EXCLUSIVE: Glee star Cory Monteith is at the center of a pitch deal that just went down at Fox 2000. The untitled project, described as a “workplace” comedy. Monteith is attached to star and produce with Bruce Nash and Robert Kosberg. The idea came from Michael Herbert, an intern at Nash Entertainment. Monteith, who plays Finn Hudson on the hit series, just wrapped the Fox 2000 Tom Bezucha-directed Monte Carlo, starring alongside Leighton Meester and Selena Gomez. Obviously, Fox 2000 chief Elizabeth Gabler liked what she saw. Monteith is repped by APA and Red Management.
Nash Entertainment also is developing Girl Most Wanted with Fox 2000 and Spyglass as a vehicle for Katherine Heigl to star and produce.

You go, Cory! Always see this guy around the Paramount lot, where they film GLEE. One of the nicest, most sincere, unpretentious of the Young Hollywood crowd. Much success to him in all his future endeavors!
I care nothing about this project nor i do know anyone involved but I will say I am shocked and pleased to see an Intern getting credit by name and in any sort of press for cultivating an idea. I remember back in the assisting days having my ideas claimed by my boss – this was a very cool random credit. Nice job intern Michael Herbert and nice job Nash for giving credit and nice job Mike for mentioning it.
My intern told me to write this.
The flavor of the moment. Enjoy while you can.
ESB: Your flavor seems to be redolent of sour grapes. Not much enjoyment there.
I agree, ESB, jealousy doesn’t become anyone – you just become a jerk!
One of the nicest guys ever. Super talented and well deserving.
Wow…I didn’t realize interns had agents AND managers these days!
Gotta feel bad for Cory for working with such inept producers – seriously, why would anyone partner with or give the benefit of doubt to makers of such reality schlock who have never even made a film? He better hope that Fox 2000 pulls their weight on this one.
He can’t sing worth Jack.
This film is not a musical so I don’t think that matters.
I agree..the guy cannot sing or act. Lucky for luck
There you go Cory! Really glad to hear about it! Congratulations and my best wishes to you.
So you have actually met Corey?
I don’t want him to leave glee! can’t he do both
but I’m happy for him, i’ll watch the show for sure.
I’m a big fan of Glee and most of its stars, and Cory’s a good lookin guy, but he has no charisma or acting chops at all. He’s easily the weak link of the show. He’s definitely not a movie star. I’m more happy for the intern – who won’t actually get any credit or money for it, but hey at least he got mentioned on Finke. I would have killed for that when I was interning, but the site didn’t exist back then….though I wouldn’t mind it now either.
He’s a mediocre singer but his acting is actually quite good. He never overacts, that why he may not seem charismatic. But Finn is the character that kind of grounds the others and links all of the plots in this show. If he is the weak link, this show would have fallen apart a year ago.
That is sooo cool>
Such a Cory Monteith fan!
go Gleeks!
I’m happy that Cory Monteith starts to get appreciated for the talented, hard working, steadfast actor that he really is and hopefully will be given the chances that he merits.
Another Canadian boy about to make it big in Hollywood? Who knows, he may be the next Ryan Reynolds or Ryan Gosling.
This does not surprise me. Anyone who knows Michael Herbert knows its just a matter of time before he becomes successful. Congrats Michael, things have just begun for you.
I’m fine with Cory Monteith doing a film on his hiatus, but a producer credit is a bit much, dontcha think?
Congratulations to everyone and it is good to see credit given to intern Michael Herbert. Wish you all success
He deserves it, he is a wonderful actor!
i love cory!!!Love him on glee as lea michle’s boyfriend!Selena Gomez…naa not so much! any thing he’s in ill try to support so we’ll see!
I’m happy for him. He is such a nice, down-to-earth guy and I believe he deserves it, too.
Cory rocks cause he is an awesome singer and actor and he is CANADIAN !!! Don’t let people get you down Cory you are awesome!!
My cousin, Michael, has an awesome imagination and is very creative and innovative. I am proud to call him family.
There’s a lot of smart, up-coming talent out there right now; Cory is one of the best “stock picks” you could invest in.
When they say “pitch” are the referring to a movie pitch or a television series pitch?
Cory may be a nice guy – kudos. But he’s not talented compared to many of his peers such as Andrew Garfield, who earned a BAFTA, or even his colleague, Matt Morrison. Cory has NOT earned his cred at all to be compared to Ryan Gosling, the strongest contender from Canadian talent. I agree he’s flavor of the moment and way way over-rated! He can’t sing or dance well and frankly should not have been in GLEE. I guess his looks and charm got him the part. I do wish him well.
Actually he is underrated in Glee because of his lack of singing and dancing skills. He’ll be better off in a project without music that will showcase his strong comedic skills. Don’t underestimate looks and charm, especially when it’s coupled with substantial talent.
I agree..the guy cannot sing or act. Lucky for luck
All the kids who have spent time energy and money on their careers..too bad
