wow that’s a bad trailer.
cool that your insipid comment got to be first
I always love comedy movies. I think I need to get this on my list of my to need to watch movie. Thanks for sharing.
why, if the movie takes place in cedar rapids, is the establishing shot of the city philadelphia?
I’m gonna take a stab here and say that either both cities look amazingly alike from the air or that the character begins his journey in Philadelphia and somehow magically travels to Cedar Rapids during the course of the movie.
Im guessing they look similar enough and they just used stock footage to save the more than 50k for the heli and the film etc
Why do they even show an aerial shot?
I’m from Philly and I’m 100% positive that the aerial phototage is Philly, not Cedar Rapids. You can see the art musuem, Schuylkill, and the downtown buildings.
I saw the movie premier last night and thought that philly would be tied in somehow .. but its not. It really bothers me that they use the incorrect skyline.
official sundance selection? anyone remember when Sundance was ACTUALLY about independent film? Yah, this film has Sundance written ALL over it
That looks OUTSTANDING>>>>>>
The Hangover 1.5. We get it. We got it. Let’s move on, yo.
Well, that looks absolutely awful.
Kind of surprised (and disappointed) because this script was near the top of the Black List two years ago.
If they were going for that “mentally challenged man leaves the state facility for the first time” type of film then they have a winner…..
Ed Helms what were you thinking. Well at least it will be in the discount bin when the DVD comes out.
A serious question.
Why is it so hard to make comedies now? Are we so cynical or so ignorant that everything has to be penis or vagina humor?
Any theory is appreciated.
I think the main reason is that execs are obsessed with only making comedies that are “grounded.” In other words, movies like Caddyshack can’t exist anymore because no one wants to make them.
Twitter was first popular among golfers. If CBS can develop shows from Twitter, maybe Twitter can be the incubator for a Caddyshack 3. Starring Steve Martin.
Honestly? People will blame it on the execs, but the writers have absolutely zero talent. That’s all they’re capable of making, because the real writers shine, but everyone else, just benefits from the thin talent pool.
Thanks this sounds the most plausible but what do we do about it?
“I do a pretty convincing Omar from the HBO program, the Wire.” is a legendary movie quotable, especially coming from someone who portrayed a character on that series.
Looks good!
That was the lamest part of this god-awful trailer
Uh, no, it’s just the writer is incapable of making a joke that has doesn’t have to do with pop culture. See above.
“I do a pretty convincing Omar from the HBO program, the Wire.”
That was the best thing in the trailer!
trailer looks great. I will see anything that Arteta directs, just based on “Chuck and Buck” – one of the best films of the last decade. “Star Maps” also excellent.
this looks pretty funny.
It actually looks funny. The story is somewhat different.
The Daily Show keeps poppin’ out winning comedy babies like Kate Gosslin’ on speed. Is that a simile or a metaphor?
Wait… isn’t that just the whole fucking movie cut down to 2:30? You have the set-up in 30 seconds… 90 seconds of Act II… then the resolution scene on the plane home?
Looks pretty funny I don’t now how a movie with Helms and Reilly could be bad.
