Reid Scott, Tim Simons and Matt Walsh have joined the cast of HBO’s comedy pilot Veep starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The Washington, D.C.-set project, from British comedian, writer and director Armando Iannucci, centers on former Senator Selina Meyer (Louis-Dreyfus) who becomes Vice President. Former My Boys co-star Scott will play Dan Egan, a DC legend. Simons will play Jonah who works in the President’s office, and Walsh will play Mike, Meyer’s spokesman. The trio join previously cast Anna Chlumsky. Reid, repped by Gersh and Impression Entertainment, has recurred heavily on Showtime’s The Big C as Laura Linney’s hot oncologist.

After heavily recurring on CBS’ Blue Bloods this season, Amy Carlson, who plays Donnie Wahlberg’s wife, is poised to become a regular if the cop family drama is picked up for a second season, something that is widely expected. Carlson, repped by Domain and Principal Entertainment, will next be seen in Green Lantern.

Desi Lydic (Stan Helsing), who guest starred on the pilot for MTV’s comedy series That Girl has been upped to a regular on the show, about teenage life through the eyes of 15 year-old Jenna Hamilton. Lydic plays Jenna’s high school guidance counselor. Additionally, Lydic, repped by ICM and Inphenate’s Glenn Rigberg, has joined the cast of Cameron Crowe’s We Bought a Zoo.
