CBS won a third consecutive night this week with a lineup that featured repeats. With ABC’s comedy block in reruns, CBS’ Survivor: Nicaragua (3.6/10, 12.2 million) was up a tenth from its last original 2 weeks ago to rank as the highest rated program on the night by a mile in 18-49 and total viewers. Following a Criminal Minds repeat (2.2/6, 9.1 million) CBS aired a Grammy Awards nominations special (1.7/5, 5 million), which was down 26% from last year’s telecast. NBC’s Law & Order dramas benefited from the decreased competition to log their best numbers in more than a month. Law & Order: SVU (2.5/7, 9.2 million) was up 19% in the demo from its last telecast 2 weeks ago; Law & Order: Los Angeles (2.2/6, 9.1 million) was up 16% to top the 10 PM hour. Fox’s lineup was up from last week when it was impacted by the Thanksgiving holiday. Human Target (1.6/5) was up 14%, while Hell’s Kitchen (2.6/7) was up 18% and won its 9 PM time period. And two meaningless ratings results: NBC’s soon-to-depart Undercovers (1.3/4) was up 8% from its last original 3 weeks go, while, in its brief return before its permanent exit from the schedule, ABC’s The Whole Truth (0.9/3) was down 18% from its last original more than a month ago for an all-time low. ABC’s comedy repeats were led by Modern Family (2.3/6, 7 million). The CW’s America’s Next Top Model (3.3 million, 1.8 in 18-34) spiked by 34% in total viewers and 63% in adults 18-34 from its last elimination episode 2 weeks ago with its season finale.

Wow I’m glad I don’t know anything about picking a topmodel- I would have gone with the classic looks of the contestant Jane to be top model.
Go Maura go! Office pool in NYC I have $100 that Maura Tierney bows to LESS than 0.5
The only reason Human Target is up — Janet Montgomery — her addition to the cast has made it better. Plus she’s clever & beautiful. Snark all you want, I think she’s hot.
Hi Janet! How’s the shoot going?
The reason “The Whole Truth” went down is because it has been off the air for a month and in that month, the network announced that it would not pick up the back nine. Therefore, the public feels there is no need to invest themselves in a show that is going nowhere. The truth is, it happens to be an excellent show that just got a bad timeslot right from the beginning. Why did they put three law shows against each other? It’s just plain stupid! If “The Whole Truth” had gotten a chance in another timeslot, I bet it would have gone at least five years. Maura Tierney and Rob Morrow have terrific chemistry together. It’s a shame that they won’t get a chance to go further with it.
It was off the air because it was down. I think you have the order wrong.
And terrific chemistry? It had 4 million viewers from the start, and the chemistry? Really? After the show was really chocking they had that PR release I think with TV Guide where he goes, “I have great chemistry with her, I chase her around the table.” Actual PR quip. CHASE HER AROUND THE TABLE. If the chemistry is so bad you have to spell it out like that, then yeah, dead show. I’ve said it before I’ve said it again, how she gets five (6 after re-ups) fig a week to blink and pout is beyond me. And Rob is, well, Rob. Right up the middle as middle can get.
Here’s a REAL idea I would do. If at AMC. Let Weiner run Mad Men, then spin off a 60′s legal drama and let the 2nd show runner over there I think it’s Scott Hornbacher run it, and put that on the grid Thu night at 10.
I wonder why CBS chose to air the grammy special at 10 instead of at 9 when it has been done in years past.
The only reason Human Target is up is because everything else is reruns or award shows that nobody cares about. Human Target is the prime example of everything that is wrong with Hollywood – they had a great, clever, well-cast, well-produced show and they could not resist tinkering – ditch the music, add to the cast, change the set and alter the tone. Read the fan boards – not the posts from the people on Fox’s “friends-and-family” plan, but the real viewers who kept this show alive with their support when it looked like it was going south. Read how disgusted they are with the new cast that has made the old cast into the castrati, how turned off they are by dumping Bear McCreary and the fabulous score, how the whole dark-quirky tone that set the show apart has been homogenized to the sort of cop/lawyer show pap we see every night at 10 pm on the networks. No offense to Janet Montgomery or the other gal but its kind of amazing how some cast members can be pure fluff and dead weight at the same time.
