Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Brian Austin Green and Lost‘s Harold Perrineau will lead the cast of TBS’ hourlong comedy pilot The Wedding Band, while, Alex Frnka (Lifetime’s Unanswered Prayers) has landed the female lead in MTV’s half-hour pilot The Inbetweeners.
Peter Cambor (NCIS: Los Angeles) and Derek Miller (Secret Girlfriend) have also been cast in The Wedding Band, from FremantleMedia and Tollin Prods., which follows a group of guys who try to escape the stress and craziness of their lives by performing in a wedding band. The band, which will stop at nothing to make every wedding, birthday or bar mitzvah a concert to remember, is anchored by 2 lifelong best friends – one a perennial bachelor (Green) and the other a married father of two (Cambor). Josh Lobis and Darin Moiselle penned the script and are exec producing. Bryan Gordon will direct and co-exec produce. Green currently recurs on ABC’s Desperate Housewives as Bree’s (Marcia Cross) squeeze. APA-repped Perrineau most recently co-starred on ABC’s The Unusuals.
The Inbetweeners, a remake of the award-winning British series, revolves around four high school boys (Joey Pollari, Bubba Lewis, Zack Pearlman, Mark L. Young) who belong to the “inbetweeners” social class — teens who are not the most cool and popular but not geeky enough to be branded uncool. Frnka, repped by Innovative and Precision, will play a super-hot (and wise) high-school girl who is the cause for some of the four boys’ teenage angst. Taika Waititi is set to direct the pilot, which is slated to begin production on January 10 in Orlando. Brad Copeland wrote the adaptation and serves as the showrunner. He is executive producing with Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, creators of the original series, and Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment.

Are you telling me that Brian Austin Green will be singing again. This is epic news, I will watch this pilot. I predict similar to the Wedding Singer which was a really funny movie in my opinion.
I bet the Wedding Band will be so bad but brilliant to watch. I like the cast memebers listed and when Brian popped up in Freddie in 2005 starring as the sidekick Chris he was hilarious.
I’m loving Brian in Desperate Housewives now and don’t want him to leave that show and I would like to see him in major movies but this sounds like it could be a good pilot.
thank you! I always feel like the only one who LOVED him on Freddie. I’m still disgruntled that they canceled it.
Sounds like a lame version of Party Down.
Sweet! I can wait to see David Silver rock the turntables again. Check one-two! Miggity miggity mic check! Seriously, though, I think he and Harold Perrineau are great. Brian Austin Green gets shafted alot because of 90210 (not to mention old whats-her-name), but I think he’s great and criminally underutilized in the business.
I didn’t know Lobis and Moiselle still worked in this town. I wonder if they’re still funny.
I was joking – and ‘Seanh’ – get a personality. Lobis and Moiselle are two of the funniest people on the planet. Real talk. Happy Holidays. Most wonderful time of the year.
In other words, Nate is about to go the way of Dom on NCIS:LA. This does NOT make me happy.
I’m sure Harold’s wife will be guest starring too.
I totally agree with AymieJoi. I was hoping that Shane Brennan planned something big with Cambors Character and not to get rid of him.
If Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles wasn’t cancelled by Fox Network (insane management), I would still be watching BAG play Derek Reese. He made me forget the last two Terminator films more people should thank him.
Yes, I’m still gutted he played that character so brilliantly.
The man deserves more respect than people give him he’s a talented actor.
I’ve gotten to help on the productions with this show, and took part in acting in one of the episodes. It’s a GREATly scripted show, and I have high hopes for it!
