UPDATE: Idris Elba, formerly an ICM client, signed with UTA after taking meetings with the other major agencies. (Elba is the British actor who just signed to play Alex Cross in David Twohy’s Cross based on the James Patterson novels, and stars in the 6-part BBC mini-series Luther playing another maverick cop.) Elba is repped by UK agent Roger Charteris, manager David Schiff, and attorney Fred Toczek.
ICM just signed Robin Antin and the Pussycat Dolls. The agency will represent the brand across the board (touring, television, licensing, etc.)
WME is denying that Kanye West has left: “He is still a client.” But other agencies say he’s taking meetings and may soon be out the door, diamond teeth and all.
Cuba Gooding Jr went back to CAA from Gersh.
Affion Crockett, writer/producer/star of Fox’s upcoming untitled Jamie Foxx sketch comedy series, has signed with CAA. He is managed by Brian Dobbins at Principato Young and his attorney is Bianca Levin. Crockett was previously repped by Global Artists Agency.
ICM recently promoted four — Evan Dick, Shade Grant, Zach Iser, and Kathleen Remington — to agent. Dick and Grant work in the international television and media department, reporting to Greg Lipstone. Dick continues to work with Nick Khan in ICM’s sports and news broadcaster biz. Grant focuses on producers and talent. Remington is an agent in the motion picture lit department reporting to Nicole Clemens. And Iser works in the New York division of ICM’s concerts department.
