What happens if you put Bill O’Reilly on a couch with five outspoken women and throw in a hot-button issue like the Ground Zero mosque? Guaranteed mayhem. And that’s exactly what happened today on ABC’s The View.
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

If Rosie was still on the show, she would have ate him. Or sat on him. Or both!
BILL,SHAWN,BECK,ROVE, ARE ALL UNDERCOVER RACIST. THEY ALL HAVE MORE BODYGUARDS THAN THE PRES,DOES.FATE WILL DEAL WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE FILL WITH HATE.
Undercover racists? Nothing about undercover about it. Only people who say they aren’t are other racists who don’t want to admit to it.
I can tell you are intelligent.
Historically, the Catholic Church has committed terrible crimes in the name of religion. Accusing women of being witches and burning them. If we listen to O’Reilly’s message, reasonable people will come to the conclusion that no Catholic Church should be built anywhere near women.
By your definition, which is tired and old, we are living through the Muslim version of the Spanish Inquisition, where they would like to make the whole world live under Sharia Law, just as the Catholics intent was to dispel heresy. Do you think that this somehow justifies what the Sharia Muslims propose?
Problem is, none of you Drudgebots have cited anything concrete that says that the Park 51 Sufi Muslims (big difference between Sufi Islam and Wahabbi Islam by the by) are advocating Sharia law in American.
we get it. our Consitition allows them the right to build their mosque. but all here’s what I haven’t heard yet… the ground zero mosque boils down to two positions. you are more worried about:
A Offending Muslims (who don’t speak out against the lunatics that are hi-jacking their religion)
B the sensitivities of Americans who suffered greatly because of 9/11
Simple. pick a side.
I suggest you study your history before accusing others of making bigoted comments when you just made a bigoted comment yourself.
The Catholic Church did not burn witches!
Congratulations, you just lumped all Catholics together. Therefore, you are a racist.
Liberals, especially Hollywood liberals, are the most intolerant people you will ever meet. Yet, they feel comfortable accusing conservatives of being intolerant.
Okay, first you have a bunch of women who don’t live anywhere near “reality”. The typical Hollywood left wing scene hard at work her folks. You have someone who lays it out in plan English and suddenly they become “Evil Republican Man”. Simple fact, it was Muslims that flew those plans into the twin towers. As a former American soldier who has “encountered” Muslims on 3 different continents, I will tell you from first hand experience they would not hesitate to gut any of us given the chance. Muslims in America are very different than those abroad. But you can’t tell that to the left. They just can’t see it because they have their heads too far up their own asses. You actually have to leave the coffee house to see what is really happening. It is an insult to the estimated 3,000 Americans that lost their live on September 11,2001 at the hands of animals (under the guise of their god) to erect a mosque anywhere near ground zero. Anyone who believes otherwise needs to spend sometime in the middle east or be shot.
And where are you from? Ummm, New York? No I think not. Because it’s not a mosque anymore than your local YMCA is a Catholic Church. I’m born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and proud of it. I was raised with people of all Faiths: Muslim Faith, Christian Faith, Jewish Faith and no Faith at all. Where are you from? Oh, that’s right – you didn’t say so. And after all this time, we, here in New York, were attacked, NOT you, so let us say what is right for us. 3,000 Americans didn’t lose their lives, 3,000 New Yorkers did, including Gay New Yorkers, Liberal New Yorkers, and quote-unquote- “illegal” immigrants whom the tea-partiers and Republicans want to discount as meaningful contributors to our lives as a Nation. It shames me that Bill O’Reilly claims he’s from New York – I’m from New York, and I welcome you to challenge us, Muslim, Gay, Straight, Christian, Jewish, to adopt your narrow-minded way of thinking. You’ll notice after all these years statistically we never think our city should be anything less than diverse and pluralistic, and if you want to declare war in our names you’re on your own.
Where am I from? AMERICA. The state is irrelivent. NYC or Mayberry, it is all the same. It was not New York that was attacked, it was America. And it was done by those who lived among us as Americans,so while you are on your “melting pot” soap box bear that in mind. The message that this mosque sends to those outside our borders is one of submission. It is the left wing mindset that pisses me off so, you sit here in the arms of America seemingly safe and warm while people like me have been down range fighting the very ugliness you are defending in your “Brooklyn” speach. This is reality, we are hated by everyone out there. What is most dominate “out there” are muslims. I have never been in a tactical situation with Christians. To the mulims out side our borders we are the enemy and it is jihad for them. So am I a racsit, a fascist? No, I am an American, and damn proud of it. And defending the dignity of NYC far exceeds its borders or Brooklyn. This is not a New York thing, it is an America thing.
You are an Idiot, brainless logic.
Amen to that brother!!!
WHAT A STATEMENT — from a Guy who has “BEEN THERE”
Agreement — 100%
WHO has been accepting the responsibility for the Horrific “MURDERS” against the USA – World Trade and Yada Yada Yada again and again — Britain and around the WORLD — The Muslims — that Openly subscribe to the murder and decapitation of innocent “enemy” who choose to believe FACTS rather than Muslim Gibberish direct from the Koran. — Just READ IT — No profiling needed to see what they subscribe to — JUST READ IT.
All Due respects to Muslims who are obviously duped into this age old nonsense but do not have the support from their leaders to OPENLY Deny the radical Murder concept of —US the “Enemy”.
WHERE is their OUTRAGE of this world wide Murder — not the least of which — IF they were to say anything — the women would be enthusiastically Raped — Throats Slit — Beheaded — STONED — READ WHAT MUSLIMS BELIEVE !!! JUST READ IT !!!
Ole “BOB”
You said a mouthful Toots!!!
Whoopi is an idiot anyhow, but God bless her anyhow.
Soooo…if you post in CAPS then that means you speak the truth?….
watch his show. your conmments about him are indicative of your hatred.
Sorry, but you race pimps have overdone the “racist” thing to the point that the label is meaningless. I listen to/watch most of the folks you have maligned, and there is noting at all racist about any of them. Get over the victim mentality and make something of your own life, without expecting your neighbor (or a total stranger) to pay for it at the government’s gunpoint.
They clearly do not know what race is. Muslims are not a race, they are a religion. You choose your religion, to a certain extent, you don’t choose your race. There are African Muslims, European Muslims, Chinese Muslims. Same as Christians are not a race. The only thing I can think is that the liberals assume that all Muslims are Arab (whom are caucasian by the way), which is false. Most Arabs are actually Christian. The majority of Muslims are in India (whom are caucasian by the way and closely related to Indo-Europeans). Learn your pre-history! Learn Eastern European history, there are plenty of Muslims in Russian, Bosnia, Bulgaria Albania and they are quite white. This ignorance irritate me so much!
It seems like the kettle calling the pot black. Look within to see your own hate.
When did Islam become a race? Its a religion composed of several races, from Balkan Europe, to Malaysia, to India, to Saudia Arabia. That is ridiculous as saying that Liberals are racists for criticizing Christians.
I love Bill O’Reilly he tells it like it is. More conservatives need a voice on liberal controlled tv. The more liberals call conservatives racist, the more they sound like the boy who cried wolf.
thats typical of a non-thinker. try going back to school and learn something about sociopathology. bill o is representative of how right ring religisoty drives irrational beliefs/fear and subsequential non-thinking.
Norman Scott,
Your post sounds like the ranting of someone who is educated just to the point that you actually think you’re intelligent. YOU should go back to school and learn something about real life, and about critical thinking. Or maybe going back to school would just make you even more messed up.
Maybe you should go back to school to learn to spell and while you’re there you can learn to think too.
Is Bill O’Reilly religious? Even if he was, why do you care? Are you not the same people who accuse us of being racist when we criticize Islamic extremists? This is kind of hypocrisy is called: “Don’t pee on my leg and tell me its raining!”
nah he can hold his own
I hate the view
I’m more worried about Catholic churches being built near, or worse, running, a school than I am a mosque near ground zero. What say you, Mr. Catholic O’Reilly?
When you start putting one made up religion over another, you look dumb. They all cause their share of misery.
Danny, you embarrassed yourself with a sweeping generalization. Do some homework.
Yeah, you should do your homework. You’d then see that all religions are based on some book, written by someone who “spoke to God” or “Saw the Light” or some other SUPERNATURAL phenomenon. So… What BOOK do you believe in? Do you really believe that there’s ANYTHING else other than the book itself? Anything that was not transmitted by oral tradition and later filtered/conjured by those who had specific interests in having a whole lot of people believe in what the BOOK said? To the point that believers of different BOOKS would go to war on behalf of their respective BOOKS??? Really? I believe in the value of books, but one cannot trust blindly in the content of a single book to orients one’s life. That’s all they are folks. Just books.
You do your homework – is most appropriate for you that you really need to do your homework. You see, the book is not a mere book written by an author or two, in as far as the Holy Bible is concerened. It is a compilation of a people’s recorded history which originally were orally transferred from one generation to the next. It is good that writing was developed, so the records could be better preserved.
Here, I would speak for myself. I was born and raised a Catholic, and didn’t really know God in a personal and intimate manner. I knew very little and wasn’t sure if God was even real. So I decided with a genuine desire to know once and for all if God is for real. As soon as I asked God to let me know Him truly, let me trust Him, and let me love Him, he answered immediately. He sent his workers my way, who led me to a Christian church where I started to read the Bible and learm more about God. Before I knew it, I developed a real hunger for God, and then I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and experience joy that only God can give, then I realized that I love Jesus so much. My experiences were beyond my wildest imagination and expectation, just because I asked to know God. I could think like you had I not decided to ask God first to let me know Him. When I first started reading the Holy Bible, it was very difficult for me to comprehend, until I got baptized in the Holy Spirit, that’s when the words in the Holy Bible became alive and seemed to jump out of the pages, figuaritvely speaking, with meaning so drastically significant.
Try it first, have a genuine desire to know God, before you lambast the Book. After all, Jesus came for the sick of the world, and not the well, and He said it meaning both literally and figuaritvely. I dare you seek God, then see if you can say about the Holy Bible as you did.
God bless you!
Danny-knownothing, you need to do YOUR homework. Many atrocities have been committed in the name of ‘religion’ and they’re not limited to only a few groups. When man starts to interpret ‘what god wants’ using his own standards nothing good ever comes of it. Power hungry individuals have always found that sheep are easily led if they are told ‘it’s god’s will’. It’s a fact of life and no religion is immune.
I think Danny’s kind of right, actually. I’m not a Marxist but one thing he said, and I paraphrase, is that religion was a tonic invented by the oppressed masses. Nobody wants to admit that when you’re dead, that’s it. No more.
Jack, the Marxists referred to religion, not as a tonic, but as the opium of the people, and to a certain degree, there are faith-based organizations that need to seek the one and only true God to lead them. Religion is not what Jesus wanted and He chastised and critized the Jewish religious leadership, and that is why they had Him crucified, without knowing that what they did is part of the fulfillment of prophesies in the Old Testament.
Faith in God is not religion. Religion is the practice of rituals and laws based on misguided belief system, especially if they are designed to pave for elitism among religious leadership, and unchecked financial gains for the religious leadership. Jesus did not enrich himself while teaching the ignorant and healing the sick, and giving back life to the dead.
“Religion is the opium of the people.” is a statement of Marx and I agree with him, because religion, as a practice of rituals and laws under the administration of the financially wealthy religious leadership, has led people not to question or fight against the economic disparity, exploitation, and suppression the people have been subjectected to by corrupt government and religious leadership. It is not for us to justify the wrongdoings of the past, but is for us to find the truth in faith and God, and we could not do it, without summoning God’s help through Jesus Christ.
This is a huge issue that could not be tackled in a few sentences. Our best bet is to seek God’s truth in Jesus Christ. If we come to know His teachings and follow them, we will all have a better quality of life, and the leadership themselves, will avoid abuse of power and corrupt practices at the expense of the general public, the masses. Though the temptation to do evil is very strong, raising genuine Christians is what this world needs.
I don’t get the point of your argument. This discussion is not about how “religion” is bad or not. It is about the hypocrisy from the Left.
I am against the demonization of Muslims. I grew up among Muslims. Many of them lovely, holy people. It is not Muslims I am outraged with, it is the leftist agenda in the United States. Who USE the Muslim people, and completely monopolize their cause.
The leftists are the same people who attack Catholics, Orthodox Jews, Mormons and Evangelicals merely because the majority of them are against gay marriage, pre-marital sex, abortion, euthanasia etc. Muslims are against these same things too. They are just as conservatives as Evangelicals, Orthodox Jews, Mormons Catholics etc They have more in common with us than with THEM (the atheist left).
I am outraged that the left has monopolized the Muslim cause in the name of what? “Oh, look at those quaint brown people, let’s protect them” “Oh, they are poor, lets go adopt their children.” This is the type of ignorance and naivite that astounds me coming from the left. They think that all Muslims are living in dirty hovels somewhere in the Middle East and that we are just the evil “white” Christians who want to oppress them. That is not the case at all. Muslims and Christians can be found on every continent, in every social economic level and in every colour of the human race. If anything, I think this type of attitude is insulting to Muslims! Yet you accuse Evangelical Christians, Catholics, Mormon for being bigoted “racist”, islamophobic homophobes! Well isn’t that interesting. Islam condemns homosexuality, so by your standards they are homophobes, but you would not accuse them of such because “they are quaint brown people who live in hovels somewhere in the Middle East” and it would be racist and islamophobic to accuse them of anything!
Another hypocrisy is that you are talking about the evils of religion while at the same time defending Islam. You are anti-Christian and not anti-religion.
Jack,
And I suppose you are also one of those who believes that the universe created itself out of nothing. How rational and intelligent.
Bud,
Another one who condemns Christians for dismissing evolution but defends Muslims who also debunk evolution….?? Ok. Stop using Islam as your weapon to protect your liberal atheist cause. It doesn’t work.
That is great! I love it when a Christian bigot of an atheist puts down the Catholic Church… Keep showing your true hateful self.. It just reaffirms my belief.
..and look again.. your opinion is on the low side.. wake up and join the human friggon race..
Fed-up, you need to be more specific on your comments, what it is that riles you up, instead of expletives, and hopefully this forum or blog spot could be a better arena to help us all be educated and enlightened.
remember that when the Islamic extremests blow you up.
The only acceptable bigotry in the US is anti-Catholicism. Thank you for your ignorant post. Go read this book:
http://www.amazon.com/New-Anti-Catholicism-Last-Acceptable-Prejudice/dp/B002QGSXK0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1287108731&sr=8-1
Maybe you ought to read the Koran (or Qur’an)in its entirety and note the order in which each passage was written. It began as peaceful but as the passages progressed in their time line of writing, it stated that Christians and Jews and anyone that did not convert to Islam were to be killed. Read the Koran if you do not believe it. That in essence states that all Muslims who believe in the Qur’an in its entirety are enemies of those who do not have the Islamic faith!
Muslims build traditionally mosques on the sites of their victories. The Dome of the Rock is a clue to what they attempting to do in New York.
If they are suppressed or overcome and can not win a battle or campaign, they are allowed to call a truce for a period of up to ten years, but make no mistake, the battle is not over ultimately until they are the victors. They allow a lie to get you to give them your trust but ultimately they are your enemies and want you eradicated in the name of Allah.
You idiots better get a little knowledge or you are doomed to extinction. They are here and they will not rest until Sharia Law is in force. You had better study up on that in its entirety as well because if you do not take a stand now, you will be living under it.
I do understand what you are saying here…but, even in the Bible, there are accounts of people being killed, especially in the Old Testament. How many people do you know who are Christians, would go and stone an adulturer to death? How many Christians do you know of would willingly let agree to cause death to there child because God told them to do so, as a sign of faith? (even though in the end it didn’t happen). Look at Ireland, the deaths of so many people…same God, but look at the divisiveness caused by one side being catholic and one side being protestant. You can’t put every muslim in the world under one banner. what about the klu klux klan? They believe in Jesus too! Are all Christians like them? Absolutly NOT!!! My doctor is a muslim and she is one of the most gentlest, sincere, inspiring woman and her virtue radiates from her!!! We need to stop generalizing. We need to be fair to the those whose faith has been marred by the actions of extremists.
You are probably a fanatic muslim!
Americans are so quick to forget the fact that it’s not even a mosque. I can’t get over how biased and ill-informed this country’s media is.
See, this type of “racist” “bigoted” “intolerant” attitude toward the Catholic Church is the exact hypocrisy I am referring to. It is people like you that fuel the hate of extreme right wingers into hating Muslims. You and the liberals are probably the biggest and sadest threat to Islam.
I don’t buy it. The walkout appears staged by Behar & Goldberg to grab some headlines heading into sweeps and onslaught of press for The Talk.
I don’t think Whoopie and Joy are “stunt” kind of gals. It’s simple chemistry: take a yahoo like Bill O (who it appears will say whatever is sure to grab the most headlines and would probably change his political orientation if the big money was there for him) and it’s sure to ruffle the feathers of liberals like Whoopie and Joy. I don’t really think The View is worried about The Talk. They have momentum and are not even going up against each other time-wise as far as I know.
I’m glad they walked out on O’Rilley. They should have done the same to Elizabeth a long time ago!
Notice Elizabeth Hastle-beck(lover) didn’t take Bill to task? Didn’t say shit?
Another right wing, religious fundy who backs up evil by saying nothing against his hate speech.
Arggg, you are a hypocrite. Because Joy and Whoopi walked out in the name of a religion too.
Hopefully those two walk off a very tall building, I can’t believe anyone watches this show.
You said it, Green Light. This is a non-story and its consumption is for the non-serious non-activists in our society who want bells and whistles instead of meaningful dialogue and change.
I think those ladies should repect eachother enough to let someone talk once in awhile..All that screaming is like a terrible anxiety filled thanksgiving dinner on a cruiseship for the overtalkers…..
Wow — could Whoopie and Worthless (Behar) give Bill more of their power? Guy sits in there like a champ against five unbearable hyenas, and WHO runs off stage?
Advantage Fox News.
Gee, let’s be objective now. Hyenas???
So, he tells them what he’s thinking and they walk off?
I don’t agree with O’Reilly, never have, but the show is called ‘The View’.
That is a good point, now I can’t choose a side.
O’Reilly Wins
they’ll do anything for ratings.
The walkout is just the kind of thing O’Reilly LOVES. He’ll milk that on his show for the next week and use it to plug whatever crappy book he’s currently plugging.
Bill O’Reilly is a racist hate-monger. I’m sure he would find some way to twist the fact that Hitler and the Nazis were Christian and perpetrated atrocities against the Jews. And it was Christians who owned, beat and lynched Native Americans and African slaves. He of course would call them extremists but is purposely too short sighted, elitist and hate-filled to see the reverse. Sadly, the world’s greatest atrocities have been committed in the name of godlike power. Bill O’Reilly is too big of a douche to acknowledge otherwise.
apparently you watch MSNBC and the kooks who run those puppets. Get a clue at least you can go ten minutes watching fox with hearing the comantator calling someone who does’nt share their view a vulgar name.
You realize you’re an idiot, right Tuesday?
I realize you must be one. Drawing a connection between the 9/11 terrorists and the people behind the mosque is no different than drawing a connection between the Pope and Holocaust. None. In fact fact the latter makes more sense because the Vatican actually did help the Nazis out and the Pope himself was in the Hitler Youth. The people behind the GSM, however, have absolutely nothing to do with al Qaeda.
Who is drawing a connection between the mosque and the 9/11 terrorists?
You see Sean, the problem seems to be that most terrorists are muslims. Is this just a coincidence?
The Catholic Church saved hundreds of little Jewish children and hundred of clergymen were gassed in the camps. You surely are an ignorant, racist, hate-monger.
No he’s actually right. The only idiots around here are the ones who think anything that slimes it’s way from FOX have any notion of truth in thier bones.
Tuesday,
Please shoot yourself, so the rest of us can sleep better knowing there’s one less idiot roaming the earth.
Tuesday, how can you accuse O’Reilly of being a racist hate monger when your entire comment is a hate mongering rant against Christians? I don’t know what history books you’ve been reading but Hitler and the Nazis were not Christian, at least anything remote resembling Biblical Christianity. Get a clue.
Just to add, I’m no fan of O’Reilly AT ALL.
Love your post on O Reilly View
Hitler was a Roman Catholic.
Hitler was no more Roman Catholic than Stalin was Georgian Orthodox! You are plain ignorant. He considered Christianity to be a “Jewish Consequences” He hated Christianity. Look it up!
Some Africans had slaves too (in Africa). So, it wasn’t just Christian whites who had slaves during the colonial period.
If one would study history instead of stating their opinion one would learn that the first slave owner in AMERICA was a black man!
I could care less what anyone else on here thinks, banter is a positive thing if we can all try to be some what open minded with our opinions, because they are just that, opinions. But history has a truth to it and for the man that said that the first slave owner in America was black… I don’t know what material you’re reading, or what poor unfortunate soul you learned that from, but that is absolutely false……. And would be as ludicrous as me telling you Hitler was a Jew…… Christianity has indeed been a guise for horrible crimes, as have many other religions…. Man kind no matter what shape or form or label we take will be creators of some form of injustice under the pretense of goodness, even in the name of God… A Mosque is a center for worship, and Muslim American’s suffered the same pain and shock from 9/11 as non Muslim Americans.. Whose to say someone of Muslim faith didn’t die in those towers as well?? Should they not be allowed to build a center for worship where they want? We should always try to look at things from many angles….
Lainey, I got something for you, a real American experience right here in the midst of USA.
AMERICAN CHRISTIAN MISSIONARIES ASSAULTED BY PRIVATE MUSLIM SECURITY IN DEARBORN, MICHIGAN
DURING THE ARAB FEST ’09.
THE VIDEOS ARE SCARY – IF YOU ARE AN AMERICAN CHRISTIAN, A FREEDOM LOVING AMERICAN, OR A MEMBER OF THE FREE WORLD. LET THE VIDEO TELL THE STORY – PICTURES ARE MORE POWERFUL THAN WORDS. WHERE IN THE U.S. WILL THE SHARIA LAW POP UP NEXT?
LISTEN, WHEN THE AMERICAN CHRISTIAM MISSIONARY SAID “THIS IS AMERICA.” TO WARN THE PRIVATE MUSLIM SECURITY GUARDS TO STOP PHYSCIALLY ASSAULTING THEM. A VOICE FROM BEHIND SAID: “NO WAY!”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEPod-hxD7g
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8GWwgjZhnM
See the video, and you decide where this country is headed for. Remember, it is just one incident in one area, but where next?
Lainey,
There’s already a mosque about four blocks away from that site. Do you seriously think that the area is so overrun with Muslims that yet another mosque is required at Groun Zero? It’s my understanding that there are about 100 mosques in the NYC area. So why is one AT THAT SITE such a necessity?
Jim you auditioning for a slot on FOX News? The FIRST slave owner in America was black, you say?
Then who were the first black people to come to America? Oh, that’s right, the first blacks to set foot on America soil were black SLAVES owned by white people! So blacks came to America as slaves, but somehow a black person had a black slave before a single black person came here?
Makes perfect sense. For white-nationalists desperately trying to revise history.
Does it hurt your head to have a mind so small?
See what happened in Deaborn, Michigan last year during an Arab Fest 09. Lots of info on youtube.
Defend the muslims right, you defend Sharia Law. See for yourself. Lots of info on the Internet. Then you will find there will be areas where your American freedoms won’t be respected right here in the U.S.
Good luck!
Hey Jim, It is called HIS-STORY NOT HISTORY,I KNOW YOU REALLY DO NOT BELIEVE THAT RIGHT..
Muslims and Jews owned Slaves too. Ever hear of David Benjamin, a Jewish man, vice president of the south.
So what are you saying??? Slaves that were under Africans jumped on a boat to come to America to be slaves to Whites.
Where is it that Whites enslaving people was okay? Just because one does it doesn’t make the other less.
You can’t justify slavery.
Maybe it’s time to have another civil war. Americans are so obsessed with the issue of racism, gay rights, religious freedom, civil liberties, anything that makes you think you are educated. And yet everyone seems to force his opinion on the other. Good for you AMERICANS. You are all hypocrites. You go Iran and complains when you get arrested for trespassing.
You impose democracy in Iraq where people’s culture is not suited for it.
Just look at the third world countries for one thing. They are paying so much for gasoline just because you people there are consuming too much. Globalization – poor people pay the price for what the rich had made the prices higher.
No. Nobody is justifying slavery. But you were justifying your bigotry toward Christians by saying they were slave-owners. Yes. Some were. Some were also Muslim and Jewish, Deist (a la Thomas Jefferson). Your point?
you obviously don’t watch his show and haven’t read his books. Until you do why are you saying anything about him. ignorance is bliss – liberals
Gee, talk about hate filled! Take a good look at yourself.
Tuesday,
When you are at the dinner table discussing politics and you disagree with someone’s polital stance on a “hot button” issue,do you throw down the fork and storm out of the room? These ladies walked off their own show. Pretty spineless.
For everyone who thinks I’m an idiot who needs to die, my point was Bill O’Reilly thinks all of Islam is bad based on 9/11 but doesn’t think all Christians are bad given the many atrocious acts some so-called Christians have done. He lumps and generalizes people into groups to so he can vilify them. And to the person who thinks I need to kill myself and/or die, grow up.
“Bill O’Reilly is a racist hate-monger. I’m sure he would find some way to twist the fact that Hitler and the Nazis were Christian and perpetrated atrocities against the Jews.”
Actually, I suggest you study your history. Hitler was baptized a Roman Catholic, but he was no more Catholic than Joy Behar.
It was apart of his whole plan to eradicate Christianity because he dubbed it a “Jewish Consequence.” He considered Christianity to be the sum of all Jewish evil that infected “true Germanic-ism.” He wanted to revive the ancient religions of the Germans and make that the state religion. Your statements are insulting to the clergy who were gassed in concentration camps merely because they were Christian.
“And it was Christians who owned, beat and lynched Native Americans and African slaves.”
It was also Muslims and Jews who owned African slaves. Ever hear of Benjamin David, vice-president of the South, a slave-owner, who was Jewish! Thomas Jefferson, a slave owner, was a Deist. None of them did it in the name of their religion.
“He of course would call them extremists but is purposely too short sighted, elitist and hate-filled to see the reverse. Sadly, the world’s greatest atrocities have been committed in the name of godlike power. Bill O’Reilly is too big of a douche to acknowledge otherwise.”
Some of the biggest atrocities have been committed in the name of “atheism.”
The incident does smell like a stunt, but it could easily be seen as example of two far left people who can’t debate someone who can hold his own. Nothing O’Reilly said was so outrageous … how often do these two co-hosts get challenged on their beliefs?
I’m not a Bill O’Reilly fan or supporter by any means, but I agree that the Mosque shouldn’t be built near Ground Zero. Of course they have the right to build it there, but given the context of what happened, it’s beyond insensitive. Why do they HAVE TO build it there? Because they can? That’s total bullshit. Life isn’t always as simple as black and white, sometimes it unfolds itself in various shades of grey.
“The Man” is right, when Whoopie and Joy ran off and threw a hissy fits like little children because they weren’t getting their way, all they did was make O’Reilly seem like he was right. Not to mention the fact that the crowd cheered for him when he said that a majority of Americans don’t want the mosque built near Ground Zero. Congrats ladies, you’ve officially been O’Reillyied.
And just for the record, every single person on that panel bugs me.
It used to be a Burlington Coat Factory. Is that really hallowed ground? So what’s an acceptable distance for you for an Islamic center to be built from Ground Zero? Five blocks? Six? Seven? How do you even figure out the acceptable distance?
Should we also block Churches from being built near the Oklahoma City Federal building?
This nation was founded on freedom of religion. That isn’t something you curtail because your feelings are hurt. There isn’t a clause in the constitution about freedom of religion for all “unless you don’t feel like it”.
I would say 4000 miles is an acceptable distance. By the way the one thing the first amendment does not protect is TREASON, and by definition Islam is treason if you take the oath of citizenship seriously.
Now Bill can’t be a racist but he could be a creedist if you like.
As for the nutjopb McVeigh, he was nit a religeous person but a militia person if you believe in that sort of thing. I guess its okay for the governemnt to burn Christians alive at Waco but not pursue enemy muslims who want to kill all of us.
So, you have found some sort of out clause in the First Amendment?
Well if you read the Constitution treason is the one crime mentioned in it specifically. Now since you are a liberal and most likely only read the Huffington Post or NY Times then its one document that you have never read or if you have do not understand plain English.
I will repeat. The first amendment does not protect treason. it does not protect it in the debate clause for congress so it does not protect it for Muslims, Christians et. al. to commit treason against the United States.
Yes, yelling “Fire!” in a crowded theater.
Or theatening to burn a Koran on television.
…apparently there are a few clauses to the First Amendment.
But how is Islam treason? Even taken seriously, Judeo-Christians faiths generally aren’t supposed to swear to anything that’s not religious or a sacrament.
Okay I’ll explain treason to you. Now Islam commands that you submit yourself to the faith first and against anyone that is not part of that faith. The oath of citizenship which many Muslim immigrants take say that you must swear allegiance to the United States above all a other things including creeds (faiths) or any foreign states or rulers.
Now a true Muslim by their own faith puts that ahead of their country regardless of any forsworn oaths. That is Treason against the United States. Major Hassan committed TREASON, the naturalized Paki that tried to blow up Times Square committed TREASON but the gutless Dept. of Justice and the Army don’t seem capable of charging any of these Muslim traitors with treason out of some PC liberal nonsense.
First, please don’t treat me like an idiot when I’m asking an honest question. You say, “Now Islam commands that you submit yourself to the faith first and against anyone that is not part of that faith.” Alright, the second part of that is debatable–other Islamic scholars say that Islam cannot be spread by the sword, and that’s the mainstream interpretation believed by most of the planet’s 1.5 Billion Muslims. To your first part, Christianity also says that you should put your faith first, above your wife, your children, cut off your left hand if your left hand will make you sin, etc. Does that make Christianity inherently treasonous? Of course not.
Basically, what you are saying about Islam isn’t any different than literal readings or strict interpretations of the Bible.
According to your description, almost any person could be considered treasonous, somehow or someway. But also, consider that treason is an action, not a belief. If I believe and say terrible things against the United States based on my personal beliefs (religious or otherwise), that’s my right. If I take up arms to overthrow the government, that’s treason. I’m not going to disparage some of our nation’s most talented citizens and workers by calling them all treasonous.
Also, to move this outside the religious spectrum, we didn’t charge Timothy McVeigh with treason even though he was explicitly trying to overthrow the Federal government by attacking a Federal building. It’s not a matter of being PC or whatever. If you can get someone on murder charges or terrorism charges, they are still going away for life. All of these guys are getting nailed on Federal crimes, right? So what’s the point of charging them with something as amorphous as “treason”?
@Ki: Have you surveyed 1.5 billion Muslims? If not, how do you know what the majority of Muslims think of the Quran in the passages that denote deceiving non-believers and spreading the religion by sword?
If the majority of Muslims did not feel positive towards conversion of the sword, one would think that Al-Qaeda would have no safe haven in Muslim countries. At the very least, they would extradite the terrorists. At the most optimistic level, they would try terrorist organizers and funders in court and punish them. At a really dark level, the peaceful believers would shout down the terrorist supporters or jihad against them.
Ki,
Islam WAS spread by the sword. Do you seriously think that all those folks in such a widespread area of the world spontaneously just decided to become Muslims?
Did you not read the scripture in the Bible which says to submit yourself to your earthly ruler(s)? To Ceasar what is Ceasar’s, etc. That does not sound to me quite like today’s Islamic fanatacism.
McVeigh was trying to “overthrow” the government by bombing one building? Get serious. If he thought he could accomplish that with such a puny action, then he was more seriously mentally ill than anyone could have imagined. There’s an old joke that goes back decades—”No one could possibly overthrow our government. There’s just way too much of it.” He’d have had to destroy about a thousand such buildings to even make a start.
You said, “All of these guys are getting nailed on Federal crimes, right? So what’s the point of charging them with something as amorphous as ‘treason’?” You sound to me like someone who would support the amorphous “hate-crime” legislation. However, even though President Bush supported the death penalty for those idiots in Texas who dragged the black man to death behind their truck, he was denounced as a racist, and worse, because he did not support “hate crime” legislation. Well, how much more of a penalty could they get than death?
Think about some of those positions once in a while….
Wreckage from the planes landed in that Burlington Coat Factory so yes, it is hallowed ground.
Oklahoma had nothing to do with religion. McVeigh said so himself. He angry at the Federal government for things like Waco and Ruby Ridge. 9/11 was all about religion. Do your homework.
Not one person is saying that there is no right for the mosque to be there. They’re saying there is no need for it to got there.
Rick –
You’re lying.
Nate,
Just where is Rick lying? I did not see any lies in his post. Be specific and show what is a lie and why it is a lie. Thank you.
Doesn’t anyone understand that these muslim extremist want their religion to be the only religion in the world? So yea, let’s let them build their religion all over America and start killing us off if we don’t convert because that’s what their religion tells them to do. If they kill unbelievers they go to heaven. If they kill themselves in the process they get 7 virgins in heaven.
I do think they were wrong to get up and leave. They should have waited for O’Reilly to get done with his stuff and calmly have pointed out all the places he was wrong.
1. Muslim extremists attacked the WTC. Lumping all Muslims into the villain category is ignorant at best.
2. They are not and never were going to build a Mosque on that site. It’s a community center. It has a gym, pool, meeting rooms and, yes, a prayer room but it is NOT a mosque.
3. We keep calling that hallowed ground. I guess it’s OK, though, that there are two strip clubs within site of the proposed center.
1. Bill did not say “all Muslims attacked the WTC. He said “Muslims.” There were 19 of them.
2. Valid point.
3. No one thinks that this area requires moral purity. I (and a lot of others) feel it is insensitive for a “Muslim Community Center” to be built in the shadow of where Muslims (see #1) killed close to 3000 people in the name of (their extreme views of) the Muslim religion.
They have a right. No one is arguing that. It’s a question of should they? Are all parties better off with it in that location or are some people getting hurt in the process? Don’t you think a lot more good will would be earned if they acknowledged the sensitivity issue and chose another location? They’re not being run out of town, they’re being asked to not build there. (And for the record “they” means the people building the Community Center, who happen to be Muslim. Not “all Muslims.” I don’t want to be accused of being a “racist hate monger”
Something to think about. What will be the next Constitutional Right American Muslims will be expected to give up if they cave here?
There is already a mosque about four blocks from that site. There is no need for another one so close. There are not thousands of Muslims in that immediate area clamoring for a place to pray. And, yes, it will be a mosque. “Community center” is a nice cover.
Many of the large, new churches today contain gymnasiums, etc., etc. They’re still churches. Calling them “community centers” does not change that.
Two strip clubs “within site”? That would mean that the site would contain two strip clubs. Really? The building was struck by debris from one of the planes, so, yeah, the building is hallowed ground. That would not include everything “within site” (did you mean “sight”?). Why do you think the property was purchased at such a bargain price? The price dropped by some $10 million after it was damaged by those peace-loving Muslims’ plane.
I worked at the World Trade Center and I was in school directly across the street from it on 9/10/01, I just might know a little something about this subject.
The individuals that argue against building a mosque near ground zero are in control of the debate but it doesn’t mean they are right.
All of you should know the following facts:
1) What is being built is a cultural center that has a mosque on the premises.
2) The building will be 13 stories tall and is small in comparison to many buildings near it.
3) There was a mosque at the World Trade Center that was destroyed.
4) Most important, the cultural center will be 2 to 3 blocks away from ground zero in what once was a Burlington Coat Factor store that wasn’t destroyed.
If you are listening to people that are saying a mosque will be looming over ground zero and desecrate sacred ground – ask yourself why would they exaggerate about this subject. The items I just listed can be looked up very easily. Do your research and then argue from a place of knowledge not fear and ignorance.
Sincerely,
Nate (I live near and experienced 9/11)
“The items I just listed can be looked up very easily. Do your research and then argue from a place of knowledge not fear and ignorance.”
Right on, thank you, Nate!
OK. Let’s see if I have this right…according to many of these folks, Muslims should not worship near the site because crazy people calling themselves Muslims killed people there. Ok then in that case there should be no Christian places of worship near Family Planning centers, Salem Massachusetts, anywhere slaves were killed (yes, the owners did use the Bible to justify their terror and enslavement) Gee, this could go on forever…oh yeah, it probably will. By the way…it is not intended to be a Mosque; it’s intended to be a community center. All right, let the ripping begin on my comment now. Isn’t being hateful tiresome?? I’d rather use my energy in more productive and positive ways, but that’s just me. Peace.
There are many muslims who have voiced that, perhaps, building a mosque near ground zero is not the best thing to do… just because of the timing and the sensitivities of Americans in this difficult period.
Nellie (and many other people):
it’s despicable racists like O’Reilly that propagated the lie that Cordoba House is a mosque. It’s a community centre that incorporates many different activities, including a prayer room, like you would have a chappel in Universities or Hospitals.
Besides, good on Behar and Whoopie for walking out. They should have been more vocal and call this douche racist to his face.
Actually, it is a community center with a mosque inside. Their own literature calls it a mosque. Not that it matters.
actually it would be neither. it would be a monument to the victory of muslim terrorists. and why do you people yell racist to people that don’t want the monument or reminder built? has nothing to do with race or religion.
For the nth time. ISLAM IS NOT A RACE.
good job Bill. He showed them by holding his ground. They were the ones that ran off. HA. I’d like to see Nikki FINKI remove this post. Come on NIkkie. I know you can’t stand posters who support him or anyhing that isnt left wing.
oh please, the right-wing perspective always takes up plenty of real estate over here at DHD, even the completely irrelevant and incoherent posts. I guarantee you Nikki allows for more diverse opinions than your typical neo-con site.
“Muslims killed us on 9/11″ <- FACT. It's a FACT. It's only offensive had he said "ALL Muslims killed us on 9/11." which he didn't. People need to stop being so offended by FACTS because they're hyper-sensitive and want to pretend to be perfectly politically correct.
Defining them by their religion is the problem. Wehter it’s a fact or not is irrelevant.
It’s like saying a Christian blew up the building in Oklahoma City. Or a Jew was responsible for the Son of Sam killings. The Muslim religion had NOTHING to do with 9/11. It was fanatical extremist terrorists. By saying “Muslims” did it the clear implication was that the Muslim religion played a part in 9/11 when it dit not.
While I agree that not all quite all the world’s Muslims hijacked the planes on 9/11 (there were a few that stayed home that day), I think there is a genuinely legitimate distinction between 9/11 and the other murders you mentioned because the extremists that perpetrated the 9/11 attack did so in the name of their religion.
Had David Berkowitz claimed that he was killing people in the name of Moses, or that Timothy MccVeigh had blown up the OC Federal Building because the Bible instructed him to…we’d probably label them as religious extremists.
The Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda was widely known as a Radical Christian Terroist organization. They took a pretty heafty backseat to Paris Hilton’s sex tape and LiLo’s addictions so American News didn’t report a whole lot on them (and besides, who’s afraid of a terrorist group that just attacks people in an African country?).
It just so happened that a group of asshats decided to fly a couple of planes into a building in the largest city in America all in the name of Allah…you can see why folks may get a hard-on for labeling them Muslim Extremists…
But the religion kinda did play a part, because the terrorists did it in the name of their religion and they believed they would be martyred and sent to the heaven of their religion by doing what they did.
Now… It may not be the mainstream view of most people of that religion, just as Jim Jones wasn’t mainstream. But he still acted in the name of religion. So it did play “a part.”
That’s the problem here. It’s all gray. It’s equally unfair to say the religion played NO PART as it is to say it was perpetrated by all members of the religion. That’s why these blow up arguments happen, because people want to entrench all the way on one side or the other.
So, by this argument, any Catholic organization who wishes to build a community center should have the permit revoked because they share the same religious beliefs of the hundreds of child molesting priests in the US?
If the Catholic organization is proposing to build said community center in the vicinity of say… an elementary school where priests had molested 2,752 of the students, then I would say yes.
Ok then. So you’re against the further construction of ANY Catholic facility in Boston then?
The problem here is wher they want it built somewhere else fine!
I’d be fine if the Catholic Church stopped building churches… I think they have enough as it is.
How can you say being a Muslim had nothing to do with 9/11?? That’s an ignorant statement. Just as ignorant if someone said that ALL (or most) Muslims are evil.
Who know what’s also true? “Men killed us on 9/11! Therefore we should attack men!” That’s the level of idiocy of your statement. Something can be factually correct and yet intellectually dishonest. There are 1.5 billion Muslims and we were attacked by 19. Here’s a graph to help you understand that: http://imgur.com/0owg3.jpg
Christians attacked us in Oklahoma City and flew a plane into an Austin, Texas IRS building. Go scream about that for a while. I’m not offended by your facts; I’m offended by your stupidity.
Erik your post is nonsensical. The muslims on 9/11 killed Americans in the name of Islam. McVeigh and the guy in Austin were killers who happened to be Christian. Their attacks, while horrible, had nothing to do with their faith. Watch a little bit more MSNBC and try to find some talking points that actually apply to the topic.
Trey, while the muslims that committed suicide that day may have done so in the name of Islam, they were organized and sent by terrorists as terrorists. Bill deliberately called them muslims rather than terrorists. He is a racist and he works for a network that has always played the racist card. A Pox on Fox.
Wow Daniel, nice try but no person with a functioning brain is going to by that load of bull. And do you really want to talk about playing the race card? I’ll bring up how that miserable failure of a president played the race card to get elected.
Please tell me exactly when has the president played the race card? When you falsely accuse the President of playing the race card, YOU are the one playing the race card. The president got elected because he was the stronger candidate.
Should we condemn all Christians or anti-abortion activists as murders because of what happened to George Tiller?
With Islam and Christianity, we need to differentiate between believers and crazy people. It’s not semantics.
There are so many things wrong with the right wing talking points about the Park 51 project. Let’s start with a question that one would think would be obvious to all but the willfully obtuse. Did anyone involved with Park 51 have any direct involvement in the 9/11 attacks? If not, then why are they being expected to forfeit their Constitutionally protected religious freedoms to atone for something that they didn’t actually do? Collective punishment of US citizens who happen to share a religious or ethnic identity with non-Americans who commit a crime is something that should have stopped after the shameful disgrace of the Japanese internments. It’s easy for people like O’Reilly to advocate for collective punishment based on religious or ethnic bigotry because he will likely never suffer the consequences of his own rhetoric.
And here I thought it was SAUDI ARABIANS who committed the acts of 9/11.
Go Bill. Both Whoopie and Joy, neither live up to their names. They both are grand standers and drama queens. Bill is 100% correct and he echos my feelings exactly.
What UNBEARABLE harpies Joy and Whoopie are! I cannot IMAGINE any man wanting to spend more than 5 minutes with either of these two shrill, uninformed, irrational, BITTER, old women. Can’t even have a conversation with someone of an opposing viewpoint without storming off like petulant children. Ahhh, that wonderful liberal tolerance on display.
So men can act like loudmouth, overbearing, bullying idiots and bray their nonsense day and night on television, but women aren’t allowed to have an opinion? Sounds like sexist horsesh!t to me.

I read Deadline at least four times a day but I guess I’m not a “real” reader because I think Joy And Whoopi looked like petulant little brats who tried to take their ball and go home.
Suzanne, having gone to Catholic school and living in a Christian country founded by Christians, I think you’re f*cking nuts. Methinks you have more of a problem with Christians in general than children being brought up (with morals and values) in a Catholic school.
O’Reilly was spot on. Whether anyone likes to admit it or not the 19 hijackers on 9-11 were not just Muslims who happened to have a plan, they carried out a sophisticated attack in the name of their religion, plain and simple. Sure, Timothy McVeigh called himself a Christian, but he didn’t profess to blow up that building in the name of Jesus. Being that the Muslims who attacked us and continue to fight us do so specifically in the name of Muhammad and Allah makes a huge difference, and that Mosque should never ever be built near ground zero. It just goes to show how totally tasetless and classless Islam really is.
Christian nation founded by Christians? You need to read some history books.
Are you serious? Recommend some books, please. Cuz no matter how much we like to try and deny it in modern times, the fact of the matter is that this nation was founded primarily by “god-fearing” people who expected to live in a Protestant Christian agrarian society. That’s just the facts. That doesn’t mean every single person in 1700 Colonial America was a Christian. But the majority of settlers in North America at that time considered themselves Christian. Why do you think there’s so many churches every where you look up and down the East Coast — and thousands that are more than 200 years old. Why do you think blue laws exist? Why was so much of American society built around a calendar that highlighted Sunday services and Christian holidays, etc… Etc… And just who do you think the Declaration of Independence was referring to when the drafters wrote about the “laws of nature and of Nature’s God.” and being “endowed by their Creator”
They of course were referring to a Christian god, because that’s just what the majority believed in. And that’s a matter of fact not opinion.
Doesn’t mean things didn’t change along the way. Just saying… that’s how they started.
Not true. Leaving aside the truth that most of the Founding Fathers were deists (and more than a few were straight up agnostics), the majority of 18th Century Americans did not formally belong to any church. A cursory study of of church records would bear this out. Colonies such as Connecticut and Maryland weren’t formed as Christian utopias, but instead as purely commercial enterprises. Let’s also not forget that Catholics and Quakers also lived here, so this fantasy about America being purely Protestant Evangelical is exactly that, a fantasy.
what fuckin history books are you reading? grow a brain. 87% christian in recent polls and founding fathers were christians trying to practice their belief in christ in their own way, not the church of england’s way. if the history books you grew up on say otherwise you’ve been duped. hell, i learned that in a PUBLIC high school. dumbshit.
Were any of the people involved with the Park 51 mosque directly involved with the 9/11 attacks? Why should they be treated as if they were?
Sorry, truth hurts – but you speak not the truth. This country was, in fact, founded by Deists – who believed in God but not in the divinity of Christ. It’s very nice to believe that we were founded by Christians, but we were not. And, BTW – I *am* a Christian.
I saw this video, and I have to say the O’Reilly did, in fact, say “Muslims” attacked the Trade Center. It was right that he apologized for that statement, because it was extremists, or terrorists, that attacked us.
In fifty years, O’Reilly, Beck, Palin, Coulter, Hannity, and Limbaugh will all be collectively forgotten, placed on a shelf with Goebbels, Jim Jones, and other half-baked personalities who worked hard to keep human beings in a lesser-advanced state that they themselves could profit from it (like the parasites they are).
Meanwhile, in fifty years people will still be watching and loving movies like GHOST, probably via conduit hooked to their brains and delivered over a wristwatch while they fly around Mars in one of Branson’s rigs.
O’Reilly, Beck, Palin, Coulter, Hannity, and Limbaugh: Enjoy it all while you can, because the human race (and history itself) is soon going to shit you all out, back into the place you belong.
Wow, a Nazi comparison. How original. You should call them racists too, that seems to be a left-wing favorite these days. If you want to see people profiting from keeping “humand beings in a lesser-advanced state” why don’t you start with that race whore Jesse Jackson and his moronic pal the “Reverend” Al Sharpton?
He’s a putz that just encouraged more hate crimes against Muslims. I’m Catholic and his behavior and words are deplorable. Fuck him.
oh i guess that when the “extremists” where screaming ala akbar(god is great) that has nothing to do with anything. mcvay did not kill for god neither did son of sam
A good batholic too I bet
That was such a blatant stunt at grabbing headlines.
Are they really that worried about The Talk? They’re not even in the same timeslot.
Even so, Baba Wawa was correct that it’s that washing of hands, walking away type of thing that keeps people from understanding each other in calm situations. Bill came out the more mature of the two sides (and that isn’t necessarily hard to do).
O’Reilly looks like a chickenshit back pedalling from his “Muslims killed us on 9/11″ by saying “Muslim Extremists Killed us on 9/11.” Christ, Bill, if you’re going to be an asshole, at least be one with a backbone. What a jackass.
– More chickenshit than Whoopie and Joy, right?
They are a bunch of talentless cunts. O’Reilly, and the rest of the ladies.
And it’s not a FACT that Muslims killed us on 9/11! do your RESEARCH instead of trying to create a false reality with your racist and biased television shows and films! if you were to read a newspaper or pick up a book, you would know that the “terrorists” had ties to the US GOVERNMENT! who profited immensely from this “attack”? the US GOVERNMENT, the military, the Bushes, etc. you are just as dumb as the people who believe O’Reily’s statistic that “70%” of Americans don’t want a “mosque” built near the WTC. let’s not even mention that there are already mosques within blocks of the proposed site, that Muslims died during the 9/11 attacks, in addition to numerous other things that would debunk this entire debate. this is all to keep our country divided and fighting about things that keep us distracted from the real problems threatening the future of our country.
How did the Bushes directly profit?
Yeah, the Government sure has profited from the 9/11. Take a look around, the economy is what it is mostly because of 9/11 and the governments reactions (war, bailouts, ect.) Everyone is poorer.
I’m guessing 70% of people sampled said that a Mosque on Ground Zero wouldn’t be the best idea. Duh. Sure they are allowed to, but is it smart?
If this is what happens, then could we please have Bill O’Reilly on The View every day?
Whoopie wasn’t mad, though. She was late for filming of Theodore Rex 2.
