NBC won 3 nights in the adults 18-49 demo last week and is on track to top at least as many this week after posting a nightly victory last night with Minute to Win It and a rebroadcast of Saturday Night Live Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas. (NBC already won on Monday with the Sing-Off finale and is guaranteed to dominate Sunday with football.) At 8 PM, Minute to Win It (2.1/7 in 18-49) was down 9% from last week but finished close second in the 8 PM hour. From 9-11 PM, Gilly Christmas (2.3/7) was down 26% from its premiere airing last December but still won the time period, drawing higher ratings than ABC and CBS combined in the 10 PM hour. For the night, NBC (2.3/7, 6.3 million) was tops in 18-49 and No.2 in total viewers.
CBS (1.9/6, 10.1 million) was the most watched network and second in 18-49 with all-repeats, NCIS (2.2/7, 12.3 million), which won the 8 PM hour, NCIS: Los Angeles (2.1/6, 11.3 million) and The Good Wife (1.3/4, 6.8 million).
Fox (1.7/5, 4.8 million) was third for the night with a Glee repeat (1.3/4, 4.1 million) at 8 PM, followed by Million Dollar Money Drop (2.0/5, 5.5 million), which was flat with the 9 PM episode of the game show on its premiere night Monday.
ABC (0.8/3, 3.7 million) barely registered with Part 2 of the Skating with the Stars finale (0.8/3, 3.4 million), which was up 60% in the demo from the underwhelming Part 1 of the finale on Monday and on par with the reality show’s deliveries for the past couple of weeks. Repeats of No Ordinary Family (0.8/2, 3.1 million) and Detroit 1-8-7 (0.9/3, 4.6 million) stayed below the 1 demo rating mark.

Skating with the stars was doomed from the very beginning…NOTE TO ABC…FOX already did this show..probably with better ratings too..and they still cancelled it..what made you think this tired concept would be a hit??..stick with the ballroom..
Oh great. Now the bozos at SNL are going to think that Gilly is a popular sketch and they’ll hit with even more of this crap. We can only hope this horrible waste of air time will be spun off as another bad SNL movie where such terrible characters are finally killed off for good.
Who in the hell thought Skating with the Stars was a good idea?
There is something seriously wrong with the way some CBS shows are being shot. Since they switched to digital on the original “NCIS” the picture looks very fuzzy, same with “The Good Wife”. they both look out of focus. “NCIS:L.A.” looks pretty good but I suspect that “HD digital” in sharp focus is unflattering to the over 40 actors on “The Good Wife” and the original “NCIS”, so they’re using some sort of soft filter.
There is a better fix. Go back to shooting on real film. The picture quality on the film shot shows like CBS’s “The Mentalist” is much better. The picture quality on “Glee” is fantastic. Even “Chuck” shot on 16mm film looks better. Most productions have found it really doesn’t cost more than digital, in the long run.
Has anyone else noticed the soft focus/fuzzy “look” on “NCIS” and “The Good Wife”?
Yes , I have tried to watch NCIS on all of our TVS , and it is all out of focus , it is like they need to clean their lens . Enough creative camera tricks , this is a Great Show , I don’t need the blur or soft look , or whatever the creative people are attempting to do.
Yes! I too have found that NCIS is very hazy! Many many years ago, eg: The Doris Day Show, I was told that when a soft filter is used, it was to hide the aged look of the star/s.
I liked the fox Skating show but this ABC one was dreadful.
Also making people wait till the end of the show to vote was stupid.
Once you have a viewer let them vote so they have a little interest in what’s going on.
I also enjoyed Fox Skating With Celebrities. It had class and substance. ABC Skating with the stars was worse than dreadful. It was so repetetive and drawn out that I fast forwarded 2/3 of each show. The MC was the worst I have ever seen. The judges were like the three stooges. I am so sorry that the show bombed because I love to watch skating.
It’s really great to see those old SNL sketches like from the original cast of the second golden age that went form about 87-93. Then it’s sad to see the newer ones. Ouch!
The saddest thing is we won’t ever get the 87-93 episodes on DVD/Blu-ray because of music costs. Man, that is sad. I wish they’d atleast put those out on DVDs before giving up. Those were the best.
