After an extensive search, Alexandra Chando (Rockville CA) has landed the lead in the ABC Family drama pilot The Lying Game. Additionally, DW Moffet is set to co-star on another ABC Family pilot, Switched a Birth, while The Whole Truth co-stare Christine Adams has been tapped for the last regular role on Fox’s upcoming drama series Terra Nova. The Lying Game, from Warner Horizon and Alloy, centers on Emma (Chando), a kind-hearted foster kid who finds out she has an identical twin sister, Sutton (also played by Chando) that was adopted by wealthy parents and is seemingly living an ideal life until she goes missing and Emma goes on a quest to find her. Charles Pratt, Jr. is the writer/executive producer on the pilot based on the upcoming novel by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard. Chando is with Gersh and J. Mitchell Management.

In addition to Moffett, also cast on On Switched at Birth are young actors Vanessa Marano and Lucas Grabeel, joining previously cast Lea Thompson, Constance Marie and Katie Leclerc. The project  tells the story of two teen girls who discover that they were accidentally switched at birth. Bay Kennish (Marano) grew up in a wealthy family with two parents (Thompson, Moffett) and two brothers, one played by Grabeel, while Daphne Vasquez (Leclerc), who lost her hearing as a child due to a case of meningitis, grew up with a single mother (Marie) in a poor neighborhood.

Terra Nova follows Jim Shannon (Jason O’Mara), Elizabeth Shannon (Shelley Conn) and their 3 kids – an ordinary family from 2149 who are transported back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization. Adams will play the leader of another, renegade colony near Terra Nova. Production on Terra Nova, from 20th TV, Chernin Entertainment, Kapital Entertainment and DreamWorks TV, will launch next fall after a May preview. Adams is the second actor from a cancelled fall series to quickly land a pilot gig. Mehcad Brooks of ABC’s My Generation just joined USA Network’s Necessary Roughness.
