Distribution has been set for The Perfect Age of Rock N’ Roll, the drama directed by Scott Rosenbaum that stars Kevin Zegers, Jason Ritter, Taryn Manning and Peter Fonda. Red Hawk Films will release theatrically next year, and Entertainment One has acquired home video, TV, VOD and digital rights to a film that has played the festival circuit. Zegers plays a rock star who achieved fame and fortune on his first album, helped largely by songs written by his childhood friend and collaborator who bailed out on a second album that flopped. Desperate his career is over, the rocker heads home to rekindle the relationship with his former partner, and they find themselves on a road trip down Route 66, rediscovering their rock roots. Pic was produced by Scott Rosenbaum and Joseph White and Submarine’s Josh Braun brokered the distribution deal with Vicki Cherkas. Media 8′s selling international rights at AFM. Here’s the trailer:

How do you fuck up a good Rock ‘n Roll film with shitty writing and acting? This is how.
This is one of the best Rock N’ Roll movies I’ve seen to date. I don’t believe you actually saw it if that is your response to THE PERFECT AGE OF ROCK N’ ROLL!
Another typical crappy movie…
Do you know a good film when you see it?
I saw this at the premiere at the Newport Film Festival and I was pleasantly surprised by how genuine and well done this movie is.
I saw the film at the DGA and it is a great Rock N’ Roll film!
This movie is a must see!
The negative comments below, based on their repetitiveness and lack of critical acumen, appear to be some kind of vendetta waged by one or two cognitively challenged individuals who have some kind of personal axe to grind. Get a life, folks, and quit posting this moronic crap – go troll somewhere else.
Disgruntled writer who has never been produced and wished he was a rock n roll star but has to to keep his job at a BP gas station because he sucks at everything else.
Paddy….. sounds like u know Willmore well hehe…. Don’t be a hater “Willmore” … maybe if u were a lil kinder and a bit more positive… More good things WillMore come ur way too!! Not a big rocker movie fan myself.. I was skeptical…..but when it was over…. I wanted more…..absolutely looooved this movie and I’m sure it will appeal to many…there’s sumtin for everyone in this jewel!!! In closing…Will only goes so far…but karma…hehehe karma is a beautiful thing!!
yeah, i’m trying to figure out if this is the worst edited, worst directed and/or worst acted film ever.
oh well. millions of dollars wasted again…
You obviously don’t know anything about movies, editing, or directing…
WOW did you see the same film I did????? Oh and DID YOU LISTEN when they STATED THAT IT DID NOT COST MILLIONS very low budget…Get facts before you spout off
When was the last time a movie about a R&R band made any money? They always seem so forced & contrived. Just read Keith Richards’ new book and you don’t need to see what looks like a real turkey.
Even the trailer feels forced and contrived… yikes…
It’s always the same movie.
Coming soon to late night cable.
Coming soon to a theatre near you.
Excellent, I can’t wait to see it. Fuck the nay sayers. Elitist pricks!! This movie is going to be awesome, I know it!
“What did you do n o w…”
It was an honor to work on this movie! I am so happy tho have been a part of it!

I’ll bet you never even saw the film.
Ok, commenting negatively on this story without seeing the movie is not only uncalled for, but it also shows how jaded some viewers are. How either of you could comment on this topic is beyond me.
I’ve been fortunate enough to see this story before its distribution, and while at first I thought it might be just another rock’n'roll movie (because there are SO many bad ones – like Rock Star, Almost Famous – oh, wait; there are NO bad ones), the tale of love and friendship unfold into a path of deceit, drugs, and destruction. It’s uplifting, funny, and heart-wrenching simultaneously. Most of all, you wish you could have been there.
My only issue was that certain things seemed anachronistic. However, those moments were picayune and didn’t really detract from this stirring story.
Spoken like a true crew member of the film haha
Can’t wait to see the movie! Its going to be kick ass!
:)
I loved it. The music blended with the drama and the emotion. Peter and jason were great, they showed the emotional pain when deciding to go for your dreams.
This film is fantastic! I saw it the opening night of the CMJ film fest in 2009.
Was lucky enough to see this film. I was pleasantly surprised by the not so typical relationship between the two main characters. If you are a fan of music and the soul from which Rock eminates then this film is a no brainer! To all the those nay sayers f off, you probably have never seen the film!
My prediction… makes no money it tanks big… end up in a $1 dvd bin.. seen the movie…
Not gonna comment on a film I haven’t seen but the trailer sure sucks!
The trailer definitely isn’t that appealing, however, jason ritter is a really good, extremely likable actor, ad tarn manning usually picks very interesting roles, so i would bet this film is far superior to its trailer
Ignore the negative bullsh*t you’ve read here, The Perfect Age of Rock and Roll is an inspired film and if you’re a fan of music you will dig it. The acting is superb and the way the story is told will keep you interested throughout. The soundtrack’s original songs are awesome too. You will love this film plain and simple.
Wow, who knew that so many people like to make OTHER people feel awful? Oh right. Enjoy your personal hell!
Anywhoo, this is a really good movie that I was able to see at an early screening. Very cool music with a compelling storyline and solid acting. Re: distribution, ABOUT DAMN TIME!
Huzzah!
A trailer for a movie about rock and roll that begins with an explanation of what rock and roll is? And when that explanation is being expounded by some loaded simulation rock star? Gimme the remote fast.
Just see the fucking movie, then say what you want.
But…I don’t want to see this movie.
Wow. That was one of the WORST trailers I’ve ever seen. Horrid. Not doing the film any justice, that’s for sure.
I saw the film and loved it, it is relatable to anyone even if you are not into rock and roll. It is about going for your dreams or not and the consequences for both, and we have all been there. It is filled with heart, and I would recommend it to all. In addition the sound track is phenomenal!
I had the pleasure of being involved in the production of this film for what felt like a split-second. It was a good experience and, after having seen the screening in Chelsea, I’m pleased to be able to say I was there.
This movie had phenomenal on and off screen artists working on it, and I think the product speaks for itself. Was it utterly flawless? No. And why should it be? It gives a quick insight into what one might call “the politics of Rock & Roll” and some personal consequences of the lifestyle. It is a charming, low budget indie movie with an intimate, documentary-like feel, and it makes no apologies for that. Aren’t there enough Big Glamour Generic Rock movies? This was refreshing, if maybe a bit shorter than I’d expected.
People, really? You don’t have anything better to do than write mean-spirited blanket statements about an indie flick on it’s preview site? Wouldn’t your time be better spent burning ants with a magnifying lens?

I’ve personally know Scott Rosenbaum and have met the family. The movie is inspired by a great and common tragedy surrounded by music. It’s a must see movie that will bring you into the lives of most musicians in our generation.
