• As a writer, I would hate for my script to be on the Blacklist seeing how it seems to be a list of scripts that are recognized but won’t be greenlit.

      If you are a female writer repped by any agency you are kind of screwed.

• Was there any doubt CAA would top the list? I am shocked at WME being up there considering their lit dept.

  • I love it when a CAA toady proclaims how the agency is the king of this or that. Surprised that WME is up there? Look at last year’s Black List score card –

    WME – 36
    CAA – 13

    CAA got beat by UTA last year and WME beat them almost three times over…

    My point? Do some research before you make yourself look stupid. WME’s lit department is fine.

  • I think WME topped the list last year and WMA the year before. They’re lit department is very strong. You should ask your boss about it.

  • ICM has been investing primarily in young writers and directors, they have great strength there but in actors, not so much.

• I love this town and the reps desperate need (abetted by the trades) for constant self-congratulation for something they had little ( best case) to no (99.9999% case) participation in.

  In baseball, when a player hits thirty home runs, do they credit his manager every time he knocks one out?

  The Black List itself is fine, but the pathetic roll-call of agent/manager credits, coupled with the post-mortem “scorecard” just perpetuates the bromide that those who can, do; those who can’t will stop at nothing to make it look like they can.
