Been waiting for this. I think this will do much better than the Big C.
Well, Matt LOOKS great. And the concept is great because it’s so friggin accurate. But….I dunno, it just feels flat to me. Hope I’m wrong though.
It looks awfully unfunny to me… If they were trying to make it like “Curb” or “Extras” they’ve really missed the mark. In spite of the great UK cast and the BBC pedigree, it seems pretty dull.
ANOTHER show about the industry? Small wonder the rest of the country views us as self-absorbed narcissists.
A narcissist is by definition self-absorbed, “Writer” Bob.
yeah right, because the rest of the country isn’t celebrity and hollywood obsessed? that must be why there are multiple nightly TV shows like E.T., the Insider and TMZ… because the rest of the country ISN’T interested and obsessed. that must be why the straight news print industry is dying but all those celebrity gossip rags are thriving. come on Writer Bob, give it a shot. it could be funny in a way Entourage never was. how you doin’ writer Bob? how you doin’?
OMG, who allows this crap to make it this far?!
“The TV Set: The TV Show”.
Looks kinda fun, actually.
Looks and sounds funny. I’ll give it a chance!
FAIL
The problem is that Matt LeBlanc is so identified with his Cheers role that the only thing he CAN do is play off that, by making fun of the persona of “Matt LeBlanc”. He couldn’t be a cast member of “Modern Family”, for instance, because viewers wouldn’t be able to get the “Joey” character out of their heads. He can’t play a supporting role in something like The Walking Dead” for the same reason. As an actor, he’s stuck.
Ah yes, who could forget the romance of Joey and Diane.
Rosemarie – LeBlanc must not be THAT identified with his “Cheers role” because he wasn’t in Cheers! If he was that identified with it, you woulda remembered the name of the hit show he starred in for a decade.
YIKES! The minute I clicked my mouse to post my comment I realized I had meant to write “FRIENDS”, not CHEERS. But we can’t go back in and edit, so I was stuck. Who knows why I typed “Cheers”. That’s just so weird.
Yes, Matt LeBlanc was in FRIENDS, not Cheers! FRIENDS, FRIENDS, FRIENDS!
Even I, a lil’ ol’ hick chick in residing in the crossroads of the country knows that Matt LeBlanc was on Friends, not Cheers….
REALLY? And you want folks to take you seriously?
Good luck with that…..
Matt LeBlanc looks great with salt and pepper hair.
Mircea Monroe is awesome! So happy for her.
Looks pretty good, I’ll watch it! (Although I also watched every episode of JOEY.)
I tend to be fairly cynical about shows like this, but this one kinda looks good.
When was he in Cheers? I know him from Friends.

I meant to type “Friends”, not “Cheers”. My bad.
actually he’s not at all identified with his cheers role because he was never on that show.
After the suckfest that was Joey, this actually looks watchable. It comes across as smart, with a soft, easy flow. And I like that it’s not painfully earnest the way Friends alum Matthew Perry’s excruciating Studio 60 was. I’ll give this a try.
This looks pretty good, and I think Matt LeBlanc is PERFECT for it, from what I’ve seen. He comes across as real, intelligent, and yet still funny. They dont make him out to be like his TV character.
…and to the previous poster – Studio 60 was great. I wish that had survived and 30 Rock had been cancelled. Studio 60′s only problem was showing any of the “show within the show”. THAT stuff was horrible.
Didn’t laugh once.
Now I see why Bob G hightailed it out of there. this is terrible and they cannot launch a real comedy (women in peril dont count). They know this sucks.
I was mildly amused. I don’t need to laugh to enjoy. A slight smile creeping across my lips will do. And it it did.
What in the Larry David hell?!
I think it looks fun. And I think it’s about time Showtime realizes a comedy should have some laughs in it. Most of what they do– Weeds, Nurse Jackie, The C Word are really 30 minute dramas not comedies. I don’t know if this show will be a hit, but I really applaud the direction of trying to do 30s that have some laughs involved.
Looks very funny.
The humour is a bit on the nose, but Matt Le Blanc is engagingly relaxed and nice to not see him play a doofus.
