After a series of Missing You teasers featuring oddball characters, here is TBS’ first promo for Conan O’Brien’s new late-night talk show starring the comedian. It appears to be a send-up of Paris Hilton’s infamous Carl’s Jr car-washing commercial. Conan premieres November 8th.

Jesus, like everything else TBS gets their hands on, they turn it to shit. So sad.
Uhm, WHAT EXACTLY did they turn into shit?? You think that’s what the show’s gonna consist of?? It’s a freakin’ teaser, not the show. And odds are, this was Conan’s idea, not TBS’.
It was most definitely Conan and his team’s idea. TBS is marketing on his terms.
Cute!
Hey, I have the same hose nozzle!
ME TOO!!!
That’s just disturbing. I understand they have to be somewhat creative in promoting him, but considering he was starting to lose in the ratings to Craig Ferguson before his Tonight Show debacle, perhaps they need to do something to reach out to people beyond his fan base. Who are the only ones who would find this funny.
How hilariously unattractive!
I’m glad Conan is back, but he needs to lose the beard. I hope he’s not going to start taking himself too seriously.
Too late. Apparently you didn’t read the “People of Earth” memo.
Hilarious. He’s best back in his element and I hope he throws those two dinosaurs back to the seventies.
I love Coco but this video is ripping something that A. Was never that good B. Was a long time ago and C. Done by a complete moron (Paris Hilton). Conan, you’re more creative than this. I’ll still watch but come on, you can do better to promote your show;)
I agree. Is this the beginning or end of Coco’s creative hose? Remember, what goes in comes out.
Paris Hilton looks really terrible in this video.
I wanted to laugh. I didn’t.
Team Coco!
That’s funny
I wanted to laugh. I did.
So did I but it just wasn’t funny. Great concept but very poor execution and especially on the editing, oy. My kid could have made cleaner cuts on his Mac.
Guess what, people — Paris Hilton did not invent the whole sexing-up-while-washing-the-car bit! Its actually been going on since the days of COOL HAND LUKE. So any of you who think he’s just parodying that Carls Jr. commercial need to realize that things did actually happen prior to the last year or so . . . Christ, no wonder those shitty spoofs (which only reference movies, people and events that happened in the last ten minutes or so) do so well!
Carrot top is on tv again?!
I laughed.
I guess this means that, with this eighties music video reference, which is a hackneyed comedy convention FROM the eighties, he’s updating his comedy sphere of reference from the seventies TO the eighties. Still keeping an eye on Fallon. Carson seemed lightweight at the start too. Conan’s on basic cable where he belonged from the very beginning anyway. Team Coco is to comedy what the Lyndon LaRouche movement is to politics.
Ditto, about Fallon. I like the guy more every time I watch him. He’s very Carson-esque, only with Twitter.
Your comparison of O’Brien to LaRouche is way off base, however. At the end of his Tonight Show tenure Conan got 10 million viewers. That’s huge. I don’t know what happens to him on basic cable, though. If you want to make a political comparison, I do feel that Leno is very Robert Byrd-like, only not as glib and Byrd’s skits were funnier.
What? Where’s the nudity? Come on Coco, let’s see some of that pale skin!
Unlike what the network says about itself, this spot was legitimately “Very Funny”
Too bad coco is on a network that is hands-down, decidedly unfunny.
This spot was far from “Very Funny” JK… very far. It actually stunk. He can do better.
I’ll tell you why I won’t watch. Because all I hear from Conan is whining about how far he’s slipped. How his office sucks. How being on TBS sucks. How his salary sucks. What you suck is what you are…
This spoof is a bit tired. Comedy Central did it better and only a few weeks ago…
