In a year when all the acting categories are the most wide open they have been in memory, the Screen Actors Guild is ready to get its membership to vote on the SAG Awards. Here is the info:
LOS ANGELES (Dec. 27, 2010) – Voting information to select the recipients of the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® for outstanding performances in 2010 in five film and eight primetime television categories and for the SAG honors for film and television stunt ensembles are being mailed via postcard on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2010 to the entire active membership of Screen Actors Guild across the country–nearly 100,000 actors–by the SAG Awards® official election teller, Integrity Voting Systems.
In keeping with the SAG Awards® commitment to green practices, secure internet eBalloting is encouraged. Paper ballots will be made available only upon request, which must be made by Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 per the instructions on the postcard. All votes must be received at Integrity Voting Systems by noon on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011. Results will be sealed until they are opened onstage at the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony.
Recipients of the stunt ensemble honors will be announced from the SAG Awards red carpet during the tnt.tv and tbs.com live pre-show webcasts, which can be seen online from 6:30 p.m. (ET)/3:30 p.m. (PT).
Recipients of this year’s Actor® statuettes for individual performances in motion pictures and television, and for motion picture cast and television ensemble performances, will be revealed during the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards live national simulcast on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. (ET), 7 p.m. (CT), 6 p.m. (MT) and 5 p.m. (PT).
Of the top industry accolades presented to performers, only the Screen Actors Guild Awards® are selected purely by actors’ peers. The Screen Actors Guild Awards® were the first televised honors devised by a union to celebrate the work of actors and the first to establish awards for motion picture casts and television ensembles.
Nominees for the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010.

Could you please advise us exactly which AFTRA television shows and their Actors (individual & ensemble) are nominated for The SAG Award this year. Thank you!
I contacted the S.A.G. signatory department today and was told those shows I listed were NOT in the database. These are the categories you requested, both ensemble and individual.
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series The Good Wife
Outstanding Performance by and Ensemble in a Comedy Series Hot in Cleveland and Modern Family
Outstanding Performance by Female Actor in a Drama Series Glenn Close (Damages) and Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife) She also won last year.
The Male Category was all S.A.G signatory.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series Ty Burrell and Ed O’Neill both for Modern Family
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Comedy Series Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie) Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) and Betty White (Hot in Cleveland)
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries Edgar Ramirez (Carlos) and Patrick Stewart (Macbeth Great Performances)
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries Wynona Ryder When Love is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story
THESE WERE NOT IN THE SIGNATORY DATABASE.
DO NOT HONOR THESE PERFORMANCES!
All Stunt Nominations were S.A.G. contracted!!!!!
Also, The King’s Speech isn’t S.A.G. signatory.
Wide open? Firth, Bening, Bale, Leo. I’ll bet at least three of those win.
Actors, remember this when you vote; The congloms went 99.9% with aftra contracts in tv this year, to f*ck up your union.
The following Screen Actors Guild Awards NOMINATIONS ARE NOT IN THE S.A.G. SIGNATORY DATABASE. THEY ARE NOT S.A.G. CONTRACTED SHOWS. They are AFTRA. DO NOT AWARD THEM WITH YOUR VOTE!
They are:
The Good Wife
Hot In Cleveland
Modern Family
Damages
Nurse Jackie
and the following television movies
Carlos
Macbeth
When Love Is Not Enough
Let us not honor this stolen work by AFTRA. Honor S.A.G. contracted work only!
We are THE SCREEN ACTORS GUILD!
Why would the SAG awards even list these actors and shows if the productions are not SAG signatories? This is confusing…
‘splain please
Those are the rules. But you have to ask for them. No where is that on the nominating ballot or info provided with it. So S.A.G. members are nominating AFTRA shows without knowing it. I was selected last year for the television nominating committee and was shocked to see the next morning after the awards that we had awarded a best actress award to Julianna Margulies for an AFTRA performance. Due to illness, I missed the deadline for sending in my ballot. So I had a fully intact ballot and NOWHERE does it say these are AFTRA shows. I made a motion at the Hollywood membership meeting that only S.A.G. contracted work be allowed to submit for consideration. It passed unanimously. However, the motion was advisory and your current National Board voted it down AGAINST THE WISHES OF THE MEMBERSHIP. You can thank the CURRENT ADMINISTRATION for not doing anything about this.
I felt cheated as a member and that is the reason I posted the list this year. I want fellow members to KNOW FOR WHOM THEY ARE VOTING!!! Should we really be rewarding AFTRA performances when they raided our jurisdiction and stole $26 million in P&H contributions! They won’t get my vote for that reason. I will not reward an actor or actress working on an AFTRA contract with a S.A.G. award. Period.
It is in the rules. AFTRA shows can submit.
As long as voting SAG members continue to be treated as second class citizens compared to the other guilds with regard to making screenings available, I will continue to mail my (paper) ballot in… unmarked.
All actors should be voted on according to there talents not there affiliations! My goodness what ever happened to true Art?!
