EXCLUSIVE: Earlier this afternoon, we broke the news about the ongoing creative overhaul of NBC’s Law & Order: Los Angeles that has led to the departure of two regulars, Regina Hall and Megan Boone, who play DDAs on the Law & Order spinoff. They have now been joined by Skeet Ulrich, the first actor to be cast on LOLA back in July, who will also be leaving the series as part of the the creative revamp. Ulrich plays Detective Rex Winters, one of the two cops on the Wolf Films/UMS-produced police-legal drama. I hear that Law & Order chief Dick Wolf, who has also tweaked his other Law & Order series during their first seasons, will make the changes on LOLA on the fly, without stopping production on the show that is now filming Episode 12.

I liked the show before I read that Skeet was fired. He was the standout talent on the show and also the only attractive male lead. No wonder it is canceled. Shame on Dick Wolf, he made the same mistake with Chris Noth. I guess even “Creative Genius” Mr. Wolf fucks up,

I too thought he was the best of the cast. the show it self is very entertaining. It shows real investigation, and the process to investigate, unlike “Law and Order Criminal Intent” Taking the show off the air, terrible decision , Talk about Criminal Intent!!

I watched the show after they killed off Skeet and it really sucked. Taking the show off the air is fine with me without Skeet. He was the only reason I watched it.
Thank goodness for Netflix, I can watch Jericho over and over again.

I agree with you! When I heard they were adding to the franchise, I was doubtful it could work. That was until they said Skeet Ulrich would be there. That was enough to get me to watch. He made Jericho and it may be proven that he was the cement needed for LOLA.

Very foolish. Skeet was the best part of the show, but as we know, NBC is famous for destroying good shows. Life was great as well, but they could have cared less. It seems like they are doing their best to stay as low as possible in the ratings. Without Skeet, the show will loose its luster.

Don’t kill off Skeet. Skeet is a Law & Order natural and I’ve watched all the series since they began. Having seen him on other shows, I had to smile when I saw how quickly and “effortlessly” he moved into the L&O mode. Get rid of Terrence Howard (no offense, but he doesn’t fit, like Kate already said). Molina is good and so is Skeet’s partner. Otherwise shake up the rest of the bunch.

In fact, I had never heard of him till I saw him on this show and I really like him. Great Job. THis will reall hurt their ratings. I also think getting rid of Skeet was a big mistake. He’s the reason we started watching L&O again. Never should have killed him.Now you can’t bring him back. The only problem with the show was like everything elso this season. Everyone put their shows opposite each other on a few nights and you can only record 2 shows at a time. Other nights and weekends there is nothing to watch. Many people feel this way. No reason to have 4 good shows opposite each other. Spread them out and you will all have good ratings. Get rid of the decision maker…he doesn’t speak for the viewers. You cancelled good shows for no reason. At least you had the good sense to bring back Chase. Now get Skeet on another show.
Great post. Skeet was already on another great show. It was
called Jericho. I was also hoping for Jericho to be revived. To me that would be the only reason for Skeet to leave LOLA. But, If it was the idea of some idiot writer, producer, or director of the show, or NBC itself, then they know what they can do with this show. I’d tell them, but I’m too much of a lady to say it.
He was also on another show that also didn’t get picked up. It was called Miracles. You can watch all the episodes (13) on youtube. They are in 4 parts but they have the whole episode. I just discovered Skeet and what a tremendous actor he is. I had seen him earlier on Scream, but that was years ago. He did well then also.
So disappointed thought it was good with Skeet and Regina. DUMB move to kill Skeet off.
Can anyone explain how they killed off Skeet Ulrich in episode 9 but then he re-appears in other episodes further on in the series after he has been killed off. Very confusing. He was great on the show and I am fed up of watching all these shows and then they get cancelled.
wow i couldnt get over the fact that this actor left. my husband is not a fan of L & O in general so when this actor was in it he loved watching. the other guy has shaved off his mustache and looks like Kojak. Alfred Molina is good but i get a vibe of Goren there. i was hoping Skeet was just in hiding til the bad guy was caught. whats this about him coming back in. we only have this on Universal in Ireland for 4 weeks now so its all new…..get a grip Dick!!!!!

I actually thought Skeet was fine in the role and thought there was potential for him with this series. They better not get rid of Corey Stoll. He’s absolutely the best thing about the series and one of the reasons I’ve stuck with the show. Great ‘stache and great actor!
LOVE Corey Stoll!!! Handsome, hot and talented beyond belief – the only thing worth watching on that insipid show. Corey showed his acting chops in NY on the stage in the sublime revival of “View from the Bridge” last year…

It would be a great move to bring Jeremy Sisto’s character from Law & Order to LOLA in Ulrich’s place.
Cyrus Lupo’s background and the character’s past career moves could easily explain a transfer to Los Angeles, and give a welcome link to the new show.

Doesn’t matter if Skeet stays or goes. When all the sh@# was going down a year ago this month, I vowed to never watch NBC again to any extent as long as Jeff Zucker and Jay Leno were at the network. I’m not a huge Conan O’Brien fan, but what happened was so disgusting that I promised myself I was done with the network while Zucker and Leno remained. Now Zucker is fired, but Leno’s still there. NBC, imagine if only 10 percent of would be viewers feel as I do? (I bet it’s a lot higher than 10 percent, probably over 30 percent.) What a difference that would make in your failing ratings. I will watch a little Community when it’s on the schedule, but that’s it. Come to your senses.

What a moronic statement. First of all, 10% of all viewers don’t feel like you do. The reason that people don’t watch NBC is because the shows aren’t that good. If they come up with shows people like, people will watch. Second of all, you are breaking your own boycott by watching Community, therefore proving my first point.

I thought this show was poorly cast from the beginning. Hope these changes are for the better. Take a lesson from SVU. It took them a bit to get their footing in the first year and they have made some missteps as well to get where they are. Bring back the original. Nothing beats that.

My sentiment exactly. Skeet is one of the world class actors. I had seen him in different roles, but he completely had my full attention/adoration when he played the role of Ray Singleton in THE MAGIC OF ORDINARY DAYS. He sure was really convincing, and he sure is THE REASON I watch LOLA. Now that he is no longer in the show, I have no reason to rush home and watch anything on NBC. As for Terrence Howard, the guy is an ok actor, but his voice is whiney/weak. Understand that the show is trying to comply with the EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY, so Terrence gets to stay. My prayers are that Skeet would find more deserving roles for his amazing talents. Bless your heart, Skeet!!! Love ya!

I agree with you. Plus he was the only good looking guy on the show. I’m so sick of bald guys. He was the only one with hair and good looks plus his acting was fine. This show stinks. The only good thing was they got De La Garza(I think that was her name) from Law and Order on this. I like her in this part. I think she didn’t have much of a part on CSI Miami (except as the non-acting David Caruso’s wife for a minute.) His idea of acting is turning to one side and taking off or putting on his shades.
and now get rid of the rest of them. this is truly a badly cast ghost of a franchise. How about transferring the guys from NY – Sisto, Jesse Martin, Alana de la Garza would be a great LA team…add in some good LA actors for the DA and Lieutenant and you have a great show

I thought Mustache Guy would be the first to go. Also not a big fan of Terence Howard. Agree that they should bring Lupo to the West Coast. Subplot could be his transition to L.A. I’d watch then.
Skeet, and the actor that played his partner, were my whole reason for watching the show. I really was enjoying that part of the show, and I think the actors had a really nice chemistry with each other which made their on-screen friendship feel believably immediately.
And now, I have one less show to watch this spring.

The L&O shows have all made casting missteps, but I didn’t think that any of the actors (some of whom are excellent in other works) really found a comfort level with their characters or the tone of the show. Personally, I found Stoll to be so awkward that I gave up on the show.
It is probably a good move for Ulrich to be able to look for work elsewhere. The how or why that situation came about may be less good.
I got bored of all the Law & Order Shows and stopped watching them. The only reason I started watching again was because Skeet starred in LOLA. Getting rid of him was a very stupid move but now I don’t have to watch the show anymore. But I will watch any show that Skeet is in.
