CBS just announced that the upcoming 22nd season of Survivor, Survivor: Redemption Island, will premiere on February 16 in the series’ new Wednesday 8 PM time slot. The spring cycle of Survivor will feature a new twist, with castaways who have been eliminated from the game given an opportunity “to seek redemption and return for a chance to win the million dollar prize.” When a castaway is voted off, they will be sent to an isolated island called “Redemption Island,” where they will live alone until the next person eliminated comes and the two compete in a duel, with the loser being sent home. The winner earns the right to remain on the island and continue fighting for an opportunity to return to the game. Sunday’s finale of Survivor: Nicaragua, won by Jud “Fabio” Birza, improved CBS’ Wednesday 8 PM period by 83% each in viewers (13.4 million) and adults 18-49 (4.2). Survivor was also up +1% in viewers compared to its Thursday performance last season.

rumor was that this was ALSO the Russell’s Tribe vs. Boston Rob’s tribe season… yet no mention during the finale reunion’s promo. what up with that?
You ruined ending twist for the first episode of new season!
Didn’t they do this twist already?? Do they have any new ideas?
While we’re changing the rules, how about not letting people who quit be on the jury? That was ridiculous.
That’s been done, they announced the change on the last finale
How about they quit letting people like Jimmy Johnson on the show. It really ruins the survivor effect.
The common people of the world who need the money and we have never
seen should be the contestants.
What about those weak challenges to, they were the most boring ever.
Please return to the old knock down, drag out fight to win survivor.
Survivor is my favorite show. I agree with other viewers that the contestants should be regular, off the street people—NOT celebrity or someone who does not need the money. I like the host of this show, but he is getting TOO involved; this show is not about him and I don’t watch it to see him or listen to what he has to say; he should stay in the background and stop interfering with the game plan of the players. Keep up the good work. PS.Please don’t bring back previous players. Get new people!!!!
First of Jeff needs to go back to his roots ,,,we really like him better in the backround it works better and it is smarter…
Do not bring people in that are stars hasbeens etc…no no
Up the challenges again stop trying to ruin the show
Those who QUIT YEAH QUIT THATS WHEN THE ARE DONE FOR GOOD THEY DONT GET TO VOTE THEY ARENT THERE IN THE END SO SEE YA YOU QUIT YOU STAY THAT WAY TOOOO..
Just get fresh new people who want to play the game period
I sure don’t understand why Survivor moved to Wednesday night when thats the same night American Idol is on now. I don’t understand why American Idol moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. Seems they are trying to hurt each other’s ratings. It’s gonna really hurt them both. I usually watch both but now have to decide which one I want to watch because your now forced to choose…
I didn’t like anything about this years episode of Survivor. I hated Redemption Island. It made NO sense. Matt should have recieved the $100,000. It should have been a given based on how long he survived on Redemption Island. Rob won the million and should have been exempt from winning the additional $100,000.. Since Redemption Island is coming back in 2011, I doubt I’ll watch the show.
