EXCLUSIVE: A month into the freshman run of A&E’s unscripted series Storage Wars, the cable network has renewed the show for a second season with a 20-episode order. Production on Season 2 is already under way for a premiere in the second quarter of this year. In its Dec.1 hourlong debut, Storage Wars drew 2 million viewers, A&E’s best premiere numbers for an unscripted series last year. The series has been growing since, averaging 2.3 million viewers to date. “Storage Wars has garnered critical acclaim and has risen above the competition,” Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager of A&E and BIO Channel said. “Premium storytelling and amazing characters have set our show apart.”
Storage Wars, from Thom Beers’ FremantleMedia-owned Original Prods., follows fast-talking auctioneers Dan and Laura Dotson and the group of loyal bidders that frequent their storage unit sales. It is one of 2 cable reality shows about storage unit auctions that launched in the fourth quarter, along with Spike’s Auction Hunters. Both series earned 20-episode second-season pickups a month after their premieres. Storage Wars is executive produced by Beers and Philip D. Segal.

i JUST read the show had drew 1.1 million viewers in both half hours which equaled 2 million total between the half hours. i tried to watch the show but it’s dreadfull. slimebags who screw each other over without any integrity or intelligence. barf!
Seriously, Dude, do you watch television to get your fix on morals and ethics? It’s television = Entertainment! Not a guide on how to be a good person.
Sheesh get out of the house!
Worst of all, they can’t even make it appear like it’s real/reality except to the people who are too dumb to notice or care, which you are if you waste your time on garbage like this. It’s obvious that they’ve hired “Celeb-wannabe’s” who dream of being real actors to play stereotypes that the masses can root for or against. The audience for a show like this is pathetic and the reason that our country is spiraling downhill quickly. Weren’t reality tv shows originally supposed to be somewhat, hmmm…I don’t know, REAL. FAKEST SHOW I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF WATCHING!!!
its real. and face the facts, americans love reality. $ rules
No underestimating the stupid viewing habits of Americans.
LOVE THIS SHOW.
Americans have it perfectly right as usual. This show works on a bunch of levels. Firstly, character driven. Interesting group of diverse individuals who frequent these storage unit auctions to buy ALL kinds of unforeseen items each for different reasons. 2 own consignment stores, 1 is a funky collector and 1 is a Gambler. Don and his wife(GREAT FOLKS)the auctioneers open the locker and people have 5 mins to look in and decide whether to spend 1000′s… the whatsinthere factor alone makes it so cool. Between the characters and the unknown finds this show is FUN FUN FUN — LOVE IT!!! Give it a chance you will love it too…
good show, watch it all the time.
Who has first code?
just one thought, berry is the best, what has he done before storage wars?
