New York, NY (Jan. 27, 2011) – Media Rights Capital (MRC) has promoted film executive Brye Adler to Vice President of Production, MRC Film. Adler will report to the independent film, television and digital studio’s Co-CEOs Modi Wiczyk and Asif Satchu.
Since joining MRC’s film division in 2009, Adler has been a central player on the production team overseeing the soon-to-be-released The Adjustment Bureau, written and directed by George Nolfi and starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt; and the upcoming 30 Minutes or Less directed by Ruben Fleischer and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari. In addition, Adler assisted in the development and production of fall 2010’s Devil, the first film in M. Night Shyamalan’s three-film “The Night Chronicles” series for MRC.
In his new role, Adler will be responsible for all aspects of creative, development and production for MRC Film. As Vice President of Production, he will also work to identify emerging and established filmmakers whose sensibilities align with the studio. Currently, Adler is supervising creative on TED, starring and directed by Seth MacFarlane in his feature film debut; and Elysium, the first of two new film projects to be helmed by District 9 writer/director Neill Blomkamp starring Jodie Foster and Matt Damon. Additionally, Adler will oversee MRC’s partnerships with David Fincher and their “Panic Pictures” production and financing company, as well as the studio’s relationship with
M. Night Shyamalan and their “The Night Chronicles” series.
Prior to joining MRC, Adler worked at Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, helping to cultivate a slate of more than 50 feature film projects from filmmakers including Marc Foster, David Fincher and Cameron Crowe. Adler graduated from Emory University with a degree in Sociology.

Well deserved. He’s smart, hard working, and a nice guy to boot.
No one better out there!
MRC is really on a roll!
No doubt!
All that cash out the door and not a penny of it coming back. They are living like rock stars.
I worked with brye a few times… He is blessed with Freudian emotional intelligence, hawking-esque regular intelligence, and the balls of a Young Ghenhis Khan. I’m bullish on this kids outlook… To say the least.
I’ve had the displeasure of working with Brye, and I have to disagree with the above. Found him to be uneducated in the industry and really not that creatively bright. It’s a wonder he makes it anywhere, but i guess empty talk can get you places!
Extremely well deserved. Thriving in a tough job, and one of the most genuine guys around.
well deserved and smart of the principals of MRC to stop hiring agents to run their film division when they have the talent in house!
good work Brye!
MRC is still in business?
He’s as impressive as my left nut!
Well then you’re dangling something extra special there DJ. Adler is a hitter. A really smart guy, with a point of view and substance to back it up. Quit your hating and stay focused on making the lease payments on your 3-series.
Haha!!!
In the internet age, if some anonymous douche DIDN’T talk smack, I would have been extremely disappointed. I’ve worked for and with Adler – and although I’m not close with him personally, I will say this: he is one of the brightest, most hardworking and and honest dudes in H-town.
Way to go bro!
Dude is also super handsome and about seven feet tall and has a rich velvet-oak voice. And was a star athlete in college. And his last name means “eagle.”
He’s basically like the Bill Brasky character from the old SNL sketches.
A regular Adonis!
Adler is hitting .773 and dusting 5 scripts every Thursday night. This explains why I saw him with Joe Hipps mowin’ a Cobb salad with an extra bread basket at the century city mall.
For a guy who keeps his head down and just does his job with no fanfare, Brye has had a meteoric rise in this industry. He’s got intelligence, good taste, and is easy to work with (but no pushover). MRC is smart to promote him. He’s working with A-List writers, directors, and actors, cultivating and expanding the MRC brand. He’s a rising star with a bullet.
