At TCA this morning, AMC and A&E announced premiere dates for their upcoming new original scripted series.
AMC’s The Killing, a crime thriller from writer/executive producer/showrunner Veena Sud, which is based on the successful Danish series Forbrydelsen, will debut on April 3 in the Sunday 10 PM time slot. Mireille Enos (Big Love) is stars in the series from Fox TV Studios. AMC also announced that production on the delayed Season 4 of Breaking Bad will begin next Thursday.
A&E’s Breakout Kings will make its debut in the same Sunday 10 PM but a couple of weeks earlier, on March 13. The series, from Prison Break‘s Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora and Chernin Entertainment/Fox21, is an action ensemble drama about the partnership between the U.S. Marshals’ office and a group of convicts. The project, originally developed for Fox, landed at A&E after Fox passed on the pilot.

Why did they delay the production on Breaking Bad season 4.
Both series seem promising…much better than anything the networks are offering..
I hear Eric Ladin is the breakout actor in THE KILLING. I can’t wait to see it.
Go get em Bondesen. You are a great producer. I can’t figure out what svengali potion you use but it has been helpingb you fool the entire world how genuine you are. Disingenguous is your middle name.
Breakout Kings is great. It’s Fox 21, not FTVS……
Won’t tune into either.
Breakout smells of Chase.
Seen the BREAKOUT KINGS pilot.
NOTHING like Chase.
Chase is a straight, Bruckheimer suck-fest.
Breakout is a hip, fun, cool show. It was the best pilot last year by far.
The two shows couldn’t be more different.
Great to see Breakout Kings making it on air. The pilot was awesome.
Jimmi Simpson is incredible on this show and owned the panel today….
domenick lombardozzi is awesome.
great acter can wait to see him
This and Detroit 187 are two of the best new series to come out in years. Now I hear that they are cancelling Detroit 187. It seems that now days they cancel all of the great shows, and instead leave on adult cartoons. Whats going on? both of these shows have the same gritty feel as The Shield, which I loved, and really miss.
Both shows original and well done. Really enjoy “Break Out Kings.”
good stories, complex character,well directed.
thanks, Annb
Does the rain never stop in Portland or Seattle or wherever the hell The Killing is being filmed?
The movie the killing I have not seen so many scenes That touches your heart and the rest of your body. This ihas thrills it has u sit on your the edge of your seats. Its the best t.?.
This show is a joke. I am going to stop waisting my time watching this. Every week, nothing happens! The show is just toying with the audience and it’s annoying. Good acting, however. The best part is detective Lynden’s sidekick, the ill-mannered detective!
