Pierce Brosnan is returning to television with an investigative thriller from veteran ER writer-producer Jack Orman and Sony Pictures Television that will likely go straight to series. Orman has written a pilot script for the ex-007′s project, which Sony is shopping to international broadcasters with the goal to land pre-sales elsewhere before taking it to U.S. networks. The untitled drama centers on a “fixer,” private investigator specializing in international crisis intervention who is called in to help solve homicides, abductions, financial schemes and other crimes anywhere in the world. It is largely based on the real-life experiences of international PI Logan Clarke, head of the Los Angeles-based Clarke International Investigations. Producer Keri Selig started things off on the project when she took Clarke to Irish DreamTime, Brosnan’s production company with Beau St. Clair. Brosnan, St. Clair and Selig will executive the series with Orman. Brosnan won’t play the lead but is expected to have a smaller role on the show in the vein of Hugh Jackman’s involvement on Viva Laughlin, which also was produced by Sony TV. Brosnan’s only previous major TV series gig was his starring role on the 1982 NBC adventure dramedy Remington Steele. Last season, Orman wrote the Sony TV-produced pilot Matadors at ABC. Brosnan and Orman are with CAA.

This sounds like a marvelous concept and will lend itself to international co-productions. A great vehicle for Brosnan BUT I
wonder who starred in “Manions of America” on abc if it wasn’t Pierce. That was a magnificent three part mini-series based on historical fact. But then, if one can’t spell the word “Thriller” how can you do research.
Can’t wait to see how this will do.
King. Mrs. King.
That was just done??? one of those cable networks which fortunately I can’t remember. It was cancelled!!.really sorry, that an interesting actor sold out for the money….had to be the only reason for doing this kind of crap…
sounds like a big budget, more star centered version of TNT’s leverage. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but can’t Brosnan find something better for himself?
Sorry, but that’s a ridiculous attitude. If you haven’t noticed the line between television and movie involvement has blurred considerably the past few years and some of the most powerful drama is being produced for television (Check our HBO’s recent successes and even James Franco’s recent stints on ABC’s “GENERAL HOSPITAL”). … If you are personally doing better, please tell us about your own performing career.
I would watch this. I love Brosnan.
If this series is just one part of Logan’s life than it should be a thrilling international crime drama. Mr Brosnan should be incredible in this series. I have met Logan and his life is the stuff great drama is made of. I am thrilled that this project is happening.
This sounds great! Cant wait to see Pierce on TV!

You are likely referring to The Philantropist , that quite dreadful Ben-Coke-Nose NBC abortion starring James Purefoy in 2009, where super-billionaire Teddy Rist travels the world to “fix” poor 3rd world countries that all look like a South African backlot.
Oh, but I liked Remington Steele! Too bad Pierce couldn’t do it on the big screen!
Shouldn’t the title of the article be “Remington Steele’s Pierce Brosnan Headed Back to TV”?
How about the fact that the same concept was done more than 20 years ago…. Anyone remember The Equalizer with Edward Woodward? BORING.
I dislike sniping exchanges on blogs, so don’t wish to trigger any here. Yet, I feel compelled to respond to what seems a flippant dismissal of either the former TV show, The Equalizer or the potential for this upcoming project with Pierce Brosnan & company (or both?)
Perhaps the name “Kosher Cop” indicates personal experience with such harrowing investigations (as detective or crime writer) which in turn give this commenter a more critical view towards shows of this genre.
Although i have some personal knowledge of international intrigue,
my perspective is primarily of a viewer thirsty for intelligent scripts: complex premise, well-drawn characters, compelling dialogue — delivered with emotional honesty by the actors.
In both comedic and dramatic roles, Pierce Brosnan’s performances exemplify these qualities, and he continues to broaden his range as he also brings worthy projects to light as a producer.
a. what other contributors have posted about the fascinating career of the investigator upon whose escapades this new series will based;
b. the great track record of the creative team involved;
and,
c. with no dearth of high stakes schemes in our increasingly dangerous world — from corporate skulduggery to brazen piracy and political mayhem,
I see good reason to anticipate intricate plot-lines, developed and executed with finesse.
{As for The Equalizer, besides a magnificent lead actor and many excellent supporting players, I was grateful for the fragile idealism of its premise that an experienced spy could be prompted by ambivalence toward some of former dealings or private failures to use his skills for altruistic purpose.}
This should be a great series as I have worked with Logan Clarke around the world on many cases. I have written a book ‘The Retriever’ published in Australia by Harper Collins. the book outlines some of the cases that we have both been on.

Logan is an amazing individual and great character. I truly believe if they can capture his essence, then the show will be wonderful!
Yes thank you. pierce brosnan is my favorite actor and i was thinking to myself that he should do a tv show. also what is the reason he isnt the lead? what happened to hugh jackman on viva laughlin?
Sorry, but just to let you folks know, and all concerned parties, that the Logan Clarke character is already taken in my script entitled PRIVATE EYE, the big-screen pilot for my new TV series entitled LOGAN CLARKE, P.I., Clint-Eastwood director, James Fargo, to direct soon as I’m able to get funded. This has been ongoing for nearly two years. My fmr associate from Goliath Promotions, Maureen Cooper, has already discussed this with NBC, who has asked for first look at the finished product.

Yes, it would be fun to see Pierce on this new TV show. It is good he is staying active and remains popular.
In the mean time, my wife and I remain patient for another long over due Thomas Crown by Pierce and his Irish Dream Time. Crown was one Pierce’s BEST non-Bond films. I have read recently that Pierce hasn’t come accross a good enough Crown script yet.
