The Social Network has been longlisted in 13 categories, while True Grit, The Fighter, Alice In Wonderland, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Shutter Island each have 12 categories apiece. Today’s early announcement of nominations is to give BAFTA members a longer time to view the 5 films in contention, and raise the profile of this year’s foreign-language films.
