Maya Entertainment and Open Window Films have acquired The Jesuit, an action drama written and to be directed by Paul Schrader. Production is set to begin in early March 2011. Michelle Rodriguez, Willem Dafoe and Paz Vega star in the film, about a man who exits prison in south Texas and returns to a violent life. The Jesuit will be produced by John Morrissey, Santiago Garcia Galvan and Alex Garcia.

Tough-guy bad-ass guy’s son gets, yes, abducted into some form of child slavery and taken into Mexico, guy tracks down son and kills a bunch of people along the way with the help of a stripper-with-a-heart-of-gold (wish I were kidding).
Yawn. Snore. Zzzz.
People stop making “Taken” clones, and if you do, have the courtesy of not recycling every known cliche.
