Outspoken anchor Lou Dobbs is returning to television a year after his public exit from CNN. He has signed a multi-year deal with the fledging Fox Business Network where will develop and host a new daily program that will launch in the first quarter of 2011. He will also appear on a number of FBN programs for analysis and commentary. ”Fox Business has always been about putting the smartest, most interesting people on television and the addition of Lou Dobbs will serve to strengthen the best lineup in business news,” the network’s EVP Kevin Magee said. “Teaming Lou with Managing Editor Neil Cavuto will make FBN a tough network to beat.” Dobbs previously served as an anchor, managing editor and EVP at CNN, hosting various programs including Moneyline, which premiered in 1980 and was later renamed Lou Dobbs Tonight. With his controversial opinions, especially on immigration, Dobbs became a lightening rod at the cable news network, leading to his resignation last November. For the past year, he continued to host his radio show while also making TV appearances, mostly on Fox News Channel. With his business background and strong opinions Dobbs appears to be a good fit for Fox News Channel’ sister business network, which is trying to make inroads against dominant player in the business TV news space CNBC. It is not clear what the new gig would mean for the possibility of him running for office in 2012.

Amazing how incompetence and crassness rises to successful heights. Dobbs, unfortunately, has the survivor instinct of a cockroach surviving a nuclear bomb. Glad to see his new home, on Fox, will give him similar minded troglodytes/ mental midgets to rub elbows with.
this is the perfect match.
Great! More five day-a-week “Send-Em-All-Back-To-Mexico-Except-The-Ones-That-Work-For-Me-On-My-Ranch”!
He’ll fit in great with all the other hypocrites at News Crap.
Perfect fit. CNBC will whip FBC with its money honeys, ESPN vibe and lightning fast news. Oh, and it won’t use a political agenda to tell us what’s really going on in the business world.
Will Mister Populist America talk about the fact that the stock market is nothing more than a corrupt pyramid scheme? Or will he mesmerize viewers with multiple flagpins on his lapel?
Is “Outspoken” a euphemism for Racist?
Rupert Murdoch is a genius.
A mature white American male actually reporting current events with valid commentary to boot? Apparently your readers don’t like that sort of diversity.
What’s his being white have to do with anything? His comments may be valid to you, but to many others his comments are crap -and this is why he wiis a perfect fit at Fox News. Diversity. Yeah. Good luck with that — he’ll join all of the other “diverse” people at Fox News. You know: Blacks, Hispanics and Gays. Oh. WOOPS! Not many of those at Fox News. Enjoy.
Have watched Lou for some time and am glad he has found a GOOD new home. I’m sure he will much more good on Fox that any other place. Would like his email address so I can correspond on a particular topic of mutual interest. Welcome HOME!!!! LOU BOGDAN
Yea..he’s back! I was hoping FOX would snatch him up. Dobbs is one of my favorite commentators.
Good move!!
Defiantly a great match!
