Ally Walker has been tapped as the lead in Lifetime’s drama pilot Exit 19. The project, from writer Jeff Bell, follows single mother Gloria Shepherd (Walker) as she juggles her demanding personal and professional lives raising two children while working as a New York Police Department homicide detective. The project, from ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios, was originally developed at CBS during the 2007-2008 season when it was ordered as a pilot presentation with Geena Davis as the lead. Walker, who starred on NBC’s Profiler and HBO’s Tell Me You Love Me, has recurred as ATF Agent June Stahl on the FX drama Sons of Anarchy.

Sounds interesting. Have always had a celeb crush on this chick. Hope the pilot works out.
Aloha, please tell Ally that I’m really excited to see her in a different role. Can you tell me when this is set to air, so I can mark my calendar? Mahalo!
Always been a fan of Ally Walker, but when I saw her on Good Day LA last week she could barely move her face. She needs to layoff whatever she’s doing to it.
I agree. I could hardly stand her after seeing her in “Sons of Anarchy.” Her face is plastic. Frankly when they’re in a close-up, it’s almost laughable how ridiculous she looks.
LAY OFF THE BOTOX OR WHATEVER YOU’RE DOING!!!
yes, even aging, her face was very attractive and appealing. Now…ugh! And she can act, so who convinced her it was a good idea and to continue doing so?
does anyone care that she is married to the president of FX? Not saying she doesn’t deserve the part, but I’m guessing she got a little help.
Ally is a wonderful actress. Love her voice! Looking forward to checking out this show. But I hope it brings something new/different to the genre. You say single, I hear woman with no life outside her kids & job. You say two children, I hear: annoying teenage angst (probably a girl, cute & slutty) & a smart, sensitive, shy troubled pre-teen (probably a boy). Anyway, hope they can tell a compelling story.
When you turn 50 in this biz, it always helps if your spouse runs a network…i.e. John Landgraf aka Mr. Ally Walker
She was amazing in ‘Moon Over Miami’, ‘Profiler’, ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ and of course ‘Sons’. So looking forward to the new show.
I’m with the others commenting … I’m really happy for her success. She always seemed the underdog and deserving of more… she’s been on a roll lately which is awesome. She’s a real talent.
She was great in “Tell Me You Love Me” (short-lived, I know, but really good). I think this looks like a promising new show.
Would you argue that Andrea Wong laid the groundwork for these new series? Obviously she is no longer at the net, but I think the rebranding has really helped; there is now a refreshing, new angle, and I think (although I haven’t confirmed) that their demo has bent slightly. It’s probably much more sophisticated. And I find it especially interesting that, through their advertising, they’re making a sharp delineation between Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network (the traditional, melodramatic fare that made them famous).
Anyway, I like Ally Walker, and I have high hopes for “Exit 19.”
Ally should’ve been cast in the Criminal Minds spin off as her Profiler character……. how intriguing that would be, yes!??!
Ally was a beautiful woman-inside and out. Her face had character, now it has none. She looks like a different person. I knew her pretty well and I was only able to recognize her by her voice and her hair. What a crying shame, what Hollywood does to people. I can’t believe she did this too herself – she was way to smart a chick for this kind of crap. Get out of LA and get back to NYC where you belong and people are real, not made of plastic
