Chris McShane has been promoted to co-head of production and development for Jon Stewart’s Busboy Prods. He will share the role with current head Rich Korson as the two will oversee development and production of Busboy projects. McShane is currently the executive in charge of production for Busboy on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report. At Busboy, he has helped to develop and produce such shows as Important Things with Demetri Martin for Comedy Central, The Naturalized for the History Channel and was played a key part in the production of Jon Stewart’s and Stephen’s Colbert’s Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear.
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

Developed Demetri Martin’s show?!? I’m sure Demetri would concur.
The only thing he’s developed is a good family tree. He’s Jon Stewart’s brother-in-law.
Korson doesnt share. Watch out. Hope job comes with rearview mirror.
Hey Korson – how you doin? I worked with you years ago. Nice to see you are the same schmuck after all these years.
Chris is a cool guy and works his ass off – well deserved bump. Congrats!
Chris is a great guy with a really dry, intelligent sense of humor. He’s a pleasure to work with. This is well deserved.
Mcshane has amazing work ethic and a wicked dark sense of humor, regardless of his family ties.
In this business, working w people you can trust is as important as their experience even though I don’t doubt Chris has put in the hours.
Congrats Roomie.
Really?? I have worked on a few Busboy projects over the years and it’s been the standing joke among the staff how Mcshane sits in the corner and contributes NOTHING. We all wondered how he kept that job. Now we know. He is Jon Stewart’s brother in-law.
Chris is a joke. That guy brings nothing to the table other than is famous brother in-law Stewart. I’ve worked on a few shows at Busboy and we all wondered who he was related to.
Go Fredo go.
Really?? We all wondered how Korson kept his job. Fantastic party last night. Heard Korson is “pursuing other opportunities now.” Didn’t see Mcshane. I am sure he was in a corner somewhere working diligently on his family tree or slamming back some Jameson figuring out how to contribute. Erin Go Bragh!
Love me that McShane, he makes me giggle real real hard. Curious to see so much animosity towards someone who quietly sits in the corner. How many gallons of water are you going to need to wash down those sour grapes, Korson?
The standing joke at the CAA party was that everyone knew Korson got FIRED! Korson needs to keep his bitching about Stewart and Mc Shane to people he can trust.
Korson – you need to first wait until your comment has been approved before submitting a nearly identical comment. It’s hilarious that you worked with McShane for all of those years and didn’t know who his brother-in-law was. You’re the joke.
Rich is a great guy. Smart, funny and a pleasure to work with. He has done so much for the autism community here in NYC. It’s a shame the way he is being treated here.
Rich is a tremendous person and talented producer. Chris is a good person as well. I wish them both the best.
Remember karma anonymous message board posters.
Korson is hands down one of the best execs in NYC.
Chris is just a “good person”, but Rich is a “tremendous person and talented producer”? Whoa, sell it!
3 comments within 10 minutes? Hilarious
Karma? Yes, remember
Really? Korson is one of the best execs in NYC? He’s got NOTHING but recycled ideas.
I attended school with Chris McShane 628 Trillion light Years ago, give or take a few hundred thousand millenniums . Chris was always busting the room up at age ten eleven and twelve. He was KNOWN appreciated and admired for his sense of humor. I work in the industry as well – and I say this to the people who are slinging negative comments about Chris – Folks like you are a dime a dozen and usually the people on set who hang out at Crafty slappin’ their jaws and draggin’ their asses come ‘crunch time.’ And so far as the whole ‘knowing people to get places’ line – What’s wrong with that? First of all how do YOU know how he got to where he is and second – If that WAS the case the what is wrong with it? Having connections is nothing to be ashamed of – even when they are family. You think the man would have the credits he does if he shit his pants and babbled all day long? He’s obviously doing something right. It excites me very much to find that Chris made something of himself. I congratulate him
