Famed Los Angeles nightlife and restaurant impresario and celebrity scene staple, Brent Bolthouse, is segueing into TV producing with a comic project he co-created and developed with writer-producer Vanessa Riesen (Weeds, Californication). The untitled project, which is being set up at Starz, follows the lives of several people whose paths cross in Los Angeles, with each episode taking place over the course of one night. WME-repped Riesen is set to write the project, which she will executive produce with Bolthouse. Bolthouse, repped by WME and Thruline, has dabbled into acting and appeared on MTV’s The Hills.

Hard to tell whether the snarky comments come from the usual DH pack o’ haters or people who claim some basis in reality for their comments. Given the lack of any claims of the latter, I suppose we have to assume the former. I have known BB in a business capacity for five or six years, although I have not had any dealings with him recently. What I can tell you all from firsthand experience is that BB is a smart and creative businessman with vision and talent that extends far beyond clubs and LA/Vegas nightlife. He is also an incredibly decent and honorable individual, and I wish him all the best.
