Talk about a fast turnaround. Turner Classic Movies will run a 24-hour marathon of 12 Tony Curtis movies on Sunday, October 10th. (In fact, Tony once joked that TCM stands for Tony Curtis Movies.) The movies to be shown are Beachhead (1954), Kings Go Forth (1958), The Vikings (1958), Operation Petticoat (1959), Who Was That Lady? (1960), Sex and the Single Girl (1964), You Can’t Win ‘Em All (1970), Sweet Smell of Success (1957), The Defiant Ones (1958), Trapeze (1956), The Great Race (1965), Don’t Make Waves (1967).

Why did it take so long for them to pay tribute? The man has been dead a whole 24 hours already!
I’ll just come out and say it. I love TCM.
Like the Lineup, but where’s “Some Like it Hot”?
I agree, Some Like It Hot should be shown…loved that movie!
Not to have Some Like It Hot is really lame–that movie is “TONY CURTIS”
Odd their not airing Some Like It Hot, but thrilled their going to run Sweet Smell of Success. Tony Curtis was such an under rated actor. Realy glad TCM is doing this, realy realy glad there is a TCM to do this at all.
Ditto on the hat’s off to TCM. I spend more than half a year in Europe and without it, I’d…I’d…well, just kudos to TCM. And, yeah, why not get whoever has the rights to SOME LIKE IT HOT to contribute to the TCM tribute. How can they not get his masterpiece?
A concentration of the actor’s work is the best tribute at his passing. In a 10 year span, he performed in films which are classics in their genre, and of their time.
Not long ago, Mr. Cutis appeared on Graham Norton’s BBC show, and charmed a full house of fans of all ages.
R.I.P. Tony Curtis
I always miss seeing “Rat Race” with Debby Reynolds on these kinds of lists.
I’m with JK, where is Some Like it Hot? That was a pivotal one for me.
How about “The Black Shield of Falworth”? I love hearing Curtis’s medieval English character recite the famous line, “Yonduh lies duh castle of my fadduh”.
Good lineup, but where’s “Boeing Boeing”? That’s a neglected classic!
I MUST AGREE WITH THE ABOVE COMMENT WITH TCM OMMITTING THE SHOWING OF SOME OF MR. CURTIS` MUST EXCEPTIONAL WORKS IN HIS ACTING CAREER….
I, too, like many others will be missing Tony’s CLASSICS. He was a class act, all the while being his usual handsome, pixish self.
Obviously, TCM doesn’t have the rights to those films, otherwise they would show them!
What about Houdini? The Boston Strangler? Please TCM play All of his movies, they are all so wonderful! Thanks Ted Turner!!
Jamie Curtis quote regarding her fathers passing showed a lot of class. May He Rest In Peace…..
Can’t believe you are not showing Some Like It Hot. I know it has been shown on TCM before as I recorded it. Just moved and had to trade in my DVR and lost this great, and my favorite movie ever. What is the problem – please show it soon!
