30 Rock co-star Tracy Morgan will be MIA for 2-3 episodes airing in March as the actor is recuperating from a kidney transplant earlier this month. “Tracy is doing well and taking some much needed time to recover after the surgery,” a rep for the actor said, adding that Morgan will return to work on the NBC show after the holidays. Morgan, who is a diabetic, is the second principal cast member on a Thursday comedy series to take health-related break this season. In September, The Big Bang Theory co-star Kaley Cuoco was sidelined with a broken leg following a horseback accident. She ended up missing just 2 episodes of the hit CBS series.

Here’s to a speedy recovery. Tracy Morgan is a comedic genius who has battled adversity and is just now nearing the apex of his career. He put a smile on my face everytime he hit the screen.

Kaley did miss a couple of episodes, but if you notice on the ones she was on immediately thereafter, she either stood behind a table or never moved in the shot so her limp or cast would not be visible. Reminded me of the tricks they used in the 1960′s to “hide” pregnant actresses.

Why is Tracy Morgan at New York Knicks basketball games when it is reported that he is “resting and recovering”?
He should be at home in bed resting. I am not into his comedy but he does add to the 30 Rock cast in blending his character with the other actors on the show.

With a new kidney, now hopefully he’ll take better care of himself. In watching his HBO special, along with 30 Rock, he could stand to lose a lot of weight. Sure killer if you’re diabetic.
