HBO is back on track with Boardwalk Empire, Treme, Luck and Game of Thrones. HBO’s days are back.
I’m not sure if you watch it, but would you add Bored To Death to that list?I would. It’s a very enjoyable show.
I love Bored to Death, it was really good this season. Thats a little gem for sure.
HBO sucks. I still haven’t forgiven them for Deadwood. Boardwalk is the most overrated show on tv. None of their shows can compete with the peak of HBO in 2007 and 2008. The Sopranos, Deadwood & Rome were the best this network will ever be.
Why is Kate Winslet the only one mentioned in relation to Mildred Pierce? Guy Pierce is in it and he’s such a great actor along with Evan Rachel Wood-who I consider to be one of young hollywood’s greatest talents….
Guy Pearce? Such a big star that even you couldn’t spell his name right? I think you answered your own question.
Anyone know when Curb Your Enthusiasm starts again?
Read “Game of Thrones.” Loved the pilot. April’s too long to wait.
Ditto.
When the hell is Luck premiering? They were aiming for a January launch, weren’t they?
Fall or Q1 2012.
I absolutely loved the movie with Joan Crawford as Mildred Pierce. The casting of Winslet suggests to me that they were worried the audience wouldn’t sympathize with a tougher, edgier female lead. Too bad. Todd Haynes can do no wrong, though…
Winslet is a much better fit for the role than Crawford. As much as I loved the Curtiz film, it’s not a good adaptation of Cain’s novel. This version has the look and feel of a proper adaptation.
