God bless you Keith. Thank you for fighting the good fight.
Good fight? Really? I honestly think this is the worst thing that could happen to Fox. Keith O. helped turn more people into Fox viewers than any one of MSNBC’s talking heads.
What “good fight”, SIR? He created a small niche by catering to the nutcake left wing viewership. His shows were an embarrassment to broadcast journalism.
well said
He should have been fired years ago! Now lets hope “Tingling Feeling” running down my leg Mathews” does the same.
You Sir are an embarrassment to this comment board. Keith Obermann was a compassionate American. Always trying to right wrongs and help the less fortunate people of this country. When has Limpballs or Beck or O’really ever done anything except to incite one people against another people.
Keith could pack more good information into a 60-second segment than anyone else I’ve seen. He stayed with the “Who, what, when, how” and left the “Why?” to us, although he provided some insights of his own into that, only as suggestion. Refer to how many times he prefaced his analysis with the phrase “Could it be…?” before he stated them. He’s a master journalist, will sincerely be missed.
Who cares what they say? They’ll get canned next.
I highly doubt HBO will be canning Bill Maher anytime soon.
Why is it that conservatives are drawn to the drone of sound bites, twisted facts, hate mongers, and people who really don’t care about the less fortunate or the middle class? Obama should have added they cling to Fox News along with guns and religion. I also think that Keith’s vocabulary was too expansive for them. Think for yourselves for a change!
Keith Olbermann, What a POS!
GOODBYE WORST PERSON IN THE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD!
Keith Olberman leaving is a win-win. Either the viewership will go down and MSNBC will look like idiots and Comcast will lose money as a result. Or as MSNBC becomes more conservative, it will eat away at Fox News viewership and weaken their network. I see CNN as the big benefactor.
Kieth who?
Goodbye worst person in the universe!!!
God bless you Keith. Thank you for fighting the good fight……….uh, that would be the good fight for more money. We can sleep tight knowing that you will continue to fight for the poor and the oppressed in some other place — with even more money in your finely tailored, fat cat pockets.
As they have always said in show biz (for those of you that might mistake this as some kind of hate inspiring speech) — Break a Leg. After all, and before anything else we all know that you are simply another vapid entertainer.
The right wing won’t be happy until Glen Beck is hosting the 9 PM show on MSNBC and being considered “left wing.”
I watch Olbermann every now and then when I need some drama-queen comic relief. When you are left wing, and John Stewart, the premier “comic” left wing shill, chooses to belittle you with a spot-on impersonation, you, SIR, *know* you are bad.
Olbermann does have his followers. They should realize that this “quitting” was just a cynical ploy to try to make more money. With Olbermann, it never has been about the “good fight” or other such nonsense. (How, precisely, does rabid distortion of the truth equal
“fighting the good fight,” SIR?) It is about Olbermann’s gigantic ego.
I fully expect Olbermann’s followers to raise whatever ruckus they can, and I also expect NBC to bring him back. Probably just a ratings stunt.
If you’re really in need some drama-queen comic relief, I suggest you tune in to the Glen Beck show.
Jim in Nashville, I believe you just hit the nail on the head.
diversion and speculation are on the propagandists mind.
Who can blame him for wanting to make more $$$, that’s why he left sportscasting in the first place. Clearly he was in over his head in the larger arena of ideas, so perhaps he should go back to sportscasting.
“Who can blame him for wanting to make more $$$”
So you’re on his side, yet you’re a right winger so you can’t be on his side. Must be fun to watch you chase your own tail over that one.
Drop the BS.
bottom line – he wasn’t making NBC/GE/Comcast enough money.
Why???
Because he sucks.
Left wing miserables.
Makes me lol that I’m happier than youneven when my party is out of power. For now.
Cannot WAIT to hear you all crying in your cornflakes while crying for the assassination of another president I love while I suck it up and respect the prez that’s in power, regardless of my views.
We would be in teal trouble if you kook fringe democrats would stop soiling your partys name and start living in the real world.
“Makes me lol that I’m happier than you even when my party is out of power.”
You will be happy for the next several years then, since Obama will be re-elected.
Olbermann is positively unhinged. I’m surprised he made it this long at MSNBC. He had quite the storied history at ESPN where he finally burned too many bridges. He’s batshyt crazy!
If he’s batshyt crazy, why isn’t he on Fox with Beck and co.?
Well, Olbermann is not crazy enough for Fox.He need to add more conspiracy theories to his arsenal.
His ratings explains why Fox wouldn’t have him…rejected by an overwhelming majority of the American people….just like the hate-filled, spiteful, angry, vicious liberalism he represented.
Now he can take his 100,000 audience viewership to China where just as many will be impacted. What a communist dope he was. No impact on anything other than to waste money for General Electric which co-owns NBC. What a big fat a-hole he was.
What’s interesting in the responses to this story and the one specific to Mr. Olbermann’s leaving is the number of people who are commenting on him as if they know him. I guess this means that at one time they have all worked with him. Unlike so many of you, I’ve never met the man and can only judge him from his program. I used to watch his show pretty regularly and since many but not all of his apparent political beliefs are similar to mine, I enjoyed watching it. Now I am going to say something that may shock some of you rabid critics of Mr. Olbermann: every now and again something in a particular news story struck me as exaggerated or just dumb. That’s right — sometimes I (a left-leaning liberal – uh oh) thought his take on pieces had errors. Did he know this and intentionally mislead people? Did he knowingly twist facts to make them fit his point of view? It’s possible – you see, I don’t know the man so I couldn’t say.
Those of you who are fans and supporters of the Fox News morning show hosts / reporters / commentators, Sarah Palin and George W. Bush and his administration: are any of you willing to admit that they have embellished stories or said flat out ridiculous things? What could possibly make you think that conservatives and right-wingers have the market on “the truth?”
Words have consequences. His were angry, hate-filled, spiteful, vindictive, demeaning and repulsive. His charges were unsupported by fact or any sense of reality. He diminished us as Americans. There’s no evidence on air that he had any honesty or integrity. American is much better off now that he’s gone.
I take it from your post you believe everything Mr. Olbermann said was hate-filled and that every story he did was fact free. There was a period of time when I watched him for most of his weekly broadcasts, and my political leanings aside, I sincerely don’t believe that he spoke with spiteful, demeaning words and made up stories out of whole cloth for 50 minutes each night. I’ve acknowledged that there were reports that seemed to have a questionable statistic and was maybe just dumb, and I will go on to say (as Mr. Olbermann himself has done directly and indirectly) that he has an enormous ego — he’s made fun of this fact himself on a number of occasions — and has gotten really amped up about certain topics. Has he ever gotten carried away or gone too far once in a while? Probably. I can certainly understand that someone who didn’t share his political beliefs would disagree with almost everything he said.
You made no mention of your thoughts on the question I ended with. My only guess can be that you feel Fox News, Ms. Palin, conservative and far right radio show hosts and the like have done nothing but been honest and forthcoming, and utterly reliable on all counts. To me, this seems unrealistic.
Lastly, my hunch is that at some point in the not too distant future Mr. Olbermann will be visible again, either on television, in radio, or in print. My hope is that this doesn’t stress you out too much.
Wake UP all of you!!!!!!! It was Bush’s fault while Cheyney and Palin were behind it also. Can’t any of you see that. I’m sure this week Rachel will get proof positive that these soulless, money hungry repubs had planned this whole thing.
He left for more money?
He surely wants more money so he can immediately donate it all to the poor and downtrodden. Otherwise, he’s just another liberal hypocrite like Al Gore (who wants us all to live the ‘green’ lifestyle even though his own lifestyle is anything but ‘green’).
Gee. Keith quit halfway through his contract term. Just like Gov Palin. 2 of a kind I guess.
Please be sure to remember that when Caribu Barbi runs for office.
Ed, at least Palin was ELECTED to something, Olbermann couldn’t win an election if he was running unopposed!
Keith “THE DUNCE OLBERMANN” to replace ROBERT GIBBS……GIBBS to REPLACE Nancy PELOSI….
There is a god!
Keep in mind that it is Comcast that is now taking over. What with the inevitable service outages, fee increases, and other trifles that Comcast subscribers have come to know and love, it will be a miracle that MSNBC even stays on the air!
“Mr. Maddow” will need to work harder to protect “his” show. I would bet that “he” will develope more masculine traits if that’s possible.
I think the three stoges (Mr Maddow, Sergeant Schultz, and O’Donnell or Randall Boggs from Monsters Inc. as I see him) should combine their shows at the same time. They could almost draw a million and then let soft-ball host (Chris) on when they want that tingly feeling going up their leggs every now and then.
Maybe Michelle can instruct them on how to eat or raise their kids.
Our President can tell them how bad America is.
Finally, Joy-Less Behar can demostrate how to be a bitter bit*h.
Perhaps there are problems with your tv reception or you’ve not seen her show, but Rachel Maddow is actually a woman. And one who’s a heck of lot more intelligent than you or I. Hope that clears up your confusion.
Bill Maher is a pig.
Will be MISSED!!!!!
It’s laughable to listen to the left wing crybabies whine about Fox news, when the likes of Olbermann, Maddow, Matthews and the incredibly obnoxious Bill Maher spew their hateful diatribe much to the glee of the left. These hypocritical idealogues have brought hate speech to a new level; they still act as if November 2010 never happened. I can’t wait until 20212 to punish these arrogant fools again.
