Freestyle has released a trailer for Frankie & Alice, the Geoffrey Sax-directed drama about a woman with a multiple personality disorder that’s said to be Halle Berry’s strongest performance since Monster’s Ball. The film has a qualifying run in LA December 10 and then will be rolled out in February.

i like halle berry, but her performance in monster’s ball was mostly a lot of yelling and intense crying from what i recall. it’s a good film, and she’s fine in it, but certainly not oscar-worthy.
there’s nothing hot about halle berry anymore
you are insane. halle berry is stunning. not just hot but STUNNING. i hope she gets more oscar love for this movie.
Great trailer. Looks like an amazing story, particularly since based on a true story. Our minds play a lot tricks on us, even on the “normal” ones. Looks like another great performance by berry.
HAHAHAHA. Please list what day and time this airs on Lifetime so I can set my DVR.
And the Halle-hating begins.
I was blown away by Monster’s Ball, and she’s amazing in Frankie & Alice.
Of course, that won’t stop Tea Baggers (the spiritual descendants of Jerry Falwell) from claiming she’s ineligible for Oscar because she was born in Kenya….
Agreed. She’s a talented actor and seems to have nailed this role from the trailer.
Re teabaggers, let’s not discriminate in other direction. A UCLA study showed that the vast majority (90% signs at events) are focused on spending/decifit issues rather than racist, anti-Obama or other issues. If want to know why, google “CNBC Are we rich or Poor? Walker” for an enlightening video debate.
This movie has NO heat on it. None. Sorry. Making a movie about someone with multiple personalities is like making a superhero film these days – everyone’s done it and it’s getting old. Maybe Berry will have better luck with The Flintstones: Part 2?
Even US of Tara got old fast. Like the analysis in Tropic Thunder about actors playing mentally handicapped, I feel films about multiple personalities will fall in the same category. Never go full MP!
Uh…sorry, I have to wipe off the melodrama that just spilled on my leg. Hang on. Okay. Got it.
So, um.
When’s this Disease of the Week TV movie airing on Lifetime, again?
I liked it better when it was called UNITED STATES OF TARA
@ M. Heister…WTF are you talking about? What’s Falwell or any of that shite have to do with this? Sheesh!
Looks very good. A wish Halle Berry great success with this project and I can’t wait to go and see it.
Got to see this movie before Thanksgiving and it’s really, really good. I didn’t know much going into it, but I was pleasantly surprised. Halle’s performance is amaaaaaazing. It’s like an watching an acting class – in a good way! I wish there were more movies like this. I hope people go see it and spread the word.
Oh puh-lease. Halle Berry is freakin awesome. She has taken risks and that’s cool. I have loved her since Jungle Fever and Losing Isaiah. I only hope this movie is as good as I’ve heard. Cool trailer. And Stellan Skarsgard can do no wrong!
Silly white men & their plantation hate for what they will never have. Go back to drudge where your ignorant trailer park mentality is welcome.
I hear Halle’s wig just signed with UTA and is angling for a best supporting nomination.
Halle Berry as a stripper with multiple personalities, one of which is a white racist and another of which is an 8 yr old genius? How does she NOT win? Clearly the most challenging of roles throughout the Best Actress race, and while it may not win Best Picture, Halle is a shoe in for Oscar gold after this performance.
Amaaaaaaazing. Halle is beautiful. Couldn’t wait for her to make another movie. She had an oscar moment in Monsters Ball, but this is an oscar performance!
It’s hard to find a solid performance in a decent film when Hollywood continues to ride the trend wave. In Halle’s defense, she does Halle much like Mickey in Wrestler and Markie Mark in Fighter. Let’s just pray they don’t make The Bowler staring Sam Rockwell.
I like what I have seen so far in Berry’s performance because it is downplayed. She is functional a lot of the times, has a job etc. It is more realistic. There are many individuals with dissociative personality disorder functioning everyday without support. When someone just ‘snaps’ on you out of nowhere sometimes, that’s what you are witnessing. Some handle it better than others if they know there is a problem to begin with. Another movie, although about paranoid schizophrenia, is Out of the Darkness with Diana Ross. Think of how many homeless you have seen behaving exactly like she does in the movie.
