After her standout performance on Fox’s short-lived drama Lone Star, there was a lot of talk about Adrianne Palicki’s star potential. She is on her way to prove it by landing one of the most iconic TV roles, that of Wonder Woman. Friday Night Lights alumna Palicki has been tapped for the title role in NBC’s Wonder Woman pilot, David E. Kelley’s reimagening of the iconic D.C. comic. In the reboot, from Warner Bros. TV, Wonder Woman/Diana Prince (Palicki) is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the
elements of her extraordinary life. Kelley is executive producing the project with long-time collaborator Bill D’Elia. Palicki won the role of Wonder Woman, closely associated with Lynda Carter, who played Diana Prince in the 1970s series, in a decisive manner – she was the only actress invited to test for it. Wonder Woman reunites Palicki with the pilot’s director Jeff Reiner who previously served as director/co-executive producer on Friday Night Lights for the series’ early run on NBC. Palicki, repped by UTA and Anonymous Content, next stars in the feature remake of Dawn.

My compliments to the chef!
She’s gorgeous & David E. Kelly has a rep for making unknowns from Neil Patrick Harris to Lauren Holly to Callista Flockhart into stars. Was Linda Carter well known before WW?
she can run her own company, probably bruca gave her the means…
i mean bruce…
I’m in total disappointed, very bad choice, no one deserves more than the talented Traci Dinwiddie, would be perfect.
Lynda Carter, had an interesting history married to top BCCI banker.
Yawn, but there is some interesting stuff there. Perhaps even the series could deal with some of Linda Carters real life stuff.
The recent movie, The International, used BCCI as inspirational material.
I have come to the conclusion that none of the twentysomething girl/women Hollyweird keeps throwing at us can play Wonder Woman. Period.
Add Hollyweird’s inability to respect the source material and there you have it.
PS: Anonymous, I don’t know who this chick Palicki is either. I don’t have cable nor was I interested in the show when it was on network, so enough with the Friday Night Lights hype and the faux outrage that people don’t know who she is.
“A successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life” – is this a remake of Wonder Woman or Mary Tyler Moore? Maybe she can use the Lasso of Truth on execs from Comcast.
Or DC Comics/Warner Brothers.
Look outside of Megan Fox, I think they have chosen well. I am one the BIGGEST fans of David E. Kelley and of Wonder Woman. I will be watching even if I am the only one. It is time Wonder Woman got her due and I am cheering David and the creative team on ALL THE WAY!
I think you will be the only one. This thing won’t make it to series. Look for the unaired pilot to turn up on YouTube along with Yvonne Craig’s test reel for Batgirl and the John Woo Lost In Space pilot.
So far her casting is the only non-disastrous move they’ve made on this project. She’s a great pick, but they need to seriously overhaul this thing.
This is kind of magnificent casting. Bravo! I was rooting for her.
Having actually read the (very fun and quite inspired) script, there is serious potential for awesomeness here. Fingers crossed…
Horrid casting. I’m pretty sure with her movie career in the dumps, Megan Fox, who actually looks like the character, might have been willing to do this. Palicki is fake-looking. If not Fox, there are plenty of other actresses who don’t have implants and would have been a better choice.
Megan Fox is too short (under 5’5”) – sorry, but she would have been wrong
I’ll change my Nay to a Yea if Palicki gets her implants removed and publicly apologizes to Gloria Steinem for ever having them.
Wait a second, a David E. Kelly show that isn’t about lawyers? That’s the real news here…
As for all the talk about implants, the show’s on NBC, so it’s not like you’ll ever see them…
I hope it’s not gonna fail like the “Bionic Woman” reboot (which I thought was not bad).
I hope the wardrobe people put her in pantyhose when she’s in her Wonder Woman outfit. I mean Linda Carter wore them, so should she.
Traci Dinwiddie is the only woman who could be Wonder Woman. Not gonna watch this without her. If you don’t know her, look her up and you’ll agree
YES YES, TRACI DINWIDDIE FOREVER WONDER WOMAN, NONE BETTER THAN HER TO PLAY WW. I’M AND THE REST OF THE WORLD ARE SAD.
Never heard of this Twitdoodle.
I just looked her up. Traci Dinwiddie is NOT Wonder Woman. If I was in a producer’s meeting and her name came up I would have to be brutally honest and say Traci is too bobbleheady… to eyebrowy… and TOO OLD (38). If the show runs as long as Smallville you’d have a Wonder Woman pushing 50. Be real. Let’s stop with all the friends of “Traci Dinwiddie” (which btw, her last name ain’t doin’ her any favors either) saying she should have the role. She shouldn’t. Adrianne Palicki is the right choice. Tall… Beautiful… Younger…. Who cares if she has implants.
All I saw when I looked T. Dinwiddie (Jesus, that name!) up is the same tactic that made Sean Young a laughingstock when she campaigned to play Catwoman to disastrous effect to her career. After years of little to no work, she’s on a soap now.
‘Nuff Said.
Let it go.
Sometimes when a door closes…
The only people who would know about this starlet are people in the biz because no one watched LONE STAR and barely anyone watched FNL despite the praised it received, and even then, no one was praising her acting.
Um, you’re mistaken. Adrianne was one of the most acclaimed actors out of a very large and talented ensemble.
Give the FNL hype a rest for God’s sakes. Nobody watched that show.
But, for Gods sake, please keep hyping Glee because people watch that crappy show. FNL was one of the best shows on TV and Adrianne was great on it.
I hope that’s an “off” picture of her. Good luck to this project…
The pilot script is fatally flawed. It doesn’t matter who they cast if they want WW to be successful they have to throw out Kelley’s script and start over. They won’t do this then they’ll wonder why it turned out so bad. They’ll spend money on audience research and the viewers will tell them it’s terrible and they still won’t understand why.
Palicki was my original pick so I’m delighted. She is a great actress with room for growth – her two final eps of ‘FNL’ were amazing.
Thanks guys, I needed that. Good ol’ fanboy myopia is always good for a laugh.
Well at least she’s 5’11. Aside from that I know nothing more about her acting to form an opinion. I just hope she’s good.
Wonder Woman reboot, meet Bionic Woman reboot (and Knight Rider reboot). At least Ben Silverman isn’t part of this disaster-in-the-making. NBC has proven once again they are capable of boneheaded program choices without Silverman.
she is so beautiful woman!! wow!I hope she will go well to that!!
When will Hollywood stop trying to convince us that drop-dead gorgeous 20-something women are corporate executives/marine biologists/etc? I’m a 27 year old woman and the only people I see my age on TV are either playing teenagers on Gossip Girl or have the careers and apartments of 40 year olds.
Holler!
