It’s a damn shame that they ignored Janty Yates’ brilliant work on ROBIN HOOD. It’s sad that they can’t separate the quality of the craftsmanship from the quality of the film. Sure, the movie is flawed and isn’t among the year’s best, but the design of it, the cinematography and the costumes all deserve recognition this season. If the guilds won’t recognize it, it’s pretty much guaranteed the Oscars won’t.
