Universal has released a trailer for the Greg Mottola-directed Paul, the 3rd film from Brit comedy team Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead), This time they play 2 sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America’s UFO heartland, where they help an alien (voiced by Seth Rogen) escape the infamous Area 51. Paul is set to be released in in the UK on Saint Valentine’s Day. Its US release is March 18.

They’re just ripping off “American Dad”‘s Roger.
As if “American Dad” is a quarry of originality…
Go back to your spliffy and lime cheetos, bro…
Does the alien remind anyone else of Poochie?
Hot trailer? Pretty sure this has been doing the rounds for a few days. And I’m pretty sure American Dad ripped off enough things itself beforehand for it to matter too much.
This one is so cool! I can’t wait to watch this movie. I feel that I can’t stop laughing while watching Paul. I love the alien character.
what a flack comment – be a bit more stealthy next time elton – over exultation is quite transparent
wasn’t it Meatballs 3 that had Me-Ted, Meathead?
Good Lord this looks horrible. I’m all for stupid comedy. But Seth Rogen’s voice coming out of that CGI creature, being “rude” and “funny” is going to be too painful for words.
Looks funny and I didn’t think of that of Michael is right the alien does feel similar to the one on American Dad.
Love Simon Pegg. Will see this for him. Otherwise this “Aliens in the Attic”, “Alf” regurge wouldn’t make the late night roster for Nick Jr.
Looks awful and a terrible Brit’s eye view of America too
I can’t stand trailers that tell you the whole movie. I already know the ending for Christ sakes!
After Adventureland, I’ll see anything Greg Mottola directs.
Why do Pegg and Frost need to degrade themselves to fart and dick jokes, i.e. Seth Rogen movies? Their brand of humor was working just fine.
Seth Rogan’s voice is bad enough when it’s attached to his body.
But uhhhg this still looks horrid.
Don’t they usually put funny scenes in trailers for comedies? And usually the funniest scenes in the movie?
When you say “hot,” do you mean “just hit the ground and still steaming” kind of hot?
And I thought we were on alert for bombs over Christmas season, not on screen in January (THE GREEN HORNET) and March (PAUL).
