EXCLUSIVE: Anthony Ruivivar (The Whole Truth) and Nicole Ari Parker (Soul Food) have joined the cast of A&E’s hourlong pilot Big Mike. Paris Barclay has come on board to direct the Sony TV-produced pilot starring Greg Grunberg as a plus-size detective with the 
San Diego Police Department. Ruivivar, repped by Gersh and The Collective, will play Mike’s partner Armando, a former Marine, and Parker, repped by Gersh and KLWG, will play lieutenant Grace Peterson, Mike and Armando’s boss. Barclay most recently has served as executive producer-director on HBO’s In Treatment and directed 3 episodes of Fox’s musical dramedy Glee, one of which, Wheels, earned him an Emmy nomination last year.

Not a great way to distinguish yourself from the only scripted hit on the network. “The Glades” is also a cop drama about a white man that features a Black female boss and a Hispanic male partner. It’s just a little derivative.
Yeah, I bitched about the Grunberg show, but these diversity hirings made up for it in so many way. I’ve worked with Paris. Complete admiration for him. I hope Paris pushes the diversity envelope. CONGRATS!!! REPRESENT!!!

I saw it being filmed (( at least a couple of sceines )) when they were around my
local area. never in my life met so many genuine, and nice people.
the Actors all of them, and especially, Big Mike Himself ((Greg Grundberg))such a warm and friendly pleasant guy, I wish them success with the t.v.movie.Never hurts to wish well of a product (the pilot)

GREG GRUNBERG IS A VERY TALENTED ACTOR, AND A SUPER INDIVIDUAL. HIS TALENT AS WELL AS ALL THE MEMBERS OF PARIS’S GROUP WILL SHINE NO DOUBT.I WISH THE SHOW MUCH SUCCESS !
