE ACTORS ARE CHOICE!!!! LOVE THIS SHOW ON A FRIDAY NITE IN THE LAND OF OZ,
(WATCH N’ KANSAS SILLY)
THANKS SYFY!!!!!!!
Great news. Haven is a charming little show with heart, and it more then deserves a second season. The three main actors (Emily Rose more then carries her weight) have a great synergy and work really well together.
It was a series that started slow, but I thought the season finale was fantastic. Lots of interesting questions left to be answered next year. I am glad it is renewed!
One of the best series I have ever watched. There is great depth in the characters that is truly worthy of the Stephen King name. King is not writing the TV series, but they are staying true to form to King’s style of character development. As each week airs, we learn more and more about each person and get deeper into them. I think Emily Rose is outstanding in her role. For those who don’t think so, you’re just not getting it, and you probably never will. So much of TV is predictable and retreads of other shows. Kudos to Syfy for continuing to break the mold and offer truly ORIGINAL TV!
Okay number one the show may not have the action graphics as Heroes but seriously you guys bashing the show stfu get a life and move on just because it didn’t have the fireball blasting graphics or a skin type flick doesn’t mean anything. The story line is amazing and if you really DO PAY ATTENTION to the show it can make you nauseous about how in depth it gets and can be they could be keep adding to the plot slowly like it has been and have 20 seasons. & for those saying it’s nothing like Steven Kings version honestly. Watch his movies. Read his books. The Dark Tower especially went on FOREVER about 10 million trees died for no reason because he doesn’t like to get his point across quickly. And whatever he has involved in this you should get the hint that 3 episodes in you won’t ever find out whats going on. Haven has a million loopholes which is the point im guessing SO you will keep guessing. She is an amazing actress and on top of that whether or not it becomes red carpet material look at all the HARD work they put in producing that you bash in one message. And if you think they don’t read or get the comments and get offended you can go straight to hell. It’s a show not your life and guessing since everyone is saying this show is mundane then i’m guessing your life is utter crap. Please do us all a favor and don’t stay tuned.
Forever, Loyal Haven Fan.
Thank you SyFy! This is easily one of the most underrated series on tv; the character depth, the subtle unfurling of compelling details, the serial nature of each episode with some weekly resolution, the mysterious relationships, allusions and nature of Haven itself, the non-emotive/non-hammy acting of the VERY engaging and interesting characters, the visual esthetic… they all add up to a GREAT show that has that same je ne sais qua of the X Files.
I feel like I know these people and are part of “it” with them but, by the same token, there is not too much extraneous “likeability” quirkiness that always seems to ruin other shows — there is no desperation for attention here… Haven is addictive completely on its own merits and I am elated that I have another season to impatiently and achingly wait for!!!
I LOVE THIS SHOW FROM THE FIRST EPISODE TO THE FINALE AND I WAS REALLY HOPING THAT IT WOULD BE COMING BACK IN 2011. I LOVE MY COP SHOWS AND COMEDIES, BUT THIS IS A GOOD BRAIN TEASER AND I LOVE THE SCENEREY AND WISH I COULD BE THERE AT TIMES. I LOVE THE CHARACTERS AND ALL THE ACTORS WHO PLAY THEM SO WELL, EACH ONE HIGHLIGHTS THE OTHER. BRAVO TO SYFI CHANNEL FOR THIS SHOW. MAY IT RUN MANY MANY SEASONS.
Great news!!! I love this show. The characters have a lot of depth and are surrounded by mystery, and I can’t wait to see where the story takes us!!
This is so much better than the reality shows that are really NOT entertaining.
Thanks SYFY channel
Thanks so much for doing a second season. I love this show and really look forward to the next episode weekly. Can’t wait for season 2!!!!! Scfy rocks!
I know this show is a little sophomoric, 1980′s CGI effects, dialog can be “wanting”, and I hate to admit it, but that is what I like about this show. It’s easy to watch, not a lot of deep thinking required, just kind of creepy & entertaining. I love the location. I think the actress who plays Audrey does a decent job. I’m glad they are getting a 2nd season – gives them a chance to polish the rough edges a bit.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this show and am SOO excited it’s coming back for a second season!! Was really worried it might not, but it’s a Great show and keeps you guessing! Hope the second season is just as good if not better! Can’t wait to find out more about Audrey/Lucy!!!
In a world of repetitive reality shows that have no value… Haven is a bright star of entertainment. To the nay-sayers… that’s fine, everyone has the right to their opinion. I do feel that picking up the show for a second season was a smart move and is a treat for all of us fans that weren’t ready to give up 45 minutes of fun every week. The characters were all very well defined from the start and have naturally progressed through the story arc. Haven has not suffered from the typical trappings of over-acting and I feel the actors themselves are doing an incredible job giving life to each persona. Well done… thanks for the first season and I look forward to the second.
Yeah! So glad they renewed it. Great show, love the characters and the actors.
I am so glad it got picked up. My daughter and I LOVE this show. Awesome writing. Great effects. Twisted plot. I read The Colorado Kid just to see how it played with this show. Who needs those other networks…they always cancel their shows and leave you hanging anyway.
Thanks!
Disagree with all of you. The whole family loves it!!
Haven is one of my favorite shows on syfy this fall
I’m very happy they have renewed it and I’m looking forward to it.
The plots are intricate and it is haunting in a way only
Stephen King could write!
Hope they keep it running a long time!
