Glee is going younger and younger in its theme episodes: Madonna, Britney Spears and now Justin Bieber. This may not be a full-blown theme episode like the first two, but according to TVLine‘s Michael Ausiello, Fox is planning a Justin Bieber-centered episode featuring several songs of the tween heartthrob. The episode is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 15. It is probably not coincidental that the Justin Bieber feature documentary, Never Say Never, opens on Feb. 11. For now, there are no plans for Bieber to act in the Glee episode. It is not clear if the decision was made after the show’s producers saw his acting debut on the season premiere of CSI.

And there goes the last vestige of interest I had in Glee.
Those first 13 episodes were so good, too.
I unfortunately have the same feeling. I really dug the first half of season one. The second half was still good but it was running on the momentum of the storylines set up in the first half without bringing up any new interesting ones. They’re turning in on themselves this season and the new storylines are more and more kooky trying to get back that first season magic. The same thing happened with Nip/Tuck. It was watchable for about 1.5 seasons and then it just devolved into insanity. Maybe this is the next O.C. – popular and a cultural zeitgeist for a few seasons and then suddenly disappears when the fans who came up with it grow out of it. But then Glee’s numbers are much, much higher than the O.C.’s ever were, so it has a lot further to fall. Who knows.

Beiber: Can we say overexposed?
Overexposed. This is a tough one. Here is a little inside inflection on what’s happening on the Bieber front at this time.
I work at the studio which pitched and sold Bieber’s management (read: SCOOTER) on this 3D movie/”rockumentary” idea coming out next month. The thinking is that JB is hot right now, and that might not last. So in comes the old adages “strike while the iron is hot”, and “make the deal before someone else does.”
Someone like you, or most adults in America for that matter, will not want to see this movie. But Bieber’s tween-year-old fans will, and their parents will have no choice but to pay for 2 tickets (more if more girls are in the house) to see this film. Run numbers on Bieber’s fanbase, and you can see why this looks like a financially sound idea.
Does the studio want to produce a Justin Bieber film? Hell no it doesn’t. Everyone I know working on this title tried to avoid being assigned like the plague, but at the end of the day, the greenest member of the team must take the hit.
Same with FOX I imagine, and the GLEE kids. I see at least one cast member every day – they shoot on our lot. Do you think they WANT to dance to Justin Bieber songs? Are you insane? Do you think Ryan’s passion is devoting half his show to “Baby” and the like? Nope, but FOX wants in on this cash cow too. So maybe they pushed it on him. Give and take – FOX doesn’t love every song or theme Ryan’s team comes up with.
So there you have it – it’s simple figures. Don’t watch the episode, and tune in next week when they cover Bruno Mars for the fifth time. Meh.
And, P.S., Justin may be generally overexposed right now, but you must understand that we as adults have seen so many fads come and go. Scooter ain’t stupid. Annoying and irritating to deal with, maybe, but he’s attempting to make money for himself and he’s trying to help secure his son’s future, while that is still possible. Can’t blame him for that.
Do a little digging on this guy – he hasn’t got a lot to give. But he’s got Justin. What would YOU do if you had a moneymaker on your hands that could help secure the rest of BOTH your lives?
And you should also know that while I haven’t seen “Never Say Never” myself, other skeptics who were forced to did, and surprisingly came back with great reviews. Who’da thought?

The industry said the same thing about the Jonas Bros. 3D film. It “couldn’t miss” because of their fan base. Predicted to open at $30 to $40m, it opened at $12.5 and made only $23m worldwide.
Thirteen-year-old girls are about the most unpredictable creatures on the planet.
I think in this episode Justin will be water-skiing while trying to jump a shark…

I guess the producers have agreed to let Cheryl Cole on because Justin reportedly refused to go on Glee unless Cheryl was invited.

There might actually be one coming up, if Taylor can improve her popularity. You must remember that ever since she did that round of horrendous award show performances last year, her image has begun to fade.
I want Matty Morrison to keep his job. But this show is now DEAD to me. I was still having trouble forgiving them for the “Gwenie” episode but now Justin!! I’m done.
