The Beverly Hills Courier broke this real estate story and now it’s confirmed: on Sunday, MGM signed a lease with New York-based George Comfort & Sons for that 6-story big blue office building at the corner of 235-269 N. Beverly Drive that was initially going to be the new home of the old William Morris Agency. But when that tenpercentery was taken over by Endeavor, the move was nixed. So MGM is emerging from bankruptcy by leaving its current headquarters in Century City at its namesake building.

New building is very nice. Still sad to see this is how Leo goes out. MGM building with no MGM in it.
big shoes.
Let me tell you how this went down – Roger and Gary made the rounds to the big agencies begging for top shelf material. When they arrived at Ari’s office, he told them that the only way he would send stuff their way was if they took over the lease and got rid of this headache he had. Roger and Gary are so desperate that they signed on the dotted line. And that’s the Chicago way.
you must be referring to Ari Gold and are confusing Entourage with real life again. Any good project that Ari gets on his desk gets vetted by MRC before anyone else see’s it.
there’s no way they can fill all that space, does this mean their century city co-tenent ICM is going with them?
Maybe they plan on hiring back some of the talented people who were laid off! There are a few who still believe in the company and would love to keep going.
Just sayin
Roger & Gary better start studying for their Real Estate broker’s license. Cause it looks like they’re gonna be in the business of subletting office space for quite some time.
To obvious: that’s the most insane, delusional thing I’ve heard all day. Do you really believe that one of the few buyers left in town would need to rent AN ENTIRE BUILDING to get material from an agency????? Haven’t you heard that agencies no longer hold the power and haven’t for about 10 years?
Sounds like Ari’s pr people working over the holiday for some double pay!
I have to wonder how the debt holders (now investors) feel about this move. If this is any indication of how Roger and Gary intend to run the “new” MGM then they will not be running things for long & the lion will be committed to yet another tortured death.
Does ICM now get naming rights on the building in Century City?
Wow, interesting turn of events here. Now that MGM is moving there, is ICM taking over all of 10250???? That’s a HUGE space to fill…
ICM only occupies 3 floors
Why would they allow MGM to move in ? so it can be vacant again in the near future ?
Renting…
new construction…
in Beverly Hills…
next door to the most expensive office building in BH…
…is a ridiculous way to restructure after bankruptcy amid crippling debt.
Really? Shouldn’t they be concentrating on getting good — or at least profitable — moves made? Unless there is some monetary upside to moving I see this as the beginning of a Guber-esque reign over once grand studio.
Let’s make some movies guys.
