Wow, that’s amazing. Arnold Shapiro is a class act and it’s great to see the good guys succeed. I worked with him sometime ago, and he was great to his staff, and always a pleasure to deal with.

Arnold Shapiro (really) is a ‘class act’.
Chalk one up for the good guys.
Loved the show! I watched it with my 2 kids and told them if they continue to give problems like they do I would put them on there myself! They kinda laughed at me. I really wish there was someone who can help me scare my kids like those kids. Looking forward to some more shows!!
Although I never gave my parents a lot of trouble, I remember the first Scared Straight program I saw back in the last 70′s/early 80′s…that did it for me! It showed me that if I wasn’t a troubled child I didn’t want to start. I watched this episode with my two daughters 17 and 14..they were terrified…Thank God for these type programs…they really are eye opener for kids on both sides of the behavior fence. Thanks A&E…Can’t wait to see what airs this week! Thanks

Do you have any idea how to sign up or if there are casting calls. My son is 13 & I think the younger the better & I am very interested.
I watched the show with my 11 year old daughter my mother call and told her she was going to call the show if she get sent home one more time by the end she was crying mommy okay I love please don’t send me there thank you can’t wait to next we
I loved this show. I wish I could send my granddaughter and grandson to this program . They don’t listen to their mom . The boy is 14 girl is 13. She ditches is out all night has been brought home by the police. She loves to fight and beat us her brother. He has a anger problem ditches school when ever he wants they both curse so bad their four year old brother has repeated them. Their mom works hard and they won’t do chores. Fight over mom’s phone. Call each other names that is embarrassing . They think they are cute funny its nov. I love to send then to your show. Mothers ready to fall apart. I have to see my daughter so upset. She goes to the hospital almost every two weeks. Her nerves can’t take it. Pies pairing then alone. Does her best for then.
I watched the show with my nine year old daughter. Both my girls are good and the biggest problem I have is getting them to clean their room – so far. But things can change so fast especially with teenagers (my oldest is 13, but was doing homework). This show is exceptional. My nine year old has been on her best behavior since the show went off! If possible, I’d like to pass on special thanks to Diabla. She really brings home what prison is about and pulls no punches. It’s what kids need to see – real consequences happening to real people.
This show was amazing. I am not a big fan of reality TV but this one I just couldn’t miss and now I am hooked. It is a real eye opener for children teetering on the wrong side of the law. I am a 40 year old woman and I’ve never had a brush with the law other than a speeding ticket or two, and I cry like a baby when I get one. Prior to watching this show I was very naive about prison life. The appearance of the ladies, their stories and heartache. It was hard for me to look at some of the ladies and make myself believe they are murderers. Somehow I just never really think of women being so cold, evil and dangerous. I was so scared for the teen girls who visted Chowchilla Correctional. I cried when they cried and found myself praying that they’d turn their lives around so that this would never be their reality. I was absolutely frozen with fear when they introduced “Diabla” but found it heart warming when during the one-on-one session she cried talking about her daughter and not being there for her. I made my daughters watch it last night. I am raising two step-daughters who’s mother is incarcerated and has been for the past 15 years. To actually see what her life has been like and some of the things she’s surely had to endure, I just can’t seem to come to terms with it. And to think but for the Grace of God that could have been me. I am hooked, I won’t be mising a single episode. Oh, and I’ve started leaving the house a little earlier so I don’t have to speed getting to work – God knows I don’t want to every see flashing blue light behind me again.
I’m not sure where to begin..My boyfriend and I are 18 months into recovery (meth and alcohol addiction) and we are working a hard program, we both have sponsors that we meet with regularly. In the program, they teach us to humble ourselves and ask for help when we need it. Well here I am, trying to exhaust all my resources. My step daughter is 14, she thinks it’s ok to come home high and not go to school. Her behavior is how ours was in our addiction and we are at our wits end. She has already been to juvenile hall and has a rap sheet a mile long, we have her in counceling but that’s not helping. She watches “Scared Straight” and thinks it’s a total joke. I would like to know how to enroll her in this program so she can see that she is going down the wrong road. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, all I can do for her now is just pray that God watches over her. We need help, and I fear time is running out for her. Please please contact me to help her understand that this is real life and not a joke.Thank you, and God Bless.
keep this progarm on if it gets one young kid to stop and think what well happen to them thats great. i watch this program every week, i make sure i dont mess it and i got family and friends to watch.i cried at the 1st one as all i could see was my son trying to help a kid being were he was jail and then sent to prison.i just lost my son he passed in sept 17 2010 in jail with an illness meaning cancer.i just hope these guys can help just one young person thats all it takes.john erving was 45 when he died and he did help one young man and he came to john funnel and just cried as he lost a good friend. so thats a good thing.
Ladies and Gentlemen.
What can I say? IT”S ABOUT DAM TIME.!! This show ,this program needs to be!.
These kids NEED to see the other side of crime.
it’s not guts and glory ,You WILL get caught you WILL do time, and it’s not pretty.
There are men in there that WILL fight you, beat you and some will RAPE you!
you can’t scare these kids enough! I hope this show goes big time.
Thank you.
I love my child more than life but, he is troubled. He steals and lies and bullies kids as well as stealing homework and copying it for himself and stealing from teachers. He tells his teachers off and this is in one day. No one wants to help unless he does a crime but i am trying to prevent it before it happens. Everyone says that a kid does this because he has a bad life at home, this is so bull, i was abused when i was a child very much tortured and i promised i would never be that kind of parent and i do not abuse my kids and i make sure they know they are loved everyday but there are consequences for thing they do please help
i enjoy the show and i would like to know what i can do to help my grandsons, i would like to know why cincinnati, ohio don’t have it here. and how cani get information for my grandsons and granddaughters,
I need to put my daughter on this show
I would like to thank Mr. Shapiro and the entire team at Arnold Shapiro Productions for their efforts filming at Valley State Prison for Women. The Crossroads Program featured as the premiere episode of Beyond Scared Straight was a real eye opener for the viewer. I have spent the past 22 years in corrections and the last 18 with California’s female population. The Crossroads Program was designed to allow at risk youth the opportunity to see and feel the realities of incarceration. Although the events described by the inmate facilitators are true, they are not every day occurrences. Beneath the language, tattoo’s and frightening stares, are inmates who feel the need to help those individuals who may be lost and in need of some help and guidance, in other words, a reality check. Although the intensity of the program goes without saying, it is the one on one time that has the most effect on the juveniles. I believe Arnold delivered that message in a very concise way and accurate way. I will say this, in regards to Pretty Boy, Green Eyes and Diabla, what you see it what you get. I hope I have the opportunity to work with the professionals at ASP in the future.
I have a 11 year old he has trouble listening to me and in school as well he has poor grades. We watch your show and I tell him to clean his act or else I will send him to your show. He blames his dad for everything he does wrong gets in trouble and lies, since his dad is nt around. I hope I can get more info regarding your show. Thank you!!
this show is the realist thing these teens can see besides actually being there. i’ve seen many comments on how to sign your own child up. i also would like the same info. if anybody fids a way to sign up please post it asap
