That trailer puts my ass in the theater seat. Looks terrific and classic Malick.
WOW– looks so beautiful.
Thank you for this Terrence Malick. I think we have the new American masterpiece on our hands. If this came out today, I suspect it would be a major awards contender. I cannot wait to see this!

Ahhhhhh, Malick.
Always worth the wait.
He humbles me.

Incredible.
Maybe it’s just me – and I’ve seen most of his work – but I often feel while visually stunning often it’s so ponderous as to leave me more puzzled than satisfied.
This might be great – like Badlands or Thin Red Line – but could just as easily be more of Malick’s gorgeous, pretentious, drivel. Thanks to The New World, I’m completely ambivalent.
Love it if it’s the Badlands Malick. If it’s the Facebook/Twitter Malick – Pass.

I dare you to tell me what that movie is about.
I’m with “Confused.” What the hell was that? Pretty pictures and some chick who looks like a creative writing major at Barnard whispering? I don’t know much about the director’s work, but I do remember seeing “The Thin Red Line” and totally not getting it. But what the hell do I know: I just got a bootleg of “The Star Wars Holiday Special” from 1978 and thought it was hot stuff.
Heaven forbid the entire story be told in the trailer, Confused.
Go grab me a latte buddy.
My guess: A boy grappling with his place in a family as beautiful and tumultuous as the world he lives in. (Works for me, I’ll buy a ticket.)
At least there’s something right with this industry where Terrence Malick’s movies can still get made.

The trailer alone is better than any movie I’ve seen all year.

Malick’s got the best eye in cinema. Nobody else comes close.
But the inner dialogue thing is starting to feel like a gimmick. It’s the same voice every time. Same tone, same phrasings. I get it, Terry, the universe is vast and life is strange and fleeting.
Unfortunately, I got it in Badlands and Days of Heaven. And then I got it again in Thin Red Line….

A lot of beautiful images but I’m sorry is it me or does anyone else find themselves asking what the heck is this movie about?
while it looks nice visually its just way overhyped for me and im not gonna get burned again by another self indulgent Terrence Malick film
I can’t wait for this film to come out. I just wish Fox Searchlight had the balls to put this film out in awards season, but i guess they had Black Swam, 127 Hours, and who knows how many other films they have.
