Robert De Niro is a worthy choice for the DeMille award. He may well be America’s greatest actor over the past several decades, and his work with Tribeca and humanitarian organizations adds to his accomplishments as a filmmaker.
Enjoy the Golden Globes, Robert De Niro!

Well, okay, maybe 10 years ago then… I mean, it isn’t the drivel he made for Milleneum or the dumb thrillers that suddenly merited the tip o’ the hat now, was it? It was the Scorsese films, Deer Hunter, his own directorial efforts, and Tribeca… Oh, sorry, and the Amex commercials, how could we forget those!?!
:~p

I think people need to stop hating on DeNiro. Sure not all of his recent films have been great. But I think his ability to carry a successful comedy franchise like “Meet the Parents” just adds to his overall, versatile body of work. He is a true craftsman in every sense of the word. I mean, his amazing “Godfather II” performance warrants this award alone. Congrats Bob!

I wasn’t hating – I was actually being serious when I cited his Rupert Pupkin and The Plumber characters. Underrated, much?
