The Chicago Film Critics Association chose The Social Network for its Best Picture and Best Director honors for David Fincher and Best Adapted Screenplay for Aaron Sorkin. I’m not sure how important Monday’s results from the Chicago contingent figures in the larger Oscar picture, but it certainly bolsters my prognosticating colleague Pete Hammond’s feelings about how The Social Network is rising in the critical consensus so far.
