CBS Corp. and Netflix just announced a two-year, non-exclusive licensing agreement that will allow library CBS series to be streamed via Nexflix. Included in the deal are dramas Medium, Flashpoint, the original Hawaii Five-0, the different incarnations of Star Trek as well as Twin Peaks and The Twilight Zone. On the comedy side, included are Frasier, Cheers, Family Ties and The Andy Griffith Show. The shows will be available in April.

New ‘Man Of Steel’ Television Spot #6

I saw two episodes of “Cheers” yesterday on WGN as I was off work for the holiday. The show still cracks me up.
But Cheers and Family Ties were NBC Shows. Were they produced by CBS and aired on NBC?
They were produced by Paramount which is now CBS Paramount Television Productions.
Right. Because “The Andy Griffith Show” wasn’t in *constant* afternoon syndication throughout the decades following its original run.
[in backwards voice] “Let’s rock!….I’ve got good news. That show you liked is coming back in style.”
So with you man. Watch TP become top of the charts at NFLX streaming…
Anyone notice that this new deal with CBS doesn’t include new shows like The Good Wife, CSI, NCIS or the new Hawaii Five O? Medium was just cancelled and CBS gets Flashpoint dirt cheap from CTV Canada. I think this is just CBS making some extra cash from old product gathering dust.

You’re a fucking genius.
I’m taking my finger off the sarcasm button now (in case you’re confused).
What is this “Nexflix”? It sounds awesome!
/sarcasm
Will those shows become available on Netflix Canada?
Would love to see this expanded to some deeper catalog, especially “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman,” etc.
