EXCLUSIVE: Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen missed his call time this morning but called the producers of the hit CBS comedy series to say that he needs to see a doctor and will come to the show’s rehearsal this afternoon. Per Sheen’s publicist Stan Rosenfield, “Charlie woke up this morning with an ear infection, and he will go see his ear doctor first, and then go to the set.”
Sheen has been under extra scrutiny following his wild weekend in Las Vegas that allegedly included heavy drinking and porn star encounters. He showed up for work on time yesterday and performed his duties on the series. Sheen has also been an object of concern for CBS, Warner Bros. and the series’ producers who have been looking for ways to help the star deal with his addiction problems.

How come only drugged-addicted celebs are the only humans who suffer “exhaustion”? The everyday hard-working American who works long hours, struggles to pay the bills and maintain a family somehow manages to get through it all. Yet, these pampered, irresponsible celebs who make more in a week than most people make in a year are always exhausted, dehydrated or I guess now they are all coming down with ear infections.
It will only be a matter of time before Lindsay Lohan gets her own “ear infection.”

I agree with this in concept. However, his exploits may become a problem very soon for one of the highest rated shows on television. Which will effect the money. This is why it is news.

Anyone else would be fired by now. Anyone else would be deemed an insurance risk and warned or fired or heck even sued. He’s a talented guy but I don’t understand why people like him, mainly MEN, seem to get free passes. If this were an ACTRESS she would have been fired by now or publicly ridiculed by the network and/or fired. Sure, he’s the cash cow but they do have Big Bang Theory so forget Two & a Half Men and forget him until and unless he cleans up his act.
Why would they only want one hit show? Of course they’re going to pamper him, and at the end of the day, look the other way, so long as he can get all of the episodes filmed in a reasonable amount of time.
Even if he missed several rehearsals, or even shooting days, who cares? As long as they can shoot around him, it’s fine.
Ear infection? Kudos Rosenfield is getting creative. I was expecting “dehydration” or “exhaustion”.

If this guy doesn’t get some help soon he is going to die. What is so sad is that he seems to be surrounded by people who just don’t care. Sycophants who enable his alcoholism and addictions because he is the cash cow. Haven’t they learned from the many great talents who have died way before their time? I’m sure Sheen is most appreciative of all the good kind thoughts everyone is giving him and is taking under heavy advisement everyone’s wish for him to dry out and stay away from those awful porn stars. Let’s see. He knows how much fun he will have going to the porn convention where he can drop six figures on pussy and booze without flinching. On the other hand, he knows that his rockstar behavior only makes him more popular (if that’s possible) with his adoring fans whose support of him make him the highest paid television player on the planet.
Maybe you’ll compromise and agree that it’s, say, 50/50. Half publicity and half cuz he wants to get high and have an orgy with two or three of most willing of hard bodied young nubiles, who will do things that make a sailer blush.
